Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I filled in 12.62 litres in to a empty tank on my gixxer(i filled up to the brim) . The pump was indian oil at outskirts of my city. I was not sure if they had rigged their pumping metres or may be the gixxer tank itself is a lil bigger than mentionedOriginally posted by chats View PostLast edited by htsrinivas546; 10-05-2015, 06:12 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Always fill fuel post hitting reserve. Reset the trip meter and calculate your previous mileage. Also note, there are some fuel residue about .2-.4 liter unusable. The reason is unless you use your credit card, filling fuel upto brim seems impatient (esp for change) at many gas station. And by the way, most of the bikes fuel gauge does not work proper unless you position the vehicle almost perpendicular. Avoid looking at the fuel gauge and rather learn to feel when the bike hits reserve.Originally posted by chats View PostSome weird stuff happened yesterday while I was filling fuel in my bike.
The gauge was showing 1 bar, and was flashing, so I assumed that the bike had about 2-4 lts left. I usually fill it when it's on the last bar. I normally go to a shell petrol pump, and they put in about 8-9 lts to give me a full tank.
I went to another pump, and they put in almost 11.9 lts! This is the second time I've had the pump guy fill in 11+ lts. I didn't visit the first pump again, as I thought I'd been cheated, but here I saw the guy pumping in the fuel.
Was he overfilling? Or was the gauge rigged? Or do these machines have some way to show me zero, but not actually reset?
The tanks capacity is 12 lts, and I hadn't hit reserve yet, so I'm sure I was conned, but I don't know how yet.

How do you come to know that the bike has hit Reserve??Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostAlways fill fuel post hitting reserve. Reset the trip meter and calculate your previous mileage. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
When you are about to hit reserve, the bike will start to show some jerks (Forward and backward movement), but not risky. You can slowly get to left and within few more meters, you can feel the jerk more and can feel the bike engine is running out of fuel and will struggle to speed up on opening throttle.Originally posted by Saurabh Umadikar View PostHow do you come to know that the bike has hit Reserve??

For the few times, it might make you afraid. But the bike won't stop all of a sudden. It will slowly slow down. Within few such experience you can practice well. ALso use the fuel indicator, lets say when it starts to blink, you can expect the bike to hit reserve maybe in about <10 KMs
