Hornet has not only bigger but heavier tyre, the chain gets loose very fast.
For 14nm torque that much heavy tyre means, more stress on the chain, because of that heavier tyre initial is low compared to Gixxer.

Being bias ply and having a normal chain doesn't help the Hornet. Although owners report that the chain issue goes away after a while. The way the Hornet engine is tuned, the low end torque is slightly weak. On the other hand unicorn 160 had terrific low end torque just like the gixxer.

I have changed to 140/70 on my gixxer, and the chain is fine, not been adjusted since the time I bought it (I don't know how, don't ask me), around 2500kms. The ride quality has become much better on bad roads.

One important thing about the Hornet. The headlight intensity is horrible. Putting a 60W isn't possible too.

Anyone knows the price of gixxer tank? Thought of replacing after some time. It's getting more and more scratches.

What are the best 'Gixxer' variants/ colors as of now, I know looks are subjective thing, but still wanna know your preference and why that particular color.

                If i where you,
I would get the white and blue and will change the rim color to the same blue, second opinion would be the Suzuki blue, that colour is just amazing to look at.

Everyone irrespective of the gender and age simply likes that colour.

                Cheers.

My brother and I were totally bowled over by the SP variant. To me the matte grey theme looks very subtle and stylish. It adds a premium aura to Gixxer, making it look like a expensive motorcycle from a segment above.
                    Cheers!

My favorite colors in general are Black's and Blue's, so right from the start I had great affinity for Metallic Triton Blue. As you said this color is just amazing to look at.

But this is subjective to one or two bikes I saw of the Metallic Triton Blue, the Blue one's I saw with keen observation inside the Service Center Arena had lost all that shine, glam, I don't know how old they were. Anyone felt the same even in a 'milder' way?

Yeah it looks premium and the SP edition Helmet is a superb add-on, thats a complete package !!!

How much extra you had to pay, as the info I collected from Suzuki showroom guys, the price of the Jacket is 1700 and Helmet (SP) is 2200( MotoGp Blue Helmet - 2300),
Is the pricing correct? I mean the Helmet looks super awesome, I think its a better choice to go for this Helmet when someone is buying a Gixxer SP.
One more thing, any idea what brand is the helmet and which model's modification/ stickering work is that? Studds?

                      Guys, please solve my dilemma

I love the Blue Gixxer which was released as the first bike(without Rear Disc brake), currently Gixxer SP too looks very appealing to me,
One thing about the disc brake, I don't ride at high speeds, I'm 99.9% in the city roads, a long journey of 250 or 300+ kms journey would be too rare too.
In the city I would be riding mostly around 40-50kmph or 50-60kmph, I had a chat with a showroom dealer guy, he told me that you can choose the Blue Gixxer without
the Rear Disc brake, it would NOT add to the maintenance cost every time and replacing it is around 5-6 times less the cost of disc brake and the bike itself costs 4,500 - 5000 less than the SP(Dual disc).

                      So, my Question is

                      1. Do I really need a Dual disc variant? The whole purpose of very high speed BRAKING is itself merely absent for me and the cost factor too!!

                      2. Is it good to buy the very first bike(Blue) when latest ones like SP edition are out with Clear LED rear light. The Blue bike is taken off from the website and
according to some showroom dealers its manufacturing is stopped. But somehow I'm getting it in one or two showrooms.

                      3. and lastly, this is about resale, would Special editions and Dual disc variants generally fare well in the Resale/ used bikes scenario?

I'm quoting myself here because in the 2nd point, there should be correction, that the Metallic Triton Blue is still in their website, Two dealers said Suzuki stopped manufacturing it, I don't think they gonna stop manufacturing it as of now as its more of 'Classic Edition'.

after 2 years, still my gear shifting is hard and some time it struck between gears. and having changed tyre to 140/70 will get little bit ground clearance, which is good for me here in hyd.
