Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Check the tyre tread. How many kilometers have you clocked? Rear brake might be a bit too tight, this might be causing the rear wheel to slide.Originally posted by road.ro View PostI have been noticing recently that my gixxer skids, even when i mildly apply the brake. What might be the issue?

It has done about 15000 kms. Tread height is relatively ok. how do i check if the rear brake is tight?

Put the bike on center stand and spin thevrear wheel...if it spins freely its not tight ..if it is hard to spin then the rear brake is tight.Originally posted by road.ro View PostIt has done about 15000 kms. Tread height is relatively ok. how do i check if the rear brake is tight?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I think it's time you should change your tyre. It'd be helpful if the senior members comment on the life of the tyre. As far as I know, the tyres are of soft compound. And they usually last around 10k-12k kilometers in normal conditions. Can you post a picture of the rear tyre?Originally posted by road.ro View PostIt has done about 15000 kms. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I own a sf so i chose not to commentOriginally posted by shadowrider View PostAnyone please help with the crash guard ...is the stock ones good?
But it seems your in a hurry so chose to
What I'll comment is either learnt or told by someone
Others correct me if i am wrong
I personally have seen many crash guards
Because many svc and region has many models when it comes to crasg guards
I have seen many fz guards that you are referring to bent due to fall
I see bent fz crash guards fixed at the mechanics everyday
P.s.
That can also happen due to more fz than gixxer on the road
I am not telling they are bad
While my friend crashed with his stock gixxer guard and nothing happend to the guard but scraping
Again this could even happen due to everything going perfectly maybe even a tipped gixxer guard can get bent
The best suggestion i can give you to as the svc how much the guard will cost and then go to the market and enquire about a good crash guard and its price
Then compare it and make your decision
I wont say i would have done that if i were you because i am not you
Everyone has their choices
Just a tip
Go for function rather than looks
Hope this can help you

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
When I put the bike on main stand and rotated the rear wheel, the sound was uneven. For half rotation there was normal sound but for next half it sounded like it was rubbing against something, like a slight shh sound. Even when on the move and i'm giving constant throttle, there is uneven sound from the bike. Is this normal?
Also, there is a tak tak sound coming from near the cylinder head when idling. Could it be tappet noise?

Thank you for the reply bro..am not in a hurry..its because of the rickshaw drivers here..they turn left or right all of a sudden..I will look ayh the aftermarket ones.will the aftermarket ones fit perfectly?Originally posted by debargha.kit2 View PostI own a sf so i chose not to comment

So I think I will go with anan aftermarket one..but since you own the naked version do u have any cable rubbine against the side head.light panels? My throttle cable rubs against the headlight panel.Originally posted by Biker23 View PostThe crash guard which they usually provide at the showroom is small and wouldn't protect the silencer if in case of a crash,so choose wisely.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks Anant.Originally posted by Fagant View PostYes, you can ride the bike at the speeds mentioned. It's very comfortable at those speeds with just minor vibrations on the footpeg. It can hold 85 km/h whole day long. Even more than that. I cruised at 85-95 km/h for around 650 kms, and it returned 41 km/l.
Ride safe,
Anant.
So looks like, milage-wise, Hornet may be better, but on looks, fun, performance and handling, gixxer stands out!
More queries:
1.if one wants to do lots of highway rides too alonwith daily city use of 5-6 kms, would sf be better? Does fairing really makes highway riding more comfortable?
2. In sf, crash/leg guard is not fitted!
3. Which one would be better for rides in hilly areas? naked or sf?
4. Will there be difference in milage in naked and sf?
5. Can tank bag and saddle bags be easily used on both of these bikes? Or will fairing will obstruct using tank bag on long rides?
Thanks for your time
