    Hi Naveen,
The rattling sound is most likely the windshield. It tends to become loose over a period of time. I faced the same in the past. Wrt the hard gear shifts, they do get smoother with time. You should not face any problems on your trip.

    Hope this helps

I could not think anything specific regarding your issue. If I were you I will check first for clogged air filter, air lock in the fuel lines and my suspect is adultered fuel or some dust particles at some petrol pump during your trip. Can you reproduce problem now or it just happens all of a sudden.

Thanks Ashwanth.r Yes you are right need to use round spannner or rachet to open this kind of axle nuts, But as i mentioned in video i don't had it while doing the act, i used the C spanner By the ways thanks for your love towards my videos Appreciated

Definite increase in ride height, feels taller. Doesn't scrape speedbreakers anymore, even with a heavy pillion. Also, the rear suspension feels slightly stiffer. Doesn't touch the mudguard/bottom of the seat. There is a discrepancy in the odo readings though.

Bottomline, if you're fine with the stock tyres, stick to them, else you're free to experiment .

@motoblizzard hopefully they've launched the ecstar oil here in bengaluru too, wanted to try it.
what if i switch to 130/70 michelin street.. Any downside

              Hey guys,

Can you tell me what fuel mileage you're getting with your Gixxers? How much kmpl? I know the FE would change according to the way you ride, but a good average would suffice.

I need to make a decision soon about getting a bike, and if Gixxer gives good FE, then I can go for it.

In bumper to bumper traffic, the lowest I've derived is 38 kmpl, generally hovers around 42 kmpl. On highway/tour, expect somewhere between 48-50 kmpl.

48-50kpl on highway is good, What's the cruising speeds to attain this figure?

Am thinking of getting a bike for my 34 km trip every day to office (17 km one side) and the best part is, out of those 34 km, 30 km is highway, so it's gonna be so much fun riding a bike there at easy 70 to 80 kmph. But since am a middle class man, fuel efficiency matters a lot to me, hence was thinking of getting a Unicorn 160.

I was really impressed with one of the video reviews on YouTube and after I test drove the Gixxer (naked version) today, I really liked it. Compared with Unicorn 160, it has better specs - good riding posture, rear disk brake, sexy looks, beautiful engine grunt.

What are your thoughts of Gixxer compared to Unicorn 160?

I had Gixxer SF which I had sold as I was traveling out for long and it was sitting idle. But, now I am planning to get a nacked version as it will be easier to maneuver in a city I feel. I kept my driving very disciplined and never drove it rough. I got 50-55kmpl in a city and highway 55-60kmpl. Average speed was between 35-50 inside a city. Now, if you get stuck in a traffic, and leave it on or have to constantly keep switching gears or drive over 75-80kmph than obviously, your mileage will go down to few numbers. Generally, most bikes will give you good mileage if driven properly and provided with decent roads/traffic. But, gixxer does it much better in comparison to others.

Overall, it's mileage and looks with functions still drawing me to the gixxer. So, just go for it.

I try to maintain it with-in 70-70 kmph (between 5k to 6k RMP). For me, this is the sweet spot.

Unicorn has well tested and proven engine. It can go miles and keep owner happy without throwing tantrum. The only miss (as per my experience) Unicorn has is it's appeal when you want to go for spirited rides like twistiest, occasional weekend rides or maybe traffic filtering. It will serve you but has it's limitation due to commuter design of the bike. I'll rather compare Hornet and Gixxer in a similar category. Hornet is amazing machine.

Other hand, Gixxer is spirited and wants to give you those aspect which Unicorn misses.

Take extensive test rides and go for one which suits you.

I am having Suzuki Gixxer 155 (Std. single disc) with 30000+ KMs. Recently I have changed the Chain Sprocket and after changing, I rode about 9000 KMs on new chain sprocket. Recently, my bike started giving high noise like tickling sound while it is on the gear and while giving acceleration. If I pull clutch, there is no sound. My technician checked and he could not find any fault in the sprocket and chain. But, I am feeling like sitting on a saw while hearing that sound. Even bike gives vibration while that sound comes.
The sound comes like once in a second when I ride in the speed of 50 kmph. Chain is frequently lubricated with the chain spray as well as oil sometimes. In both lubricantrs, sound is same. Tooth of the sprocket at both end are proper and chain also not over tight/ over loose. It is in medium. Please someone help me on this how I can solve this.

check all the links of the chain. see whether any two are stuck together and are not moving independently. SVC mechanic usually never checks for it. if that is the case then clean those links properly and lube them. see if it works. or else you will need to change the chain.

It's rear wheel alignment. Ask them to realign and don't overlook swingarm marks to manage alignment.

Mileage of my gixxer suddenly dropped to 25kmpl...previously got around 40kmpl

What could be the reasons for sudden drop in mileage??

                                Thanks !!!
