Yes. Spoke to the service supervisor. Though nobody had tried it yet, he assured me that they have received communication in this regard. May be I'll be the first to try it in Kochi... but am a little apprehensive about spending 4k...

Was the chain cold, O-Ring-Chain tighten up a bit, don't they? warm the chain(riding few kms).

If it's indeed the sprocket, which one, front-sprocket (drive) or the rear-sprocket (driven)?
you mean it's loosely mounted ?

I share your feelings, 3-4 k is too much for that sf-engine-guard. I'm not sure if that guard would save you from mud-splashes either.

The noise was coming from behind the suspension...middle part of the bike.. nah chain was not cold..

oh no, don't spend that much for this seasonal problem. When you're on wet roads its good to clean the bike often and dry it asap after the ride. So better take the pain of doing it and get the bike cleaned. As I have seen during my purchase, the lower part of the fairing needs a drilling on to the frame near the engine. Why spoil the bike for this, although the drilling will be smaller?

And moreover the engine cowl needs to be cleaned too :P and that wouldn't prevent your legs getting dirty :P :P

juzzz deaaaal wid it.

I found this issue few months back. Its bcoz of the front sprocket that is not aligned with the chain. People thought that this is bcoz of not lubing the chain. This misalignment happens bcoz of our riding style & uneven roads, potholes etc. One thing we need to check the sprocket teeths should not have contact with chain. If it does have contact there comes the noise.

I've mentioned the same here few months back.

I get lot of buzz under seat and on foot pegs after crossing 6k RPM. Also, when I close the throttle from 7-8K RPM, the engine is gruff. Does anyone has this issue?

Best way is to buy petrol in 1 Lt water bottle & filling it once the bike hits reserve.

43 kmpl is OK. Most of the gixxer owners are getting mileage between 40-45 kmpl. Max 48 kmpl. I think this is excellent figure for 150cc segment.

Thanks for your reply. Glad to know u are a kochiyan. Two months back i had asked VTJ suzuki dealers at Kundanoor rearding the availability of sf belly pan but they were not aware about it. Again any idea about ppf in kochi? Or i would prefer some clear sticker to protect my rear hand rails...

mmkUNI in this thread tried riding his sf on wet roads and he tells me that faring takes all the dirt; his shoes don't get dirty.

Regarding PPFs i know that 3M has launched them. But i have no idea about their availability in Kochi.
I was the first person to take up mud splash issue with the VTJ Suzuki. They are playing fools. Their response is like "mud splashing??? Oho!!??" Then i wrote to the Area Manager, who says it is being considered by the design team and that i have an option to fix sf engine guard/faring at 3~4k.
