After my completing my 2nd service 2 weeks back I tuned my AFR screw 3 days back to lean mixture. I able to smell something worst like tyre burning kind of smell from engine. Is my engine is overheating now? The smell is coming after I ride for 10-15 kms.Tried adjusting the idle screw while the engine is in warm. It revs in 3k RPM once the engine is heated up. Shall I go back to factory setting ?

Why screw the screw and screw the engine? Kindly run on the correct AFR and keep the engine and bike happy.The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

If AFR is too lean then the idle RPM will fluctuate like you mentioned. I checked my bike's sparkplug color & found more carbon deposits that is y I tuned the AFR screw. Also I fill petrol in company owned BP petrol pump. Sure I'll go back to the old setting. Looks like you were running on rich mixture. Running on lean mixture isn't good and will affect the health of engine in long run.The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Hello guys...
My grey Gixxer has completed 1600+ after I got her on March 8th. 1st service was done last month. After a week of service, the chain started making the signature 'kat-kat' sound so I took the bike to the A.S.S. They suggested me for a chain cleaning process which could cost me around 150 bucks.
Since the bike was serviced just a week before, why would they recommend the chain job again? Nevertheless, I got back home and lubed the chain with regular 'fresh' engine oil and the noise disappeared. Now again after a week or so the sound has returned again. I DO NOT trust the Suzuki service guys one bit. Is there something I could do by myself?

Also, use gear oil to lube. Engine oil won't be able to stay on the chain for long.

Even i had the same issue!..Actually it's not the chain sound...it is the sound the speed sensor which is connected to the chain in the front sprocket near the engine!...If you remove the front casing which covers the front sprocket and chain you can see that!....The sound will disappear gradually when you clock more kms!..Currently i have completed 3500Kms,the sound has disappeared!Originally posted by eddyjamerson View PostHello guys...

This is common in all gixxers even I also faced the same before my 2nd service & the same was not sorted out during service & ask them to align the chain, sprockets evenly. Now the noise is vanished. I suggest you to do it in roadside workshop. He ask for 30 bucks with proper response to ur query. Service center mechanics are very rude & they don't do the work properly. You can't stuff the raincoat under the seat...Even if you do you will be blocking the air flow/intake to the carb and will choke the engine while running!....I had a bad experience with that...once the owner's manual had blocked the air passage under the seat while riding on city ....Suddenly the bike dropped the speed from 60km/h to 40km/h and i was not able to go above 40km/h!...It's very dangerous if any vehicles are tailgating you!Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostGuys since monsoon is here, do you think that the space under the seat have enough room to accomdate a rain coat ?

I suggest not to keep anything under the seat except few bike papers that too near the tail light. If u keep the rain coat under the seat that will block the air which is very much needed for the engine to breath. Guys one more doubt, does this digital fuel indicator have any standard scale ? I mean 1 block = 2/3 litter of petrol something like that ?.
Got my bike day before yesterday evening and from full tank I am now at 100km on ODO now one block is down in fuel meter. How about this values ? I know can't expect anything before first service and it is too early to judge still just to understand my ride.
