  • Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155

Today I have done my 2nd service in Avish Suzuki, Chennai, service quality was up to the expected level, got all my issues solved, hard shifting problem reduced, but don't know how long will it last, but okay for now.

Mainly I came to know about the new Gixxer 200 naked version, showroom guy told me about this when I was asking him about the rear disc brake variant bike, I repeatedly asked him whether it is GSX 250 or Gixxer 200, he told its Gixxer 200 naked version and which is going to be launched shortly.

Does any one have any idea about Gixxer 200, reply as soon as possible, as my friend is looking for a 200cc bike and who have set his mind to buy Pulsar 200RS, if this is true I will insist him to wait for Gixxy!!

The bearings in the steering rub if not properly aligned.my steering had problem and this aggravated as the SVC guys didn't heed to my complaints.the whole thing gave me trouble as steering would lock while turning and even the smallest potholes the bike would make huge thud sounds.once am past 80kmph the front of the bike will have lots of vibes and I lost feel of the bike.hence had to change the whole thing.what I would suggest is incase your bike steering is not moving freely please take out time and visit SVC and ask the guy to address the issue else will have to bear all this trouble.

Don't worry, this happened to me after three weeks...
You can replace it easily, it will cost around 150 rupees.

it monitors the position of the throttle to alter the timing of the spark to alter power delivery such as if the throttle is rapidly opened it will allow more fuel to quickly enter the engine so it doesn't stall.

FZ Has the same type of TPS, Pulsar has a non contact reed switch TPS and Apache has a cable operated TPS, its common in all the bikes for advancing or retarding the spark based on throttle position for optimal performance

TPS does not control the volume of fuel, In a CV Carburetor the throttle cable is connected to a butterfly valve which controls the amount of air entering in the carburetor venturi, once the throttle is openned air enters the venturi which creates a negative pressure on the top of main jet which brings the fuel to rise up from carburetor bowl to venturi, the mixed air and fuel is fed to the engine.

Ok thanks a lot. I didn't know about it. Always good to gain knowledge. However if it's faulty what are the symptoms

Fluctuating idle (Can also be caused in fuel air mixture is lean i.e more air than fuel)
                    Jerky acceleration
                    Drop in Mileage

these are the symptoms if TPS is faulty.

When I'm opening the throttle more its vanished, but keeping it constant is giving this jerking issue 😞
Okay, so Problem got solved, the issue was with spark plug gap, it was too little so it was misfiring at 3-4k rpms . The mechanic cleaned the spark plug and adjusted the gap. Now there's no jerking till 7000rpm. I have ridden it past 7k rpms but you know you can't keep an eye on the tachometer at 7k rpm, bike's pretty fast on that speed. Road safety first. I'll update later on. Hope this helps other 'JERKING GIXXER' owners 🙋 😝😀

Special thanks to PSR Sir. 🙌

Consumables are available at authorised SVCs. I got my handle bar replaced & it was available at SVC. It is better to stick to authorised SVCs for spares as the chances of counterfeits are lower.
