Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi all,
I have been following the thread since some days but was not able to reply because my account under moderation. Thanks team xbhp for approving my account.
After lots of research, i bought gixxer over fz s on 18th April. I have been using bike for my office commute which is 35 kms one side with around 15 kms of highway drive.
Now i have some observations, I am not able to take my bike beyond 64kmph but till 64kmph, the bike is pretty smooth. I request expert ridders to give their feedback why is this happening.
I shown bike to Service centrer and they could take bike till 85kmph. Bit I am not able to take beyond 65kmph. Is it any issue of my driving style? Or bike has any issue.
Please post your views.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I've a 2017 Gixxer and it's run around 4200 kms. Off late, the bike doesn't seem to start when parked under the hot sun for a while. When I try starting it, using the self starter, the engine doesn't respond at all. A couple of times I tried opening and closing the petrol tank lid and the bike started, could have been an airlock. But since the past 2 days, even that does not help. I have to use the choke and it starts sometimes. It never had this issue earlier.
The bike has no problem at all in starting when parked in a shaded place, it is only when parked under the hot sun does it have this issue. Should be an air lock, but since opening and closing the fuel lid is not helping, what do I do next?May the wind be always at your back

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I believe this has happened due to sun drying out your petrol inside the carb. That’s why opening your petrol tank cap assisting the petrol to flow inside the carb and allowing the ignition to work. I heard this in another gixxer and seems like this is a common issue i guess. I have the FI version so I don’t have a problem yet and i have never parked under direct sunlight yet.Originally posted by Snehal Sekhar View PostI've a 2017 Gixxer and it's run around 4200 kms. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Is there no permanent fix to this? My next service is due in another 2 weeks and I am going to bring this up to the SA then, but if this is a common issue then this should be something that Suzuki should find a fix for.Originally posted by White Fang View PostI believe this has happened due to sun drying out your petrol inside the carb. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yup, as i have said in a previous post, i have adjusted the clearances and the tensioner myself, but no reduction in sound. All the SVCs say it's normal. Even a complaint on the Suzuki website didn't help, they said it's fine but changed the tensioner "just in case". I'm living with the sound as it's not audible when wearing my helmet.Originally posted by kuulbhaskar View PostHello guys just want to give you an update that those people who are facing tick tick sound from engine head is not at all completely related to valve or tappets.
Today i myself bought a feeler guage and adjusted the valve to 0.04mm(in) and 0.12mm(ex) (when cold)which is the least number for this bike. Took a little help from my local mechanic. But i can still hear the tick tick annoying sound after riding a little for say 6-10km with speed fluctuating from 20-60km/hr in city.
My mechanic suggested that is related to arm rocker, it may have been worn out a little which is causing the tick tick sound.
So just want to know that will SMIPL warranty work out in this matter if i claim it ?
It does get really loud when the engine has been running above 70kmph+ constantly.Last edited by Shashank K R; 05-01-2018, 10:39 AM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
No, look into Yamaha or Honda or TVS Bikes. Gixxer might look and sound good initially but later on you will have troubles.Originally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostHello All,
I see some tick tick issues here with gixxer.
I am planning for Gixxer 2018 with ABS, would you all suggest me to go ahead with Gixxer? For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Let me elaborate.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostNo, look into Yamaha or Honda or TVS Bikes. Gixxer might look and sound good initially but later on you will have troubles.
I have test driven Hornet, Pulsar 160 ns, Apache 160 4v and Gixxer.
Hornet didn't had the suspensions I expected, though CBS was impressive, and now I can expect ABS here.
Pulsar had really good suspension, but I already owned a Pulsar earlier so thinking about it.
Apache 160 4v has race tuned suspension, giving it position below Hornet.
Gixxer with ABS seemed to the perfect balance.
My first priority is Comfort, Suspension.
I almost came down to conclusion of purchasing Gixxer, after ABS launches.
Now, everyone's suggestion is welcome.

My suggestion will be to go for 160 4V or 200 4V. Goodluck.Originally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostHornet didn't had the suspensions I expected, though CBS was impressive, and now I can expect ABS here. Did you know that the suspension is adjustable?

My first priority is Comfort, Suspension. Gixxer isnt comfortable if thats what you are thinking. Also understand what a suspension does before making a decision. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

I fully understand the role of suspension in comfort.
To race tune directly implies stiffening suspensions more.
Though I was/am expecting TVS to be more familiar with Indian roads than Honda or Suzuki.
Apache 160 lacks ABS, which is a very good safety option.
Though, I would ask everyone to help me by sharing your words on Gixxer please.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Ignore gixxer and take a look at the new r15 v3 it's a killer in 150 segment of bike's in India . Though keep it in mind to pay the premium price for it !!Originally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostHello All,

Also Suzuki India isn't paying attention to the problem faced by the customers, they should learn the way how Yamaha handles the customers problems.Last edited by kuulbhaskar; 05-02-2018, 11:17 AM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I own Gixxer SF FI ABS and if you are waiting for Gixxer ABS then better wait till April 2019 post which all vehicles above 125cc will come with ABS. Test ride the FZ as well it has better brakes than the Gixxer. It won't have the safety of ABS but the stopping distance will be lesser than GixxerOriginally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostLet me elaborate.
