Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Blown fuse or water inside the connectors. This is a problem in the GS as well. If fuses are okay, remove the connectors and spray WD40 or Zorrick. Next time while pressure washing vehicle, avoid spraying water on carb, switches, connectors, ign key, and tank lid.Originally posted by Preet Bal View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Get Zorrik 88/WD-40 from nearby hardware store or get Electrical contacts cleaner from an electronics store. A deodorant with good alcohol content might be an alternative but I won't recommend itOriginally posted by Preet Bal View Postthnx buddy, any other alternatives to w40 ? and i could not find the connecters of these lights
.
A connector should be present for - rear brake pedal stop light switch, headlight and brake/tail LED. These "connectors" link the main wiring harness to the baby parts. One can usually find them by tracing the wires coming out of a component.
If it is complex for you, take it to SVC. Am sure this is a known problem.

Dont take my word for it. A lot of people have installed one in their bike, watch a couple of youtube videos. I am also planning on getting one but I am wondering how long the cooling fan will last before getting clogged up with dirt or die off.

Does the Nighteye/Novsight H4 LED bulb link you provided have dust cover?Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostDust cover?
I have seen the product reviews and youtube videos and decided to go for it. Just need to know how it plays with dust and water. I'm badly in need of this bulb for night driving [emoji29]

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Oh dear SVC & their prices!. It's a mafia out there. They don't show you the real pricelist and quote prices on the top of their head. I faced a lot of problems like these.Originally posted by VXR View PostHeyy guys! As I went to change the brake pads of my bike at the SVC! They guy told me front is for some 350 rupees and rear is 1000+ bucks. Seriously? I feel it too overpriced. I changed the front brake pad only.
Now my question is is there any other alternative for the rear brake pad apart from Suzuki genuine parts? The rear brake is a nissin unit. Have anyone tried bajaj or hondas rear brake pads? Do they fit? And their cost? Because I find the Suzuki's pricing for the rear brake pad to be too much.
Thanking you in advance
Fun fact, a lot of the parts used on our bikes like headlight reflector, horn, tyres, switches, etc are manufactured by different companies and assembled by the bike manufacturer (Suzuki) in this case.
I needed a new headlight assembly for retrofitting and went to SVC. They quoted a freaking ₹1500!. Then I got it at a scrap market for ₹400. After some digging I found the OEM that makes the Gixxer headlights their price was around ₹500-600. I spent 3hrs + fuel + travelling in traffic & pollution to get a scrap headlight for saving just ₹100-200 upfront, I lost more energy, time and money in the end.
The same goes for car headlights. Most halogen reflector headlights from the OEM cost ₹800-1200.
Showrooms are absolute lootmarts. Showrooms and SVCs seem to have alarmingly low accountability. Something needs to be done.
If brake pads are outsourced like headlights, try to find the OEM, you'll probably get them at half the price.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I'd really go ahead and change that damn AHO BS!. I just hate it. I think it's possible to get switchgear with a 3 position headlight switch. Or I'd atleast try and get some activa 3g or other scooter 3 position switch and jugaad it on there. As long as you don't cut wires, it shouldn't affect your warranty right?.Originally posted by Angurj View PostHi Guys,
I'm looking for headlight replacement for my Gixxer 155. Currently with stock. Since mine have the AHO feature, I do not want to go for 55+W bulbs and fade my reflector soon (bike is only 8 months old with 7000 kms clocked). So, have anyone tried and tested any other LED bulbs that suit the reflector design? I'm okay with aux lights too.
Please suggest me options in both headlamp LEDs and aux lights. Thanks in advance.
If u still want to keep that shitty AHO, I'd say tread the LED headlight field VERY VERY CAREFULLY! The last thing you want to be is an always ON blinding glare rider.
For starters stay away from all the RTD M3-M6 ones, they hate Gixxer!. Nighteye is generally a good brand but I am very skeptical about the ones on banggood. I'd love to do a photometric testing of them if I can get my hands on them ofc.
Generally speaking Phillips ulitinion are the perfect PNP LED headlights. But don't trust the chinese clones of similar design. The Chinese just can't help but screw up with the thickness and placement of LEDs.
If you do get them pls post back wall shots & road shots of both high & low beams and comparison shots with the halogen. Also make sure to keep the camera settings at manual and ensure it's as close to realistic as possibe.
P.S:
1. AHO sucks, they should have gone with an always on DRL & parking light.
2. Gixxer has a really poor reflector. I don't know how close they are to the H4 spec, but the low beam is more intense than the high beam.
3. Phillips should have put the LB in 50% powermode on their ulitinion H4 LED.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I'm getting the Nighteye H4 LED from Ali Express and I'm planning to place a switch for the AHO after 10,000 kms because I'm not going to service my bike in SVCs after the free services are done and warranty will avoid that way[emoji48]Originally posted by Brijesh M Nayak View PostI'd really go ahead and change that damn AHO BS!. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It is possible to use dust cover on most PNP LEDs with fans. But as motoroid said on motorcycle those fans are going to suffer.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostEven if go for the fan less leds which are available in bangood & aliexpress you won't be able to install the rubber cap behind the bulb which protects the reflector from dust and water, for this reason even I am a bit dicey in installing them. Well talking about the fan they claim it to be ipxx rated hope it will last but dust and water won't spare the reflector.

Honestly I wouldn't give him that advice unless he has a really good rapport with the SVC mechanics or he is really lucky to get a good SVC or he can easily catch if they try to scam.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostThere might be blown fuse or short circuit. Take it to your nearest SVC and get it sorted out.
As a rule of thumb, I always recommend post your problems here first, get some ideas & approach the SVC to with caution. Build a rapport or find a good mechanic later.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Well for starters, the problem seems to be with the switches or connectors (95%). Certainly a short created by water seepage. Don't use the lights that are not working, let them dry out, look for any burns or anything, and they should work. Gixxer seems to have only 1 fuse and since the self start works the fuse is fine.Originally posted by Preet Bal View PostHi guys, please help i have 2016 model gixxer.i recently washed the bike and now headlight, pilot light, instrument light and brake light on rear brake is not working.pass light, self start, front brake light and indicators are working please help me what could be the problem?
What's probably happening is that the water seepage is causing voltage drops and not enough voltage is being delivered to the lights.
I always used to have this problem with my indicator buzzer. Give it a few hrs & it used to work fine.Last edited by Brijesh M Nayak; 06-19-2018, 05:22 AM.
