Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I’m also facing the same problem, albeit since a couple of months. The problem has become worse now as I have to keep the key at an angle to keep the bike ON. Service stations in my city are worthless and suggest me replacing the key barrel. Outside mechanics also suggested the same. I don’t want to lose my original key; it there any way out to repair, mend or fix the key barrel?Originally posted by OptimusCreed View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hey guys. The issue mentioned above, about turning the key I'm the ignition, and the screen coming on for a second and switching off, due to which we can't start the bike, I too face it.
But I faced it after driving continuously for about 2 hours on highway. I figured it may be due to excessive heating or something. But I didn't feel that much heat coming from it. I was able to start the bike after pushing it though, which allowed it to run for about another hour, after which, everything started flickering, headlight, screen, the engine too wasn't running properly, but luckily I managed to reach my home by then. I let it rest for about half an hour, and it started again as normal.
Is this normal? Is this due to heating? Could anyone enlighten me??

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
No, I don't think its due to heating coz I've ridden mine for almost 2 hrs (with the key in slight twisted condition) and no problem crept up. I guess its a faulty key barrel.Originally posted by always_a_noob_97 View PostHey guys. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
But it works fine now. Absolutely no issues. If it were a faulty key barrel, why was there an issue like the bike was gonna switch off while running. And why was I able to start it by pushing?Originally posted by eddyjamerson View PostNo, I don't think its due to heating coz I've ridden mine for almost 2 hrs (with the key in slight twisted condition) and no problem crept up. Is it necessary to have all 4 free services done in suzuki service centre? Service is not at all good

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi guys, I just got my bike serviced today on 46th day with 553kms on odo. A significant change after the service was with the engine sound, it's too smooth now. I'd rather prefer the raw grunt from earlier but is it supposed to be like that? And also, the throttle response at 1-2-3 gears has reduced. Bike jumps to 40-50kmph smoothly without any effort unlike it did before the service. If it's helpful, I kept the RPM <5k with highest speed at 70kmph. Also, I shift at 4k.

1. Chain cleaning and lubrication is not done properly.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostIn what way is service not good. Explain in detail.
2. They change idle rpm way to above the suggested limit by suzuki. Now my bike is makes noise while down shifting.
3. My bike stalls when in idle state and handle moved to extreme right or left. They were not able solve this problem.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155 Rear disc replacement
Hello people
I've done close to 7k on my gixxer bought in Feb. The rear disc pad had wornout which didn't come to my notice and as a result the disc plate has got scratches. When took to mechanic he said that the plate needs to be replaced as its bent.
Can we get the bend removed and if not how much would the disc plate cost me.
Cheers!

1. If chain maintenance is not done properly then you should mention that at the time of receiving your bike after service.Originally posted by sai2610 View Post1. Chain cleaning and lubrication is not done properly.

3. My bike stalls when in idle state and handle moved to extreme right or left. They were not able solve this problem.
2. Idle RPM can be adjusted manually by yourself as well, you dont need the SVC to set it. Also Idle RPM has no connection with the Noise while down shifting.
3. If your bike stalls in Idle state then check Fuel amount, Fuel Valve position, Choke position.
Handle moved to extreme right or left? Doesnt make sense, be more clear about this.
If the brake rotor is bent then SVC should cover the cost of replacement. It is negligence on their part that they did not notice the bent rotor during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd service (assuming you got 3 services done till now based on the fact you have covered 7k kms).Originally posted by Knuckles View PostHello people

But if you have had an accident in these 7k kms, then its a different story.
Ask your SVC why did they not check the Rear brake rotor during the previous services, and that they should cover the replacement cost. If they dont comply, shoot Suzuki an Email on their website. A brake rotor doesnt simply get bent. It either comes like that from the factory, or gets bent after an accident. Rarely if the quality of the rotor is not good, it may get bent under extreme braking. Hope this helps

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hey guys, I'm facing this issue again. When I turn the key, the display comes on for a second, and then goes off. Unable to start the bike, can start it by pushing though. The headlight and display flickers, the engine sputters and bike keeps jumping if I try to use in this state. And now, the problem does not resolve on waiting, like it did last time.Originally posted by always_a_noob_97 View PostHey guys. It worked normally for two days after it happened last time. And now I'm pretty sure it's not cause of heating cause it happened this time on a short trip.
Does anyone have any clue what's going on? I'm pretty tensed about it.
