Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Right because the alternate definition comes to your mind when the word mileage is used, typical indian mindset. Calling a potato tomato doesnt make it a tomato. Mileage is different, gas/fuel mileage is different. I think its only in India where people thinks its one and the same.Originally posted by ravik View PostLast edited by MotoBlizzard; 11-19-2017, 08:12 PM.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Will 4Ah battery affect wiring and electrical components ? Does it fit in block easily like original one ? Approx. price would be appreciated ! Sorry for many questions ☺ (True Bike_Lover) so.Originally posted by ravik View Postcompleted 3 years with gixxer. some recent changes i made:
1. battery: battery started to die. Self-problem and blank display issues. changed it to Exide XLtz4. It's a 4AH battery. I thought only 3Ah battery would fit (factory model is amco 3ah) but XLTZ4 was a perfect fit. Now horn and lights are working perfectly. no issues.
:: EXIDE INDUSTRIES LIMITED ::
SVC said Amco gives 2 years of warranty on battery. My stock ones died in 3 years. Exide, on the other hand, gives 48 months warranty.
Note: I have been using Philips extreme vision plus for past two years.
2. fog lights: installed these lights.
work well. I made connections to dipper of the headlight. However, i need suggestions for connection. I want them to lit separately from headlight. Local mechanic couldn't understand the wiring.
3. seat cushion: got a new seat in karol bagh market, delhi. the seat maker added 1 inch cushion on existing seat. but still its no joy for a pillion. My wife complained a lot during our trip to Lansdowne (from delhi).
4. Saddle Bag: if you like touring you can buy these saddle bags. good quality with enough space:
cheaper to buy in the shop. expensive on amazon. I got it from Karol Bagh.
Gixxer is still a good touring bike but pillion comfort is so bad
. Did you guys check new Suzuki Intruder 150. Looks awesome.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Guys,
I'm done with 800 kms and first service. Can I cruise at a constant speed for few (say 5-10 min) now or i should wait till 1600kms?
Also, has anyone tried and tested the optimum rpm range to up shift after the run-in period (1600kms) for decent performance + decent mileage combined?

Bhai new battery is of the same size. cost is Rs. 950. the shop owner gave Rs. 70 for the old battery. so effectively 880. the mechanic said it won't affect any wiring or electrical components. But it is yet to be tested. However, the battery is getting charged properly and till now the everything is working fine. Went on a 600 KM trip after the installation of the new battery. No issues. Check the exide link I shared. Both 3ah and 4ah battery have same charging current as well as size. The only difference is in weight. Will share long-term impact later.
I just checked Amco battery site as well. Following are the specifications for gixxer. It seems amco one is 4ah as well. charging current is however .3amps.
Model Name:ATZ4L
Free Replacement Warranty(months):0-24
Pro-Rata Warranty(Months):25-48

no daily commute. mostly long trips. have given a lot of hard times to my bike
found its power delivery much better than bullet 350. and much better in handling when it comes to driving in mountains and valleys. It's beyond my imagination why Suzuki is not introducing its 250 cc version.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Its not Suzuki thats not introducing the 250cc versions here, its SMIPL thats not introducing other models of Suzuki here. Sames goes with Honda (HMSI) and Yamaha (IYMPL) as well.Originally posted by ravik View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I had Suzuki Gixxer SF which I had sold last year as I wasn't able to use it much and sitting idle for days. And one day suddenly, it didn't start, and trips to service center didn't help as they blamed a battery and battery guys said it's fine, finally, suzuki kept it for a week and fixed. They said it was due to mixed up petrol quality. The problem was bike wouldn't start, I put on chock and give it kicks it will start but soon as I try to accelerate it would shut off. But keeping chock on worked enough to reach service center trips. Finally, I sold it after getting fixed.
I am thinking about buying a nacked version of it now because I loved the bike and was getting a decent average of 55km as I rode it properly but seems hard clutch misconfiguration and rear disc brake issues along with engine etc are everyone seems to be facing in newer models. Now I am confused if I should go for it or not. Any new buyers can comment on their experience with this year's model? Thanks

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Just finished the Fourth Free Service after 310 days of Purchase.
Gixxer SP Grey has become very smooth
Throttle Response, More Sharp and Linear
Since the brake pads are changed, the initial bite is lacking. Hopefully they bed-in soon.
Attaching the Bill for Reference.
It's been a great/thrilling city commuter ride for us, crossing 9975kms!
Cheers!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It has been a great time with my naked black Gixxer. Had an issue though which i would like to discuss that nowadays before cranking up the bike with the self starter is bit difficult. Even if the headlight is on for a minute before turning on the engine, the bike won't start and as i keep trying to turn on with the self starter the meter shows a blank display and i am like, WHAAAAAAAATTT?!
I turn off the bike and turn it on again, slowly try to press the self start and Wind the throttle and the same time and then the bike starts after few attempts.
Also the upper part of the engine makes unusual kind of shrill sound all the time which i don't think should bother but still if you guys know what it is, please let me know.
Also I'm planning to upgrade to a better headlight and horn as the stock horn doesn't suit the nature of the bike. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks in advance guys

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Battery might be losing charge. If you have a multimeter, you can check it yourself, should show 12.6-12.8 V. Ask SVC to check battery status next time or you can show it to the usual batterywala. If your bike is non-AHO, keep the headlight off while starting it.Originally posted by Manik Agrawal View PostIt has been a great time with my naked black Gixxer. A youtube 'video' of that shrill sound will make it easy for us to say what it is. Don't open throttle too much - Just open it a little bit say 1/8th to start a warm engine.Originally posted by Manik Agrawal View PostI turn off the bike and turn it on again, slowly try to press the self start and Wind the throttle and the same time and then the bike starts after few attempts. Alright i will be posting the video shortly, butas for the part of battery, if the battery is losing charge, does it need to be replaced?Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostBattery might be losing charge. Mine in non-AHO model, but during traffic light stalls at night i don't mind to turn off the headlight and only press the engine kill switch. But then after i am good to go, all the fuss happens. Anyways will be visiting the service center in some time.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It can be recharged. Stock battery of a bike usually comes 2-3 years with decent running. If it can't hold the charge, battery has to be written off. Sometimes, lose connections can cause the blank console, etc.Originally posted by Manik Agrawal View PostAlright i will be posting the video shortly, butas for the part of battery, if the battery is losing charge, does it need to be replaced?
The RPM/Engine speed drops a little bit when the headlamp is on. This is normal. So, if the idle speed of the engine is not set correctly, i.e., when the idle is set on the lower side, it will easily get switched off in signals (and when an additional load like headlamp is there). It may not be practically possible to switch off headlamp at each signal especially for city runs and also, the AHO vehicles can't do that, so don't bother about it too much.Originally posted by Manik Agrawal View PostMine in non-AHO model, but during traffic light stalls at night i don't mind to turn off the headlight and only press the engine kill switch.
