I do understand your concern incase the price mentioned in TV /paper never existed you can enquire/complain to company or consumer forums saying a false information is being spread.I agree ignorant ill informed customers are taken for a ride.I am not confused at all either or some other person said if a dealer is charging 4-5k extra over the OTR we should not bother as it is business if they charge around 10k then we should that argument is my point.Anyhow I dont want to stretch further my point is plain and simple as a customer you need to pay only the OTR as stated by suzuki if you are over charged question/complain period

Finally booked black Gixxer. Waiting time minimum 20 days. They say that Suzuki prefers north India market and is supplying less bikes to south India. Anyways earlier the better. Apparently blue is the one most sought after color.

As far as the car thing goes, I was trying to say the same thing. That dealers don't cheat, that its a bid to attract buyers (I mentioned the asterisk they put next to the price to signify that its not the actual price). However I having bought the car would like to point out that for vw the price quoted on tv as starting from in fact doesn't exist on their pricing chart for any model and lowest ex-showroom starts at 6lakhs, which any way you look at it pretty much is cheating.
There is no confusion in any of this. I was explaining how an ill informed customer can form ideas based on internet speculations and tea time rants. Ideas which couldn't be further from the truth. So I really don't understand why you felt confused.
I still somewhat dont agree with you..

For the VW case which you described they mention the starting price, there are variants, they show ex-showroom price which most companies do - they never declare on-road price.

On-road means you have to pay all the other components on an above ex-showroom which should also include dealer margin which Company decides, since it is their product and these dealers are just middlemen.
So if the dealer quotes anything above on road it goes in his pocket on above his dealer margin.

If the difference is small then its fine to charge the "other charges" in your quotation...
What is the case with GS150, Unicorn or FZ...do they just show ex-showroom ??

Thats why I was wondering & I said in one of the posts Fz being cheaper by 2k than Gixxer here in Pune....Yam dealer gave me one quotation which had only 3 components - ex shroom price, insurance & RTO thats it!! Now tell me where is your "Dealer margin"???
I can upload both Gixxer & Fz quotations if you want!

        ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

BTW, I remember reading reviews of Gixxer, where most had claimed Gixxer to be cheaper than old Fz by 2-3k...which is wrong!

Guys dont break your head over the dealer margin as a customer we dont have means to know how much a dealer earns with each bike. Why talk of a bike even a day to day item like a soap if you go to a mall or big shop they sell at MRP and some small shops sell less than mrp we cant really say who makes how much so take out the entire dealer margin they all make make good profits. As far as Gixxer is concerned pay as per OTR if the margin of difference is a few hundreds just ask for reason if it is in thousands take up with Suzuki.
Salil quotations/invoice dont mention the dealer margin its an unknown figure they put on paper only the things you mentioned nothing more. With regard to Gixxer costing lesser than FZ its FZ v2 not the old FZ.Gixxer was pitted against new FZ and it is cheaper than it.

Yeah........... Dude I know because that is the point I was trying to make actually. People tend to take these ads and promotional materials on face value because they don't know the logic and business strategy behind it. So you again basically said what I said.
And vw doesn't have any variant of the polo for ex-showroom price of 4.89lakhs. There was one a year or so ago that was discontinued but no more. I know, I bought the car so I know.
Anyway, advertisements are made to highlight what is apealing to the public or the purpose of the ad is beaten. But people end up believeing what is advertised to be the only truth and then end up disapointed when faced with the truth.
But really we have gone WAY off topic here so lets discuss the star of the show, the Suzuki Gixxer here instead.
            Cheers

              Congratulations!!!

Where in bangalore did you book it? 20 days seems to be along the lines of what most dealers are saying.

I booked at 9-star suzuki on Oct'23rd!!!!, and i was guaranteed only yesterday that in exactly 15 days i will get it!!
Only myself to blame..was told when booking i will have to wait only 2 weeks...what a naive fool i was!

Getting my blue today For other colors nine star hosur road had said waiting of only 5 days for me few weeks ago. Do check with different retailers in Bangalore. Check in retailers at little out skirts of city, they would have stock of red, grey and black most of time as I had enquired almost everywhere in Bangalore.

Juz put the bike on main stand, rotate the front wheel & check if the wheel bend is there.....If so show that to service center & get it replaced.....

Having hard time to rotate the front wheel on main stand and check for alloy bend (the bike is heavy towards front and light at the rear).
Will get the bike to the SVC in the afternoon and get the alloy and forks checked. Thanks, guys.

Get someone to hold the backend to the ground buddy, your front wheel will be lifted off a bit. Then try rotating it.

As @elangoas points out, a Philips/star head screw driver should suffice. However, you may want to keep the MugGuard extension & screws together. Coz, I lost the screws of GS150R's MudGuard extension & had to buy new ones from SVCs.

Even after booking my bike, which is almost a month ago, I kept trying with other retailers since the booking cancellation will cost only 250. So I was ready cancel my booking if some one assured me quicker delivery. As I had enquired all the outlets (hosa road, chandapur, Attibele) they had all other colors except blue. Then in desperation few days ago I even enquired at mysore retailers and they were ready to deliver in 5 days but by that time even the hosa road guys also assured of restock and delivery. So if need immediately try in far away places. And other thing that definitely helped me is continuous follow up after booking (I really needed urgently).

Took the bike to the SVC and the service supervisor and the chief mechanic test-rode the bike and confirmed the wobble and found that there is a bend in the alloy. I have been asked to leave the bike at the SVC on Monday. Guess, this is the same case as @elangoas.
