I have got a query with our gixxer.
    I own a 2015 model.
Right now i am facing a weird issue that as soon as i take my hands of the throttle, the vechicle decelerates too quick ( just like slightly applying rear brake, or kind of engine breaking). But the deceleration is kind of normal if i hold the clutch (i read in one of the thread to check with clutch pulled in) . Front break is slightly less right now(i dont think the break pads are rubbing always but there is some sort of sound when i let go off the throttle). What do you guys think?

There will always be some amount of engine braking once the throttle is cut short, especially when running the engine at lower gears i.e. first and second and cut the throttle, you might feel the engine slowing down rapidly, that's absolutely normal. Also, sudden close of throttle when climbing uphill or cruising with higher RPM for that matter will cause the engine to break a little harder. The solution is to get get accustomed to it, and variate the throttle accordingly.

        Cheers!

          Hi All,

I am a proud owner of a Suzuki Gixxer 2015 edition from Bangladesh. I have been following this thread prior to my purchase of my beautiful beast. You guys are great!

My bike is 13 months and 15,000+ KMs young. So far the journey has been. You deserve a lots of thanks and you guys helped me to understand my riding partner (my bike) deeply.

Recently I have been facing some issues with my chain sprocket. I have replaced the front sprocket a couple of Thousand Kilos ago. But I reckon I should consider changing the entire setup.

          My question is -
          1. Don't you think its a tad early for my chain sprocket set to be worn out? Considering the fact that I never do "sudden acceleration", always tried to keep my chains clean and lubed.
          2. Do you suggest to switch to Rolon Chain-Sprocket set?

          Thanks in Advance

I had the same issue. I own 2015 September Gixxer and turns out the engine was running lean. I adjusted the AFR myself and after couple of adjustments, I finally settled with 2 full turns from Zero. The bike now runs much smoother and heats a lot less than it used to.

Guys i own a 2016 gixxer. Facing a problem since last 2 weeks. The problem is that if i turn on the key the display will turn on, but then turn off suddenly. No horn, no self start nothing. I would have to turn the key off and on again to get everything working. Last day this happened when i was riding. The display turned off andnthe bike shut off. No self start ni indicator, no horn. Luckily no vehicle was behind me. Stopped to the side amd turned the key off and on and everything's fine. Sometimes i only have to move the key a little bit to make it work. Whats wrong here?

Mate, you're in luck. I also had this issue on my new bike. Now i gave this to SVC to resolve the issue and they couldn't find the cause of this. This has happened to me at first after I wash the bike and sometimes at random points. So what i did was to resolve it is:

                  1. put the bike on main stand and carefully remove the bottom plate of lock assy.
                  2. When you're taking off the lock assy backplate, be careful not to drop any stuff inside the key barrel. Vital parts are:
                  • plastic bridge having springs and copper plate at both ends (This will short the circuit on key turn and provide power supply to the bike)
                  • Wired plastic cap with connectors.
                  • Another plastic cap to provide some extra space between key barrel and above mentioned parts.

                  3. Carefully remove the plastic bridge with springs and (it might pop off before you remove) and clean with some chain cleaner product and keep aside.
                  4. Carefully clean plastic cap having connectors. You'll see the track marks outside of this plate and the issue lies in here. If there is any dirt and grease stuck in here then the electric connection is not continuously given to the system. So it will shutoff the power supply to the engine. So clean this with chain cleaner product.
                  5. re-assemble the cap with wires and carefully fit plastic bridge and apply some light pressure to fit inside of the barrel. otherwise you won't be able to put back the back plate of the lock assy very easily. also it would be good to put some/very little of silicon grease inside of the back plate to ease up the plastic bridge thingy roller balls.
                  6. before tightening the screws, turn the ignition key (extra pair of hands would require) and see whether everything is good
                  7. tight the screws and done.!

Now you must do this at your own risk bro. Coz unfortunately i wasn't able to record or take some snaps of how to do this. When i'm taking off the back plate above mentioned stuff came off and i was panicked to death. so i was sweating and scared of putting it back together. However, i have had no power loss issue so far now.

                  Cheers bro.

My trusted local mechanic said the same thing. That it is doable, but have to be careful. Will give it to him soon.

Well my cousin's karizma had the same problem.he just messaged me right now. The mech took care of it. Checked my lock area. Its too dusty. Thank you for the info bro. Svc guys are pretty much useless. Since yours is a new bike, please do keep a watch on the cylinder head bolts. There are two of them, you may face oil leak from there in small amounts. Me and few of my friends have it. Svc told to change the cylinder head. None of us have done it so far. All of us have done 28k km plus. No big oil leak. So left it like that.

Yeah man, my stupid hod svcs said the power line was loosen and they fixed it and this has happened the next day again. [emoji23][emoji23] well that explains how idiotic they are. So i wanted to fiddle around little bit and it led to 2 hours full on panic mode. [emoji23] anyway, i was glad to post about it here and hope others can fix their issues by looking at this. [emoji41]

I stopped giving the bike to the showroom after the second free service. Told them there was oil leak and the manager told dont worry sir we will take care of it and when i reached evening and asked about the leak he said he fixed it and took me to the mechanic and asked about the leak and the mech was like-leak what leak? 😂 he was only told to change the oil and filter. So the mech took a glance and told yea let's change the cylinder head. Took my bike form there and never went back. Have been giving it to my mech.Do keep an eye on the cylinder head.
