I think this would be the best tyre as this is the stock tyre for every gixxer.

Guys its time to change my fork oil..am not going to give it to SVC because have had experience with them..tried three SVC all of them are bad..the mechanics are just newbies who are training..they just pour the entire oil bottle, pour oil on the chain and sprocket and what not..so how much is the fork oil per fork..any. One know it?

Hello Xbhpians, this is my first post on this great platform. :-)

I am facing a minor issue/niggle with my Gixxer, during my 2nd scheduled service, (2nd feb), the svc guy suggested me not to change the oil since it had run just 1400kms since the 1st service oil change and told me to change the oil after 2k kms. Last week I completed 2k on the odo, so I went and changed the oil to Motul 10w-40 one. (didn't change the oil filter) After the oil change bike feels weird, the engine has become very rough during usual revs and bike kind of lags pick up. I went with this oil after hearing and reading all the positive reviews. Am I missing something? Does the engine take time to get used to fully synthetic oil? Could someone enlighten me?

                  Thanks in advance.

Looks like your bike has run only less kms. It is advised to switch to fully synthetic oil only after 6k-8k kms.
The performance issue couldn't be attributed to this though.

One more thing..the bike when started gives strong smell of petrol from the exhaust..not.entirely petrol smell bit similar to that.it happened like this like 6months before and now its back.

                        Thanks for your response.

I read that we can go for synthetic oils after the run-in period and after 2k kms, so I opted for it. Do we need to change the oil filter when we change the oil?

Choke is partially or fully engaged? Or are you running in a rich AFR? Just two possibilities that came to my mind.

I am not sure on the oil filter. Your user manual is your friend here. Go through it, you should be able to get the answer

Black smoke on revving is also a sign of running rich.
Other symptoms include black exhaust tip, easy cold start, reduced mileage, black sparkplug tip etc.
