I believe the frond mudguard is too small or am I missing something?? Is there any possibility to fit the rubber extensions to mudguard without drilling holes from other bikes. I want to purchase leg guard to my bike, both showroom and accessories shops says that only one standard model(very small butterfly). Can someone suggest me any shops near indiranagar, Banglore or any exact shop names on jc road. I would like to fit one nice leg guard like the ones that come with fzs.
I've faced the same issue this monsoon. A simple fix would be a rubber mudflap (I'm not sure which bike) using superglue. I also remember someone fitting the Duke 390's fender extender to the gixxer in this forum.

I've seen a few gixxers with the FZ's crash guard, maybe you can try at Motorcycle Components, JC Road (take a right turn at the SBI branch just after the JC Road junction signal).

I was told that this is normal by the SVC mechanics.
Others have faced a similar sound too, it was attributed to a missing rubber cover on the CCT (look for a silver bulge behind the engine on the left hand side of the bike and check).

Yesterday I faced a weird problem. I was doing around 40kmph and I felt a huge lag and jerk upon giving more throttle. Just like how engine jerks when you run out of fuel. The engine would not rev more than 6000rpm. There was about half tank petrol. I checked below seat if anything blocking the air intake. Stopped the bike and tried to rev on neutral. Same problem. Rode the bike slow for a while and later the problem was gone. Any idea what would've caused this?. Anyone faced such issues before?

I faced the same problem the third day I purchased the bike. It happened after riding for 500m from parking.i turned the fuel tap to off then turned to on.then used choke to start. Then after the problem never occured.I told the service center guy,he brushed it off saying the engine is not warmed enough.from them I made an habit of warming the engine for 30s. Those 30s I utilise to close my eyes and pray to god to keep me safe on road.

Faced the same issue few months back. I was riding at 70-80 constantly (airport road) and wanting to overtake a slower rider, I gave more throttle.

The bike sputtered and there was a lag before the acceleration kicked in. Also the bike wouldn't rev past 5000rpm all of a sudden. I stopped on the side to check, and noticed that the carb overflow was leaking petrol (this was the second time it had happened).
I switched off the fuel supply, waited for a few minutes and then launched the bike. The bike initially wouldn't go past 5000rpm, but all of the sudden the acceleration came back. Also the fuel stopped leaking from the carb overflow. I'm not entirely sure about what caused this, but the same has happened even on my CD100. I suspect that there might have been some dirt in the fuel I used.

There was no fuel leak in my case.
I had washed my bike the previous day using a pressure wash. So maybe some water would've gone into the tank I guess. Since i have never used any other fuel apart from shell, i highly doubt it's the fuel quality problem.

That is possible. Water in the fuel explains the lag you felt.

completed 3 years with gixxer. some recent changes i made:

                  1. battery: battery started to die. Self-problem and blank display issues. changed it to Exide XLtz4. It's a 4AH battery. I thought only 3Ah battery would fit (factory model is amco 3ah) but XLTZ4 was a perfect fit. Now horn and lights are working perfectly. no issues.

                  :: EXIDE INDUSTRIES LIMITED ::

SVC said Amco gives 2 years of warranty on battery. My stock ones died in 3 years. Exide, on the other hand, gives 48 months warranty.

Note: I have been using Philips extreme vision plus for past two years.

                  2. fog lights: installed these lights.

work well. I made connections to dipper of the headlight. However, i need suggestions for connection. I want them to lit separately from headlight. Local mechanic couldn't understand the wiring.

                  3. seat cushion: got a new seat in karol bagh market, delhi. the seat maker added 1 inch cushion on existing seat. but still its no joy for a pillion. My wife complained a lot during our trip to Lansdowne (from delhi).

                  4. Saddle Bag: if you like touring you can buy these saddle bags. good quality with enough space:

cheaper to buy in the shop. expensive on amazon. I got it from Karol Bagh.

Gixxer is still a good touring bike but pillion comfort is so bad . Did you guys check new Suzuki Intruder 150. Looks awesome.

low like 30-35. but its mostly because my driving is rough.

Mileage not fuel mileage <> How many KMs did you cover?

Might be water inside spark plug cap too. GS suffers from this problem as well - the sudden hiccup or breathless feeling when throttle is opened for quick acceleration. AFAIK, Suzuki redesigned this cap as 1st generation GSes had lot of such complaints.
