That triggered me for an oil change.

Actually changed the oil after reading a lot of reviews in the forum [emoji2] (Was waiting for the mods to activate my account so that I can post). Normally I don't stress the engine, not at all. Oil is the only thing right now deviated from stock config.

I will just wait for the oil to break in. Ll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your suggestion regarding gloves. Wil try it out. [emoji4]
      Oh OMS!

I go there too. So when did you go there? When I went there last time, there was a guy waiting behind me with a blue gixxer. Do you own a blue gixxer? did you visit the service station on 18th of January? The guy looked so concerned lol.

You know, the service mechanics there are genuine but you have to stress upon the issue so much and explain it patiently, I mean, repeat it until they have a clear face and then ask them to tell you what they've understood! You can't find a better service station in and around the place.

Please continue using stock oil for few thousand more km. The issue might get sorted. Now whatever else that comes up, the mechanics will attribute that to your new engine oil. Get gloves until it's sorted. Also, try to wear them whenever you ride.

You can contact suzuki's official website or customer care to confirm this and then let us know. Everything you read here might not be true.

Vibes on the right hand side alone, hmm. Okay I suspect few other things apart from this oil. If there are vibes on one side alone then it might be due to some other fault too. I would like to suggest you to check your throttle settings also. From next service onwards, go to a service station where they use stock oil. Many service stations in Chennai use motul oil that is recommended.

I would like to know how you completed your break in period. Because the engine settles to a particular type of riding during break in. And it will continue to prevail after that. And that is one more reason why people shouldn't ride another person's motorcycle and also not let others ride theirs.

I can't go to another service station.. Everything is too far. Engine breaking dint cross 4k or 4.5k rpm whatever said in manual..

Guys i have my last free servicing in a few days and bought a 7100 from market and thought will change at the servicing they are telling that it will violate warranty and we have to buy from them and they dont have anything apart from the stock oil
          It it true?
Changing to 7100 voids your warranty?

Did you know it was gradual?

Upto 800 km its till 4.5k rpm.

From there upto 1600 km its till 7k rpm.

After that you can set it to 9.5k rpm redline.

Don't ask me how this is going to affect your engine but the company has specified all this in the user manual for reasons.

yes. it will void the bike's warranty but not battery's.

Anything deviating from what's specified for the bike, unless and until the company itself approves of it, will void warranty.

Do not laugh now, in my previous experience with a different bike I was told to inflate my tyres with normal air and that inflating the tyres with nitrogen would void the warranty of the bike. Crazy enough, eh?

Oh really? Changing the engine oil voids warranty? I didn't know that.. They are recommending us to use motul with 10w40.. Here the grade is mandatory not the brand.. Correct me if am wrong.

Changing the brand of engine oil does not void the warranty. However, the best engine oil for the gixxer is motul 300v...a bit expensive but the bike give around 50 kmpl and pull almost like a 200 cc bike...

                            Hello,

                            3. It's good to know that you reside at Kovilambakkam. So let me start off by saying that OMS suzuki is better compared to all others in the area. I bought my bike elsewhere but I service it at OMS, not because their service is exceptional, but just that they have courteous personnel. That's like giving you a better purchasing experience and service experience than all other showrooms in and around the place.

Now let me come to the remaining list,

                            1. She is not my wife. I am not married. She is not my girlfriend either. She is a petite girl, well, having the built of an average Indian girl, my team mate at work. I spent pretty long hours on my bike with her as my pillion. The very first thing she told me was this, "wow, cool bike. I find your bike very comfortable. I love the ride!". She was an amazing pillion and gripped the bike so well with her legs - well that's a tip; it works well for the pillion when he/she grips the bike properly. And the rest is relative to you and your wife. Take her on a test ride. Do not go for Honda Hornet. Instead, go for RTR 200 4V which has relatively lower pillion seat and is now very refined and also more powerful. This is just my view.

                            2. It is possible to take the saddle height little higher. Only way is to visit a good lining shop and ask the shopkeeper to increase the front seat height with good quality cushion. But you know? It will spoil the whole riding experience. You will not experience the bike as it is. It will only hurt your back. This bike can be so much fun! And there is no way to make your wife feel that she is sitting lower. It was funny to see pillions on FZ and gixxer next to each other. On gixxer, it's like the pillion sits higher but also has his legs stretched downward on the footrest at a comfortable angle. On FZ, the seat height is lower and also the pillion's knees have tighter angle.

An extra suggestion. From my experience and friends circle, the dual tone gixxer has poor quality paint job on the side panels. They tend to fade away quicker. The matte grey color on the single tone ones stays longer. It's your wish and preference in the end. Just saying, though.
Thanks Srinath for taking your time to explain me clearly about all my doubts I will be getting at OMS only. If not dual tone, which single tone would stay long apart from grey? I dont like grey that much, and black is out of my list as already my honda shine is black.

Cool, btw the 7100 you were asking about? Is it of different grade?

i thought it was by shell and it was 10W30

It could be shell ax7 prolly.

feeling buzz at 95kmph is normal I guess. It will smoothen out as you ride more km buddy so dont worry.

Yes grade is important to have warranty intact. The stock grade is 10W40

Like I've mentioned before do it with the consent of service station mechanic. If motul is made unavailable, then the company would replace it with another brand. I insist sticking to the stock brand because even if something goes wrong, you can be on safer side to get the issues done with service station. As a business tactic, they might blame the new brand or oil grade for the fault, if arises.

I second that. Grade is important and it's mentioned in the manual to use the specified grade. Even when changing the oil brand I insist to get the consent of an amicable service station mechanic.

Best single tone colors I prefer are metallic triton blue and candy antares red as specified on the website of the company. Both look stunning to my eyes and do not have any paint fading issues.
