    2. I have been extremely busy and the service center has very strict hours, as a result my gixxer now stands at 1100 km, without yet having had its first service... How harmful is this? Should I do some basic stuff (say, an oil change) myself till the time i can take it for a proper service?

I think all ur paper work is complete. But sorry to say that your already exceeded 1000 kms. I think ur scv will not accept ur bike for service. Check for oil level if oil is very less do some top up. It is advisable that take it to scv ASAP.

Seems like your dealer has forgotten to give you a Gixxer manual. Go ask them for it as it also contains the warranty card for the bike. As for your first service, take it to the service centre and get it done asap. 1000 km is just a number. Plus or minus 100 shouldn't be a problem.

Been following that noise-problem posts here. I do not know how far this is true. I heard from a suzuki service centre mechanic that as part of SEP technology, there is a jet inside the engine(closer to valves above bore) that sprays engine oil during revving. So it could be the sound of the oil dripping at idle revvs or during long runs at higher revvs. This sound might not be over heard from the intake roar of the engine and wind during travel. So just confirm this and its common on many gixxers as well.

        Cheers.

Did my 3rd servicing yesterday. I was getting reduced mileage figures of about 45. So asked the SVC guy to adjust the tuning. He did so. I guess he did it by one full clockwise turn. I also insisted on changing the spark plug as said in the user manual but they didn't do it stating that it isn't necessary.

Now since yesterday I'm getting a bit sluggish power delivery at about 5000rpm. It feels as if the throttle is jammed and the bike is under some heavy load. Though you won't notice this change unless you are used to the clean punchy torque of this bike. The mileage is now at 55kmpl but I'm missing out the fun.

When I called that SVC guy today he told me not to mess with the AFR screw and said that I need to change the spark plug.

Now I'm confused what to do. The sound has also become somewhat shallower.
The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...

Exactly same problem iam facing like yours.

A week back bike performed brilliantly but now it has became sluggish.
Tought its because of engine oil so changed it but still the sluggishness didnt vanished.

I think its purely the tune of the carb and nothing else.
As I said before, I was facing a similar issue before, the tune was towards efficiency(lean?)..and steady idle at 1k rpm.
Told the SVC and now, it idles steadily between 1.2-1.5 k rpm...and revving like how I took her out on the first day.
Would suggest you ask the SVC to tune it so that your bike idles STEADILY at 1.2-1.5 k rpm....this is a good measure to check on the state of tune of your carb.

Hey guys... Have clocked around 300 km... I have a problem... Guess you guys can help... My bike feels a little bouncy in slow speeds... Irrespective of road... I asked the service center guys and they did tightened the front disc. I checked with the local mechanics and they had different advice's... Maybe the tire pressure is high... I reduced it. Maybe the wheel alignment is not right... Maybe something to do with front disc brakes... Dunno...

When I visited the SVC they said they will sort it out in first service....

Can anyone tell me what could be problem... In simple words it feels like riding on uneven roads even while I am on butter smooth roads.

Please help as I do not want to go for first service without knowing the problem.

I guess @6.5k RPM it could cruise all day long, couldn't it?

                              well..80-85km/hr is more comfortable...but @90km/hr it's way better than other 150cc bikes...

Same here bro...mileage was 43kmpl... Asked svc to tune the bike for better mileage... Now it feels, as you said "under some heavy load"...feels like something is chocking the bike...
