Nah, at least run 200 km more, then change it, no need to clean the chain, lubricate it with a spray grease, or chain spray lube , Rolon cost 120 Rs.

Haven't heard of engine oil additive, engine flush is different, but additive?? take a pic of that container or pouch next time, and post it here so that other users can also verify.

Motul is currently among the top brand of oils in India, why would it need additives??

                Hello gixxerians

Thanks to you all for solving issues and also gives tips .

                Here is my question

What is the time to change engine oil?

How do we figure it out ?

What engine oil is suggested mostly MOTUL but I need your suggestion based on your experience...

What grade should be use 10w40 or 15w40 or ?

What kind of engine oil needs to be used synthetic?
Does engine oil color matters ?

                Thanks in Advance

                Harsha

                      hello all,

Got my Gixxer dual-tone delivered on 16th of sept. I ride a Bullet from the last 13yrs, so coming from that bike, this bike feels pure bliss. No vibrations and super smooth engine and good pick up. I have retained the bullet and will restore it fully in the next three months and use it on weekends. Gixxer will be for weekdays and city driving.

                      What I like about Gixxer

                      1. Good build quality(not the plastics, but the metal frame and the shocks and everything else)
                      2. Super smooth engine
                      3. Good pick up
                      4. Great city drive-ability(can go from 30 on 5th gear and from 20 on 4th)
                      5. Good looks(but its sleek, not macho like yamaha FZ)
                      6. Dual tone colour looks smashing
                      7. Nice console with time, gear indicator, RPM indicator and Eco/Power indication
                      8. comes with kick, side stand, choke and main stand as standard

                      What I dont like

                      1. Its sleek looks
                      2. HORN
                      3. Rear looks - oddly designed mudguard
                      4. Its get really muddy and soiled if driven on wet surfaces after/during rain
                      5. Pillion seat - Its too small and painful for well built people

                      Issues

                      1. Head light throw (its up on trees, both low and high beam)
                      2. tuk-tuk noise while bike is moving

Have done 120kms till now and loving the experience

Today left my bike for first service. The SVC insisted on putting a oil additive along with the oil. I want to know is it okay and good or harmful for the engine. They are charging around 170rs for the additive. Please advice

No it is not needed at all, service center will sell you anything and screw your bike. Just normal oil change along with rest of the service will do.

                              No additives!!!!

                              Cheers,

Have a look, I think if you really want to add additives then go for 3M Brand, otherwise just buy a semisynthetic Motul , Peace of mind without risk of engine damage.
