You don't need to adjust it, just ensure that the maintenance free tensioner has not seized.Originally posted by sandeepcf View Post

Approximately 1300 as per this post.Originally posted by uchun View PostHas anyone changed chain sprocket? Any idea how much it would cost? I called up a couple of service center and they are quoting different prices.
Hello everyone, yesterday I bought the chain-sprocket kit for the Gixxer just as an extra backup spare. I'm posting this for your reference.
Gixxer and Gixxer SF share the same chain-sprocket kit. Actually, there is no kit for the Gixxer as the three components come seperately.
Chain Assembly -> ( Part. No 27600-30H40-132 ) ( Rs. 576 ) ( R428, Non O-Ring, 132 Links )
Drive Sprocket -> ( Part. No 27511-30H10-000 ) ( Rs. 311 ) ( aka Front/Engine Sprocket ) ( 15 Teeth )
Driven Sprocket -> ( Part. No 64511-34J10-000 ) ( Rs. 399 ) ( aka Rear Sprocket ) ( 45 Teeth )
Total Cost -> Rs. 1286/-.

This is a cheaper alternative to the front sprocket from Bajaj which costs 93 instead of 311 for the stock Suzuki.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Ok guys. Is it completely safe to use Motul 7100 10w40 for mu bike after 13000 kms? (All free services completed).Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostMotul 5100 isn't available in 10w40 here (at least I've never found it here). With 7100, the engine will feel a little coarse and gearshifts feel a bit smoother.
I heard fully synthetics are overkill, they reduce mileage bla bla bla? Please advise on this..

Overkill, yes, but it's upto you. You can use it without any worry.Originally posted by Angurj View PostOk guys. Is it completely safe to use Motul 7100 10w40 for mu bike after 13000 kms? (All free services completed).

Have you/anybody used Shell Advance AX7 (10w-40)? Is it semi or fully synthetic?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostOverkill, yes, but it's upto you. You can use it without any worry.
Can you recommend some good semi-synthetic and synthetic oils (only 10w-40)?

Yes I've a used a variety of oils on the Gixxer. Majority of them felt almost the same, exceptions being the stock idemitsu oil and Motul 7100.Originally posted by Angurj View PostHave you/anybody used Shell Advance AX7 (10w-40)? Is it semi or fully synthetic?

I stuck to Shell AX7 or Motul by Suzuki till I sold the bike.

Ok. By exception, you mean the idemitsu and Motul 7100 are very good??Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostYes I've a used a variety of oils on the Gixxer. Majority of them felt almost the same, exceptions being the stock idemitsu oil and Motul 7100.

Motul by suzuki is mineral right?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Nope, just that they felt different. 7100 made the engine feel a bit coarse (rougher), while the idemitsu was quite bad when the engine was hot.Originally posted by Angurj View PostOk. By exception, you mean the idemitsu and Motul 7100 are very good??

Mineral or semi synth is good enough. You can try the ecstar oils/Shell AX7/Motul by Suzuki/Yamalube. Good enough to use until maybe 3000kms. They all feel the same though, not much of a difference.
