Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks for your advice, Shashank. I'll post pics over this weekend for further consultation.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostYour rear sprocket still looks good. Have you checked the front sprocket?
The front sprocket might be hidden problem... 6 months prior, I had purchased it separately from SVC as I was facing harshness and noise from front sprocket. Some wheel adjustment and lubing did worked but seems it needs replacement now.
What surprised me was, SCV Spare part department manager communicated that do not sell the sprockets separately and it would come in set. After much email and talks with Suzuki folks, they obliged and I was able to buy one.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The the rear sprocket may seem fine, but you know the devil is in the details, and can be the case with yours. Staring with a elongated chain and a worn out front sprocket or a combination of both. Do post a picture of your rear wheel axle bolt at the current setting, this will give us an idea as to the life of the sprocket. Do post a picture or two of your rear wheel axle bolts, both left and right which will give us an idea as to a yes or no.Originally posted by Sasank View PostNeed help from experienced riders:
Lately, my chain needs frequent adjustments (with-in 200 kms). SVC folks advised me to go for sprocket assembly change. Current Odo reads 24.1k kms and year of purchase is Feb'15. The current one is factory fitted. I'm into extensive touring with minimal city movement, not more that 10 kms a day.
Opinion and suggestion welcome. Pics added for reference.
Cheers!

I had to change my front sprocket after 11000kms IIRC, I didn't bother to try any temporary fixes. Just like in your case, the SVC wouldn't give the front sprocket separately, so used P150's. At the time of selling the bike, the chain was in good shape and had plenty of adjustment left.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Postthe devil is in the details, and can be the case with yours. This was the adjustment mark on the day of sale (ODO was ~17000kms)-

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Guys need urgent help.
Today morning i was into changing my engine oil and oil filter. Drained old oil and removed old oil filter as well. When i opened the oil filler cap to pour new oil, i saw a white foam deposit
asked some of my friends and told its because engine oil turned into soap because of water entering to the breather tube and needs to clean the water in the air filter box and advised me to do engine oil flush. but i already poured the new engine oil and oil filter, without flushing.
I need some expert advice how to fix it properly and avoid any mishaps in the future because i already poured the new oil and changed to new oil filter without doing anything else.

Yea buddy i am in Malappuram but i am not at all affected during floods. fingers crossed.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View Post
I just gone through and read that page your mentioned. So what's conclusion at the end of the day?
Shall i keep the new engine oil as it is and let the condensation go by itself? Or i require an engine flush?
ran the bike half a kilometer with new oil and filter. parked under the shade till 9.45 am in the morning. Just took this pic now (2.30 pm) removing the filler cap. Looks like the condensation is still out there inside the engine too :

If oil looks like a brown milky fluid - oil is mixed with significant amount of water - don't operate engine in that state. If that oil is black/golden brown but clear like a glass, I wouldn't worry. I don't think those owners reached any conclusion as SVC themselves were clueless. A little bit of condensation under the cap is okay. I don't know if a commercially available flush or Kerosene or Diesel can effectively remove water as they are mainly for removing gunk/dirt/varnish, etc.

Oil inside glass looks fine to me. BTW, what grade/make oil did you use previous cycle ? And now?Originally posted by cbzee View PostThe oil was golden black when i drained. i see no milky fluid in it. and here is the pic you asked.
To be on the safer side,
Keep an eye on the glass atleast once weekly.
Check if the drain plug of the air filter box is present and is fixed properly.
Check all the rubber hoses, especially crankcase breather, for proper fitment and no cracks, etc.
Found some more examples over the net, but these are liquid cooled engines.
