Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I'm getting a bit jealous after reading the mileage you people are getting on your right respective Gixxers! 😂
When I first checked the mileage, I was getting around 45 kms per litre. Now I've clocked around 8700 kms on the odometer. A few days ago, I checked again by tankfull method, and I'm getting *wait for it* not more than 30 kms/l.
There isn't any drop in the performance whatsoever. It's still peppy as ever. It idles ar 1200 rpm. I'm using Motul 7100 10w40, and the engine oil level is sufficient too. Today I checked the spark plug too. It's of brown color, which is perfectly fine too, right?
Thinking of changing the petrol pump. What else might be the solution regarding the low fuel economy? And for the kind information, I ride sanely most of the time.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Its most probably the petrol pump. They might be selling adulterated fuel. I get 45 even when I'm not riding sane and close to 55 when I ride below 60.Originally posted by Fagant View PostI'm getting a bit jealous after reading the mileage you people are getting on your right respective Gixxers! 😂

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The petrol pump I go too is one of the most renowned pump in my city. I'll change the pump anyway, just to be sure. And yes, I was constantly getting upwards of 45 km/l, even after being generous with the throttle.Originally posted by Akshay Santhosh View PostIts most probably the petrol pump. Yes they must.Originally posted by Faiz Syed View Posthey everyone,
going for my second service tomorrow.can anyone tell me if service centre will change engine oil if i buy one(shell, motul etc) from parts shop and give it to them..instead of the stock oil?
Make sure you have the correct grade oil i.e., 10w40 in order to win the debate if they did get started on with usual crap "we do not use other oil brought by the customer and warranty would be void if we did so". Talk to them politely and if needed ask them to give it in writing about the warranty becoming void upon using other oil.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
None so far, I have serviced from smk porur and maya motors adyar. No satisfactory service in my opinion.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostAny good (original) oil bought from petrol pump will do. Get the smallest pack/pouch/bottle so that you can revert back to a spray if you don't like it. Like Pinaki said, wiping away the excess is important after lubing. So, did you discover a good local mechanic for you Gixxer in Chennai ?
