    I was just wondering, has anyone tried to fit the lower portion of the fairing from the SF on the naked gixxer?
    Or can the lower faring (don't what it's supposed to be called) from any other bike be fitted on the bike?
    If someone was able to achieve this then please post some pics and some details about the process.

      In fact, this is the same leak that was observed in a two month old bike that my friend purchased. This clearly indicates a poor design of the stator wire boot from Suzuki, and boy does it oil leak. A quick solution is to apply gasket maker or silicone sealant in between the cap and the cover body and let it heal for about three to four hours and then observe if there is any leak. Using gasket sealants and silicone sealants arrests oil leak between metal and rubber related parts, especially O-rings.

      The girl said, 'NO!'

      And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        Do anyone know the cost of chain set? Also the number of teeth for front and rear sprocket?

            Gixxer and Gixxer SF share the same chain-sprocket kit. Actually, there is no kit for the Gixxer as the three components come seperately.

            Chain Assembly -> ( Part. No 27600-30H40-132 ) ( Rs. 576 ) ( R428, Non O-Ring, 132 Links )

            Drive Sprocket -> ( Part. No 27511-30H10-000 ) ( Rs. 311 ) ( aka Front/Engine Sprocket ) ( 15 Teeth )

            Driven Sprocket -> ( Part. No 64511-34J10-000 ) ( Rs. 399 ) ( aka Rear Sprocket ) ( 45 Teeth )

            Total Cost -> Rs. 1286/-.

              Hi guys,

              I posted in the Gixxer SF ownership thread but didn't get any reply, so posting again here.

              I have a GIxxer SF 2 years old Carb model which has done around 27k kms (lots of long rides and a little bit of off-roading as well). Of recently I have been facing issue wherein the bike when it hits around 85 or 90 in 5th gear and I let go of the throttle and instantly open it again, there is a second of lag (similar to how you feel if air filter is getting blocked at times) before the power actually comes. Also around around 110 it will start giving me jerks like not enough air is reaching the engine.

              I have been trying to figure out the reason for a couple of months now but to no avail. i got the air filter changed first but that didn't help. Then I took it to the service center and the technician said the Clutch Plate is gone, he changed that and the clutch cable along with the chain and sprocket as well and that also didn't help. Can somebody help me figure out what the issue could be? I even checked the spark plug just in case it was dirty or something and its been changed recently as well.

              Its been an excellent bike and because of this I'm getting too frustrated because all Suzuki people are doing is change this and change that and see if it fixes the issue. The issue is still there and I don't feel like taking the bike back to them and I don't have any trusted mechanics outside.

              Please help!!

                After much searching and much discussions in this forum I bought a preowned Gixxer red black dual disc variant 1yr 4 months old, 14000 km, pictures included, Now I have a few things to ask,
                1. If the bike stays in the sun for some times the tank gets heated up and a smell of petrol comes from the tank cap, also if i try to smell the tank cap on normal temperature there is a slight scent of petrol can be smelt. Is it normal or the tank cap is faulty, I took a very good look at the tank cap but there is no sign of any abnormal wear to the inner rubber ring.
                2. Because the bike was sold off the bike was unused for a long time, the battery was discharged, so I took it to a mechanic and he charged it but in the night when I have my headlamp on sometimes it happens that when I press the starter switch the display goes blank and ones again it lits up. Should I change the battery or it can be revived?

                  Hi

                  Here is my H4 LED light for my Gixxer. Actually i cancelled the order & ordered a new single LED bulb. I was thinking how to fix the bulb with the rubber cap then i dismantled the LED, de-soldered the wires & removed the aluminium cooling fins and attached the to rubber cap. Once it is done i soldered the wires in its respective places. Done... Pics of Low beam & High beam... It really looks nice....

                    This one seems to have Yamaha R3 headlights, can anyone confirm/correct me?

                      1. Smell of petrol is normal. It will be present on any bike thats standing under the sun for a long time.

                      2. Not sure about this, others might be able to help. Since the bike is not so old and has a pretty low mileage, I dont think the battery has any issue. Check it with a SVC once as well. Is the bike still under warranty? (Was the bike serviced regularly in an ASC?)

                        I dont know about the service schedule as I still haven't received the service book. But as per my knowledge Suzuki warranty is for 2 years and as the motorcycle is only 1.3yrs old it should be under warranty. But the battery issue is very rare now. I think the battery wasnt fully charged but as I put on a few miles its regaining its power.

                        Thanks for your reply though

                          The warranty holds only if the bike is serviced at an ASC at the prescribed scheduled intervals. If any 1 service is missed, the warranty becomes void.

                              Just take a switch with two ends say (+)wire being red colored and plug it in the (+)wire of the LHS indicator which will be of voilet colored and the (-)wire of the switch(black color wire ) to be put on the RHS (+)indicator plug (i suppose its of green color or maybe voilet.

                              Note:- Both the individual wires of the switch are to be plugged in individually in the positive terminal of the indicator wires !

                              This method doesn't require cutting of any wires so warranty is intact!
                              I have been using this on my sf

                                It's surprising to see, mechanics leave out a simple thing as the carburettor tuning and check the ignition system. Lag in acceleration like the one that you've mentioned, aren't caused by faulty clutch, or chain sprocket. A lag almost always means a faulty fuel feed system and poor ignition. I'd suggest you start off with cleaning your carburettor, get the AFR adjusted. Secondly, check for the ignition i.e. how well the spark plug fires and is the spark quality good, this is done by checking the spark at the plug and the right continuity.

                                Get your carburettor cleaned and the AFR tuned and your spark plugs checked with any good local mechanic. Keep it posted here.

                                Cheers!
