Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Assuming one changes oil every 6k, 10 INR per km is acceptable (after pouring 950 ml, one still has 50 for top-up but I have no idea by how much FS oil per km vanishes as never used them). Did they say anything about changing the service interval - now I think its every 4k kms, can be pushed to every 6000 like the Hondas. Ecstar too is manufactured by Idemitsu, no? Why would general service interval change?Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostDid they say anything about changing the service interval - now I think its every 4k kms, can be pushed to every 6000 like the Hondas.

You are right, its probably by Idemitsu only given the trademarking on the back of the containerLast edited by MotoBlizzard; 11-11-2017, 02:52 PM. Reason: Noticed teh Idemitsu trademarking on the oil containerFor My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thats correct. But this FS oil is coming in for the first time. The Jap dude did mention 6-7k kms but I am sure customers are gonna push it to 8k or atleast somewhere between 7-8k before getting it changed. As it stands, SVCs can still bend teh rules slightly.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostCurrent interval is 1st service at 1000 and every 4000 thereafter (oil change every 4k and filter at every alternate, i.e., 8k). Now, I cannot speak about anyone who rides their bike alot between 2 service intervals so much as to cover the designated KMS but in my case the DAYS usually come before the KMS covered. So irrespective of how many kms I covered, I would get the oil and filter changed after a period of 6months effectively.
Still its too early for me to say anything. All of this info is based on todays Rushed camp. I will try getting more concrete details next week. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Everyone,
Looking for replacement tyres. The only options available are the stock 17 inch 140/60 MRF Revz M and the Ceat Zoom XL. Not very keen on the Ceats though. But if I move up to 140/70 section tyres, there are a few more options like MRF Masetter, pirelli sport demon/dragon, Michelin pilot sporty etc. I'm quite keen on the Masetter as I have some experience with them on a friend's Ninja 300.
Has anyone used/is using a 140/70 section tyre? Did you correspondingly change the front to some other size from the stock 100/80? Any changes wrt acceleration, fuel economy and ride quality? Does ground clearance get better with the extra 14mm on the 140/70 profile and conversely will the higher profile tyre scrape against the mudguard and/or the bottom of the seat in bad riding/road conditions?
Thanks in advance.

140/70 is a high profile tire compared to the stock. Should be a direct fit and not scrape anywhere.Originally posted by Shumi_21 View PostHi Everyone,

With 140/70 you might experience:
Drop in acceleration.
Slight increase in top end.
Better ride quality.
Slight increase in ground clearance. Increased pillion seat/saddle height.
Might have a slight difference in feel during corners (stock would be better since it's a low profile)
Cheers

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I'm currently using a Michelin Pilot Street radial at the rear (140/70). Negligible drop in acceleration (in fact i felt none, though using something heavier with a flatter profile like the MRF Zapper S can cause this), fuel economy not changed by much (maybe +/-1kmpl). Definite increase in ride height, feels taller. Doesn't scrape speedbreakers anymore, even with a heavy pillion. Also, the rear suspension feels slightly stiffer. Doesn't touch the mudguard/bottom of the seat. There is a discrepancy in the odo readings though.Originally posted by Shumi_21 View PostHi Everyone,

Bottomline, if you're fine with the stock tyres, stick to them, else you're free to experiment

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi everyone, I have purchased Gixxer about a month back. I am very happy about it except for one problem, whenever the bike goes through water on the road, the water from front tyre comes and falls on my feet. Is there any mudguard extension. I believe the frond mudguard is too small or am I missing something?? Is there any possibility to fit the rubber extensions to mudguard without drilling holes from other bikes. I want to purchase leg guard to my bike, both showroom and accessories shops says that only one standard model(very small butterfly). Can someone suggest me any shops near indiranagar, Banglore or any exact shop names on jc road. I would like to fit one nice leg guard like the ones that come with fzs.
