Is there any difference between the two?

Officially, none! Unofficial news going around on the internet at the moment is that Suzuki India after hearing all the rusting related complaints raised with them in the last couple of months have decided to coat the bike/parts of the bike with an anti-rust coating for bikes manufactures from January 2015 onwards. Not sure how true this is.

Anyone knows how to get rid of the rear mudguard, since one will also lose the side indicators? Any way to remove the mudguard but keep the indicators? Maybe LED strip replacements?
Even if it was 25000km I wouldn't mind saying that. How do I know that you've been riding CBR250R well for 2500km? And I really wonder how you could say that you didn't know to take tight turns/ found it difficult even after riding that bike for 2500km. And kms covered doesn't show your skill when you're making such a comment on a very good bike. And that 2500km can be made in very different ways and how do I know that you gained maximum skills with that? :P LOL, again. Its from what you're saying here. So be precise. Do not be judgemental about a bike with whatever you've ridden as your exeprience.

1 month and 350 on the odometer later ,I've had a few issues with the bike. Nothing which hinders the raw power but mostly related to the digital console.
~5th gear doesn't show up sometimes on running
~gears are not displayed when on neutral(it won't go past 2nd gear on the console to be precise)
~clicking noise at the front when at 500rpm(bike idling set at 1k rpm)
The mileage is low as well at around 44 kmpl
So I bought this to the notice of the people at the service center and they agreed to look into all the issues
One day later I pickup my bike from SVC and I notice that the console issues are still there, they probably didn't even bother to check the instrument cluster. But the clicking noise had disappeared ,but I couldn't check as it never dropped to 500rpm(even on cold start surprisingly). The performance was also noticeably better and adds up with what other people have reported in this thread.

I'll post mileage results after first service soon as well.in the meantime, any thoughts on this?anybody facing the same issues?

Even in my case 5th gear doesnt show sometimes when I shift from 4th but the bike runs. I need to shift again then it displays.
Am getting a mileage of 40-45 kmpl and due for the 1st service. Engine now feels a bit rough as I have crossed 60 kmph and it produces a hissing sound. Once I go below 60 it calms down.

At least the CBR has an excuse for the bad steering angle in its huge fairing.Thats what I meant. LOL. And did I say I don't know how to take tight turns? Please don't put words in my mouth. The 200NS has no reason to have such a small steering angle is what I meant, and said, again.

And seriously,if I DID ride the CBR well (which I did),you would know? Lol. I gave an opinion based on how it felt to ride the 200NS in REAL LIFE. You are being judgemental about me by ASSUMING that I did not ride the CBR well. And if you're thinking, just in case, that I'm a Bajaj or Pulsar hater, please know that the 200NS was on the top of my list right until the moment I test drove it. There is a thread I opened long back in the "What Bike?" section. Check that out if you will.Man oh man you replied to me on that thread (just checked).

And perhaps our standards of what defines a good bike are different. For you an Apache RTR 180 ABS is a good bike. For me the CBR 250R is a good bike. I used to call the CBR a car on two wheels. The Gixxer 155 easily beats the CBR 250R in comfort, which is saying an awful lot.I don't think the 200NS OR the Apaches for that matter beat the CBR or even come close to the CBR250R in any aspect.

Lets not nitpick and lets just end this off topic discussion here. Sorry Gixxer owners for hijacking this thread (not on purpose,of course). I won't reply to anyone who quotes my earlier post again and take up space in this thread.

You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

Bad steering angle huh..? Guess you'll also compare fz1 or z1000 with your gixxer and say man ,gixxer is great ,it turns like a bicycle and ofcourse, goes like one too.
Gixxer, ns and cbr are totally different breed and worlds apart. Its like comparing honda amaze to city to cruze (in that order). While gixxer is for normal commuter who wants something good than ordinary pulsar, Ns is for those who want max in 1 lakh ,bang for the buck to see fz,rtr etc sub lakh bikes and even above in their RVM ,cbr is for the elite touring class ,who aren't for zig zag but like to feel how a big litre bike will feel.

I just mentioned not to say ill about the bike without riding it extensively. He took every bit of what I said in the wrong sense which I never meant. I find this miscommunication happening here a lot. So its better to let them be judgemental. For here, the questions and assumptions turn into statements and judgements.

I never intended anything like what you're saying now. If you can't understand even after my saying it again with slashes or brackets or 'ors' , please don't continue to form ill opinion about any bike without riding it extensively. As you said I would say rtr is a good bike and not 'the' best bike. I would also say Pulsar 200 NS is 'a' good bike contradicting your statement. And not 'the' best. And also I would say the same for CBR. you are posing whatever I told as a question against me. Don't come out here in virtual media bragging or trying to make others know how skilled you are using texts. Thats what I meant by asking you how well would we know how good of a rider you are. it doesn't matter even if a person has a superbike he must not necessarily know how to use it fully or ride other smaller bikes with poise. So period. Understand and ride safe.

While I was cruising today I tried to find out the max RPM acheivable. So I put it in the 3rd gear and revved it. It rocketed to 10,000rpm. But after about 11,5000 it felt as if the bike was choking. It didn't rev up to 13,000RPM. I was at 90kmph and felt as if someone was pulling from behind.
Why did that happen? Is something wrong with the bike?
Also, I found a little burning smell when I stopped.

                        9.5 is too low
I felt it near 11.5-12k. Thats nearly the end of the RPM band.
If it is near 9.5k, get the carburretor checked. Because mine easily blasts past 10k.

PS- I'm not saying about rpm when the bike is in 5th gear. It is in the 3rd or better still, in neutral.

                          Very few red-line their motorcycles.

11,500 RPM means 96 spark ignitions per second.

Try with a G-Power plug, NGK CPR7EAGP-9, MRP around 150/- or less.

That's the rev limiter cutting in to prevent excessive revving of the engine. No issues with the engine or carb. Everything is fine..
