The Gixxer155cc bike has a CV carburetor and the adjustment screw adjusts the amount of Petrol at idle and upto 3,000 RPM. In all CV carbs with the throttle blade, a small gap remains at the bottom portion of the Throttle blade to ensure it does not get stuck with the carburetor body at zero throttle. This allows small amount of air to pass through...when air passes through this it creates a vacuum at the inlet of carb., and a small amount of petrol is also sucked through the needle and enters the inlet manifold. Closing the throttle or the Fuel screw fully in does not stop the small amount of petrol to enter the inlet manifold. If total starvation is needed, then the throttle blade must be allowed to close fully by adjusting the throttle rest screw (static idle adjust screw) ...this is normally not recommended since the throttle blade is likely to jam on to the carb., body and throttle will get stuck..So it is normal to let the throttle close fully and then adjust the static idle adjust Manual Screw at the right side of Carb., to have slight opening of the throttle blade ..the preferred value is 15 degrees of slant...a gap of 0.2mm to 0.4 mm ,between throttle blade and carburetor body, will suffice..after this only the idle fuel screw and cable slack is adjusted...
    Hope my explanation is useful...

Has anybody ever tried to fit a battery to Gixxer battery compartment larger than the standard 3 AH capacity?

As you can see from the image there is a tiny hole from where the air is leaking which I have checked. Should I get it fixed by that puncture kit by piercing it and making big hole OR any sort of glue, paste would seal it ? Because the hole is too tiny ! Thanks in advance[emoji5]

Repair it with puncture kit mate. It will give you long term reliability rather than a limited time getting by gluing it. Also there is no guarantee if that glue will leak into inside of the RIM when the tire becomes hot.

                It was indeed helpful!
But what I don't understand is other gixxer bikes as I have seen in svc and youtube videos stall and die when the fuel screw is tuned towards leaner side

                Reference video:

So was wondering why the difference though 🤔

Guys I'm getting some thud sound from the chain when I release the clutch lever in slow moving traffic...
I took it to 2-3 local mechanics and they all told the chain sprocket is gone (12k on the odo) it was well maintained and lubed every 2 months.
But the svc people just oiled the chain and are telling it'll be ok!
It happend after I recently serviced my bike can I claim it under warranty?

No its actually coming from the rear sprocket.

                        Hello Guys,

I purchased Suzuki Gixxer SF in August 2015 (almost 2.5yo now). Had one accident over this period of time resulted in the replacement of left and right fairing. Although, a couple of months after that accident, I found that sometimes the speedometer in digital instrumentation panel stabilizes on 0 (i.e. doesn't displace from 0), and this happens at really odd times. For an instance, ignition -- drove for a km with the speedometer not working -- a couple of bumps later (or just all of a sudden) speedometer jumps to 30-27-8- and all the possible odd number finally showing the actual speed (at least for some time). Now once it started working, it may work flawlessly for the whole ride; or may come to halt in seconds. This happened every time I drove. And whenever I visited authorized service centre, they told me that it may be a problem with something attached with rear tyre (some fuse as I remember). I asked them to change it, and maybe they changed it too in the next service because for next few days the panel was working fine.

A couple of days later, I encountered the problem, well again. I revisited, and the service centre manager told me to get the whole instrumentation panel changed (and all the pros and cons of getting it replaced), and oh yes, he mentioned the cost of a new instrumentation panel too.

I still don't get one thing, why speedometer (and explicitly, trip meter) is the only thing not working in the whole panel. RPM is working, petrol level is working, shift indicator is ok, time is working fine, heck back-panel LED is also working!!

And, yes the problem I faced to show the service centre manager that what I'm claiming is true. Every time I visited service centre, the meter was just fine. And finally, I've to record a video of it, and show him that (click here to see that video).

Pl. suggest me what to do. I don't believe what that service centre manager said (He proposed a net cost of Rs 25K+ for majorly fairing replacement as it was part of the insurance claim). I visited other authorized service centres too, but they all are connected. I am resorting to this thread to get an advice on this matter.

                        Thanks!

1.Can I ride with this tyres having cracks on wall in city about 60 kmph speed?
2.Will it last few more kms?
3.Or should I change it before riding?
I do highway rides once in a month of 50 kms max. And daily of 20 kms.
Please guide me. Thanks in advance.[emoji5]

Seems like you should be fine mate but just to avoid any bad experience, i suggest converting this to a tubed tyre to get more kms out of this. [emoji106]

Have you tried servicing the speedometer sensor? There could be dust particles or a loose connection resulting this due to the accident. Try replacing the speedometer cable as well. [emoji106][emoji106]
