In Gixxer, RTR, GS, Splendor and FZ; the oil strainer or the mesh is deliberately placed above the oil drain bolt. The very act of draining the oil will "self-clean" the strainer of its debris. If I were you, I will shine some torch light alternate oil changes and check if the strainer is clogged. Yes, it is worth to keep an eye on the strainer and clean it if necessary.

For Hondas like Unicorn/Shine/Hornet and Bajaj (P150/180/Avy), opening the clutch cover and cleaning it is much safer as we can't see the strainer directly via the drain hole. Anyway the clutch cover has to be opened in such vehicles for cleaning the rotor filter (which again SVC skips till clutch change).

You are changing the oil every 2.5k - no flush is required. Even in a vehicle with irregular oil changes, using a flush is dangerous as it can free debris that can block oil galleys.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Planning to change rear Tyre suggest some good tyre with decent budget of 3k. Still using stock tyre & got nearly 7 punctures when it was tubeless then i spent Rs.300 for adding tube to it. Recently 2 punctures within 2 weeks. I'm able to see some cracks in both sides of the tyre.
      Just follow my shadow.

My experience is nil with tubeless tires, will let owners pitch in. With 38k, it's life should definitely be over.

Michelin tend to offer a fine balance between grip and service life in their products, but I doubt they make the stock tyre size for the gixxer.

Nevertheless the stock MRF tyres are also pretty good for their price

My first post in this forum was about my engine light staying on.
I still dont know what happened to the vehicle but the SVC gave it back to me without the light blinking.
I am a heavy user right now completed 3.6k kms on the odo.
I have a mileage on 54-56 on 60-80 driving pattern.
Right now I wanted to know a good SVC in Chennai whom i can entrust the bike to.
Have been going to SMK motors Porur these many days(first 2 services).
They are asking me to change my engine oil for every service as I am a heavy user(heavy but not rash) is it really necessary? I dont want to get fleeced by these people.
                    Thanks for your opinion.

Also in a totally unrelated question,
The headlight of the bike is pretty dim.
I was planning on changing to 60/65w H4 philips headlights(600 each) but I am worried about the battery draining off.
I can use LEDs but I am worried about blinding oncoming traffic(I know how it feels).
I asked my SVC about the possibility of adding a switch. But it apparently seems that the wiring diagram is different for the BSIII and BSIV models...
Should I entrust the adding of a switch to the local mechanic? or should I just run with the stock bulbs? or should I change to the higher version without thinking about the battery?
                    Your opinions again please...

                    Thank you
I am also facing same issues.
Please, any experienced or one who has installed lights on their bike could take some time to address our queries?

What's the use of these wires in exhaust? This is a carb gixxers exhaust!!

Hello everyone, there is noise from chain while shifting, mainly during shift from 4 th to 5th. I think dust accumulated on the chain is the reason for this. Is there any chain guard available for our bike cause chain is getting dirty very fast. Lubing doesn't help as the wet lube is catching all the dust and debris

There is an easier option. You can sell teh bike and get a Hayate EP. This bike comes with Chain Cover so you dont have to worry about chain getting dirty.

[emoji23] blizz I am not asking for bike suggestion. If regular lubing is the only option then I will do it.

Yes regular lubing is the only option. And that sound is not because of dust or dirt if its coming while shifting from 4th to 5th. I cant comment anything on it without listening to a sample.
