Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Try replacing the chain link lock. It should solve your problem.Originally posted by sazzy View PostHi guys i am facing problem with my bike for a week. My bike makes tak tak noise when i drive. First i thought it was chain and i tightened and lubed it.
But the problem still occurs. Then i noticed, the bike is making that noise only while i am accelerating. When i go down slope with engine off, or engine on in neutral, the bike doesn't make any sound. What maybe the problem? I can't go to service center for 2-3 days

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Gixxer owners in Bangalore,
I am looking out for engine guard or extended mudflap for the front fender, I searched everywhere I can and I couldn't find anything. The main issue is, as you all know that the front mud guard of Gixxer is very short and when we ride on a slushy road, all the mud will be stuck over the engine and even on the riders foot.
I need to know whether anyone has any leads where I can find the guard/ flap extender etc... Also a good reputable place in Bangalore for doing these kinds of mods.
(I don't know whether this is the right thread for posting request, sorry).

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Happy to help.. Also, take some time out in 3-4 months to open out the small sprocket cover (requires 8 mm spanner) and clean the muck accumulated there. Service center guys are too damn lazy to do it. Regular cleaning of this area will work wonders in the long run.Originally posted by sazzy View PostThanks man, it helped.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
NOTICE: So I had a detailed conversation with the RM of my SVC, here are a couple of points to note about Engine Oil for GSX150/F
1. Recommended engine oils for the Gixxer are:
If you use an Engine oil other than the 2 mentioned above, you do so at your own risk meaning; if something happens to the engine due to usage of a non-recommended oil, SIMPL will not be responsible for it hence the warranty will not cover it.
2. A fully synthetic version of Idemitsu is going to be available at SVCs soon.
3. There are plans of completely phasing out Idemitsu and Motul and introduce in-house engine oil brand which is ECSTAR (links below for reference)
ECSTAR Suzuki Genuine Oil*| Suzuki Motor of America, Inc
ECSTAR | Global Suzuki
This is all you need to know about Recommended Engine Oils for the Gixxer. Period!
Personal Note: I have used the Motul 10w40 Mineral, 7100 10w40 and Idemitsu SS 10w40. To me the difference between the Idemitsu and 7100 is marginal, not significant enough to justify the double cost of the 7100.
Performance of the motorcycle is consistent with all the 3 engine oils both on Streets and the Track.
TBH Iam excited about the FS Idemitsu launch and the ECSTAR introduction. Lets see how it goes! For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Did you try with Motul 300v 10w40? My friend is using in his black Gixxer for 2year.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostNOTICE: So I had a detailed conversation with the RM of my SVC, here are a couple of points to note about Engine Oil for GSX150/F

Motul 300V is a racing oil. Its not supposed to be used in a Street bike, Period.Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostDid you try with Motul 300v 10w40? My friend is using in his black Gixxer for 2year.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I was using Motul 300v since 5k in odo in my FZ, mine FZ is now 48k, still manages to climb 122kmph. One my colleage using same FZ using ELF 20w40 mineral oil, now he is facing black/grey smoke out.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostMotul 300V is a racing oil. I mostly ride in triple digits in highway and my colleage used to ride in city max 90-95 in flyover.
P.S. the quality of engine oil and less draining interval keep engine healthy.
I have seen lots of gixxer draining only 500ml suzuki-motul 10w40 oil after 2000km interval.
Now, choice is yours.Regards

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
1. Black/Grey smoke is because the oil is leaking into the combustion chamber and is getting burnt meaning somethings wrong inside his cylinder (most likely piston seal must have gotten damaged)Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostI was using Motul 300v since 5k in odo in my FZ, mine FZ is now 48k, still manages to climb 122kmph. 2. Why does it matter that you ride in Triple digits? Also if your "colleague" is doing 90-95 in city "in flyover" then you should probably advice him not to OVERSPEED since he is essentially breaking a traffic rule.
3. Eh no, it doesnt keep the engine healthy, you are just wasting the oil unnecessarily by changing the oil before its due time. Also 300V is not superior to 7100 or vice versa. Like I said 300V is a racing oil, 7100 is a FS street oil. Both the oils have different properties to meet the bikes specific needs.
4. Lot of gixxers draining only 500ml? Where did you pull that number from? How did you measure the oil in the oil collecting pan? How many gixxers did you actually see getting drained?
5. Its not your choice. You either go with whats recommended by the manufacturer or you can kiss your warranty goodbye. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
MotoBlizzard is right Motul 300v isn't worth it unless you have a super bike. I am using 300v 15w50 on my gixxer sf it did wonders for first 1500km after that i won't find any difference. One of my friend using motul 7100 on gixxer and trust me both the bike felt same.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View Post1. Final verdict don't go for 300v it will give you satisfaction of using a expensive oil and some minor performance increase for few KMS thats it.
As for warranty atleast my warranty is still intact. The ASC guys poured the oil first they were denying but after giving the call to Suzuki india, they responded asap and asked the ASC to use the oil which i bought.

I have already said this before, Suzuki Customer Service agents are not technical personnel.Originally posted by Sandi888 View PostAs for warranty atleast my warranty is still intact. If due to any reason your engine goes kaput while the 300V is in there, the SVC will deny a warranty claim because after investigation by a RM or AM they will come to know you used a Non-Recommended oil as it will be mentioned in your service record.
If you try to reason with them by saying Suzuki India Customer service said "its fine", they will tell you the same thing I told you in the first sentence.
Anyways Goodluck!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks for the info i am also using x1r engine oil treatment. Will keep this in mind if my engine dies for some reason. The service center guys are'nt much qualified in my city there must be some way to bluff them if this happens.😋Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostI have already said this before, Suzuki Customer Service agents are not technical personnel.
