My air pressure is normal and suspension works good but on really good roads, I can feel the front wheel wobbling which in turn makes the handlebar wobble a little bit which is noticeable. I have asked for a front wheel replacement which I'll get done in the next two weeks.

I don't know if this is still a problem in current production batches but the initial batches of bikes during launch had this issue.
The last time I rode my bike I faced a similar issue. The bike felt like it was wobbling at low speeds. Could low air pressure cause this?
Have you managed to solve your problem?

I've got another issue as well. The bike turns of when I give it a negligible amount of throttle when warm. I'll be at a signal, and the bike will be idling okay, but then when the light turns green, I twist the throttle and I've got a dead zone. The engine turns off when I twist the throttle slightly, even if the bikes in neutral, or I've got the clutch completely depressed. The engine seems to get very warm as well. What could the issue be?

Is due to the fact that the Gixxer SF's aerodynamic body work is extensively wind-tunnel tested that gives it an edge over the Naked Gixxer?.
I think if you are riding within the city, then the FE would be better than the SF, because there is lesser weight to accelerate and keep you in lower gears. But if you are going to ride in the highway, then the SF will give more FE because of the reduced wind blast. The review also said that from 0-60, the naked was faster, but at 100 the SF caught up and edged the naked out.

However i feel that the SF will also make sense in the city, to compensate for that really tiny plastic called the fender at the front wheel (if its so tiny, don't know why its even there). Atleast one will not have to put that ugly Jugaad and instead the full fairing will protect the rider from getting wet and will also help in aerodynamics and cooling the engine.

My only worry on the SF is the ground clearance.

Iinitially when the Gixxer SF was launched, I believed the relationship btw the Naked Gixxer and the Gixxer SF is going to be the same kind of relationship btw the naked Yamaha FZ16/FZS and its faired sibling the Fazer. What do you think?

I suspect your carb tuning is rich and the idle screw is not adjusted well. That must be the reason it sputters.

Its common in smaller bikes with digital fuel gauge. You can use the warranty and ask the SVC to check on it if the problem persists. I suggest you to not worry about it and know when your bike runs out of fuel as this will help you more when you are going for long or for days without refuelling

Not a biggie, I usually fill up when I hit reserve. And yeah i read online that it's very common. So I thought the fix maybe easy. If not, I'll mention it at the next service, which must be around next month.

No. I'm having this problem for the past 1 week. My scv is very near by only but due to tight schedule I'm not able to check with them. Just now I filled petrol for Rs 500 bcoz of price hike. I may have 3 lts of petrol + another 7.5 lts of petrol but 1 bar left. Sure there is an issue. Reached 3.8k kms & due for 2nd service.

It is for RPM alert. If you rev above the limit of say 4.5k your RPM light will blink.

I didn't say your bike is from a old batch! What I meant is that random production issues in the factory might show up again which results in a defective wheel/other parts. In this case I suspect you have the same problem as mine. Insist them to replace the wheel and see if that fixes the issue.

Are you both having this problem when the bike is on side stand or on the main stand? The manual says the digital fuel gauge will display wrong readings in side stand. My bike always shows one bar less on side stand. After a minute of moving it upright and started riding the bike, the correct reading gets displayed.

I really need some suggestion guys.
I have been reading the thread for the last one week. it is so useful, i got so many informations. thank you guys for educating me.
I was attracted to bike when i was a teenager, but there was no fund, nobody to backup. I grown up by my own. a bicycle was the best i could get in those days.
then moved abroad for job and used to visit home every year for 30 days. i was using rented bikes during those times. but now bike rentel in my area is almost vanished since
there are strict police instruction because the rented bikes were used for robbery and other illegal activities. last time it was hard to get one and decided to buy one next time. and in this October i am due for the next visit, and wants to buy one. gixxer is my choice.
                          But there are some concerns:

I would use the bike for 30-40days and then it will be left unused in the garage for another 11 months. there are no trustworthy friends around,
so i am not letting anyone else having the key.

                          1. what will be the problems if a bike kept unused for this much longer period?
                          2. what are measures to be taken for keeping the bike unused?
                          3. how to manage the battery?

i hardly get time for the first service, but then cant keep up the schedule for 2nd service and so on. will that be a problem?
                          3. will the svc deny servicing if i failed in keeping schedule?

whats you advice guys. i cant really make up my mind.

                          thanks in advance.

                            Hi

My advice is don't buy any bike for just 1 month use. Also investing nearly 87k for just 1 month & balance 11 months the bike will kept unused. Better ahead & buy used bike for cheaper rate & you can even sell off once you are moving to abroad. If you really need to buy gixxer then you need to maintain at least one in 6 months even if it is unused. Gixxer comes with sealed battery ( no maintenance) need to charge manually once in 3 months. Empty the petrol tank & park in a safe place, use some cover to it. Leave the engine oil as it is in the engine. But if you decided to use the bike remember you need to replace the oil.
