Guys , my bike idles at 1k rpm right from the time out of showroom. Does it mean carb has been tuned to lean?

AFR at a given RPM doesn't necessarily remain same in rest of the throttle openings.

But it is desired to have idle-rpm within recommended range, must be there in owner's manual.

Just ask them to keep an eye on the valve clearance yours being a new bike. Run in almost done with and clearances must be set.

Is it compulsary to adjust tappets during the first service?
My tappets was adjusted at 6.8k on the odo that too after forcing the mechanic to adjust them.

First service has many critical service points to cover, only an experienced owner/motorcyclist will insist on getting them done from SVC in person.

                Hi,

I bought my blue Gixxer on 17th May in Delhi, till date i haven't got the registration number. i am riding with temp number sticker.
how long does it take to get the registration done in RTO. The sales person who sold me the bike told me that he will give me user manual, service book and second key along with the RTO documents once registration is done. I paid half amount as cash and half as cheque and cheque is already cleared 2 days back.

I do not know why people buy and DRIVE vehicles unregistered invase there is mishap it would be very difficult to convince insurance co.

I am posting as a concern not against anyone but there has been incident a day or two days back where a persons NEW Unicorn hardly 15 to 30 days old bike was burnt to ashesh he was ON TC NUMBER nobody knows who and when !!!

i think INSURANCE starts with the date of registration so i am just hoping the victim gets enough remedy and yes fellow XBhphians be careful !!!

                  Otherwise just Drive it crazy

Engine components bed in during running in phase hence you can get the clearances checked and adjusted if the need be. After all, the initial kms are important and I wouldn't want clearances to be off spec.

I am one of those ppl, crashed my duke 200 before registration. Insurance papers me too the start of coverage date and last date as well. For me it was the day of the accident. However, it is risky to drive without registration

Try MOTOMAX wax polish for 70 rs 60grams i have tried and surprisingly works well

But use it properly to get shiny surface

I was not having another option as i moved to Delhi last week and needed a ride to go to my work which is 22 km from residence and public transport was not a suitable option.
Could you tell me how much time it takes to registered a vehicle. its almost 5 days and still no registration.

No Buddy i have not done it, regular washing and polishing is more than enough to maintain the shine. Teflon is expensive and not that worthy.

Hey everyone, my cousin wants to buy a Gixxer but has this one question in mind : can the Naked Gixxer be converted to the SF later on?
The problem is he loves the SF and wants to buy it right away, but sadly he doesn't have the budget to buy the SF right now. However he has it in mind that he'd like to convert to an SF later, say after a year or so, when he saves up the cash to buy the fairing panels and cowl as on the SF. Is it possible? Please advise as there is a good deal on a Naked Gixxer that has come his way...saves almost 10k as compared to buying a brand new one and has clocked just 2000 kms. The seller is selling it because he has to shift elsewhere. Will check the bike thoroughly before deciding whether to buy that or a brand new Gixxer. But again, can the Naked Gixxer be converted to an SF?
