I didn't get your point - "An indicated reserve can come when there are x +-y litres in the tank". Actually we are not at all concerned about how much fuel is left in the tank when following this method.
1) We just reset trip meter when bike hits reserve.
2) Fill petrol for say Rs. 300
3) Mark the trip reading when bike hits reserve again. Mileage = kms/litre of petrol filled. Thats it.

If you are riding on almost flat roads and maintain tire pressures properly, this method is almost fine. I haven't seen much of fluctuations than, say +/- 3kms per litre.

Now, it may not be necessary that you get a petrol pump in the immediate vicinity. You ride ahead for few km. How do you now calculate the amount of fuel left?
You can only guess, right?
Will full tank method there is nothing to guess at all.

We easily use the 1 or 2 liters of petrol after hitting reserve. But filling tank full of petrol & using it for a week or more. Following this procedure in summer there more chances for petrol evaporation.

But also we don't know how much fuel they filled. Chances are more in cheating the public.

Best way is to buy petrol in 1 Lt water bottle & filling it once the bike hits reserve.
Just follow my shadow.

You have a point.
But evaporation of petrol is at 95 Celsius.
Also loss due to vapors is an impossible figure to determine, unless you are god in Advanced thermodynamics. Also such a figure will be infinitesimally small compared to the larger delta of when your tank flashes reserve.
Also, nowadays at shell, full tank means they regularly fill to the brim...with a Max. Delta of 0.05 to 0.1 l, which when you factor into averages is a ridiculously small amount.

All things considered, as Divyasharan stated, full tank method is the sure fire way of determining real world avg. Across a spectrum of various riding conditions. It is definitive, allowing the least amount of errors/variables to creep into your calculations.

God reference was uncalled for, any way here's what human kind has to say about it:

Man,
I didn't mean to attack anyone personally with that reference.
Its a 'figure of speech'..that's all.
Coming to the article..once again despite a lot of evidence of fuel vaporisation, it states that there is no definitive way to calculate exact fuel loss. The closest estimate is 3.8 litres per year due to vaporisation, which is roughly 0.3 litres per month. Accounting for that in you calculation, will mostly bump your FE by 1kmpl or 2 at most, which is still infinitesimally small, and still fairly inaccurate.
Still, fuel vaporisation is still part of the running in engine life...and given all such factors...a tank to tank full method still provides the most accurate way.
I rely on it, doesn't mean others have to.
Please use whatever you are confident with. That's all.

Cheers!

Am one of the proud owners of this young suzuki. With my buddy for the last 6 months i enjoy his ride a lot. Happy with the performance and mileage of 50kmpl average. Now i am behind modifying him with a belly pan and ppf (paint protection film). Since mine is a white and requires most of my time spending on cleaning my beast. Can anyone suggest better ways for bellypan and ppf? Am attaching a pic which i edited from sf? Pls reply

I scraped my gear paddle along a plantation wall and it got twisted.. since i was in college the only way was to get to a roadside mechanic which my gf suggested(I was planning to go to Suzuki).. So i took it there.. there were some other boys with pulsars n all.. as i entered all started to stare.. i went to one of the mechanic boys n told him the problem.. he came with his tools n asked.. "is this a 150cc bike?" I told yea n he began working.. and the other people started murmuring n whispering...

Sf faring comes in three pieces. You can order the engine guard section at the nearest svc. There is a provision to mount the engine guard. Its officially confirmed.

Full fairing cannot be done right?

Nope. Full faring requires some welding, etc. And also in the process, you'll end up paying more than the SF itself.
I have problems with the front mud guard. Since gixxer has a short mud guard, my shoes get dirty with after riding on wet roads. All that dirt and mud splash from the front tyre gets accumulated on the engine and on your feet. I made a complaint to Suzuki and received a reply that there is a provision for fixing sf engine guard. It will cost somewhere between 3 to 4k.
