Does that solve the problem completely? or does the problem persist?
Bro Hornet has its own share of problems like worst switch gears etc...
If you start to love the bike you will start to live with it even with bottom scraping...
    Does gixxer scrap the bottom..?
Yes it do and i get scrapped with a pillion but i had learnt to overcome it while climbing over a speed braker to avoid scarpping...
Gixxer Best bike in the segment bro...

      Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your inputs I went for gixxer test drive with my wife, and she was fairly comfortable with the bike. As you guys suggested I would be getting it in OMS suzuki and the color is Metallic triton blue I am planning to buy via snapdeal so that I can save 2000-2500 bucks(Free insurance+5 yrs warranty) which I will be using to buy Studds SF edition helmet(2200 Rs). Please pour in your suggestions regarding snapdeal buy and SF edition studds helmet.

      Thanks in advance,

        Congrats in advance.

If the offers are good online and you have to pick up the bike at a nearby showroom then go ahead. Let us know your experience once you purchase.

Please do not buy studds helmet from there. It's off-road type helmet. I use one and it's horrible even at 50kmph speed. Take your budget to rs. 3000 or higher and get a normal full face helmet made by some good brand. You can refer to riding gears thread for more help on that. Off road helmet is prone to side winds and wind blast feels horrible whenever you lift your head up, at higher speeds. It does the job but you can get better for the money you pay.

          Hi all,

I got my first servicing of my Gixxer done today . it was 550 Km on Odometer. After the service I feel like the vibrations have started. I asked the service people about it and they are saying that its normal and all will be set after some ride in the bike and the bike was in good condition . But the bike was butter smooth before the service and I have no idea why the vibes are creeping in now . I also asked about the Oil they used and Idemitsu was the answer.

Need an input weather it is normal or should i need another visit

          Thanks

            Hello,

I suggest you to ride 100 more km with a full tank or at least more than half tank of fuel. Later if the problem persists, get back to service station.

But hey, the change in brand might need some time for both the bike and you for getting used to. Don't worry until then. I have heard shell oil of the same grade gives a smoother performance after changing. Prolly, that is all the quality of Idemitsu.

Btw, enjoy the ride. Get your mind off the vibes till there's a concrete change for the good [:

            Cheers mate.

Thanks srinath ... I rode my bike today and I guess it has become smooth again as it was before :P hope it stays that way :P
But it was a small ride and was not able to check properly ...

When something like that happens I know my bike needs a top up of fuel. I do it and revv it evenly till rev limiter in all gears on open roads. It becomes buttery smooth with full tank of fuel...especially BP and shell [:

                  Hi all,
Just completed a 2200km Mumbai - Gujarat trip spanning over five & a half days. My observations during the trip as below:
                  1. Maintained cruising speed of 70-80 kmph. Gixxer returned a mileage of 55-57 kmpl with ordinary petrol.
                  2. Oil used was Motul 7100 4T 10W40. The engine does not heat up too much at those speeds. Took a break every 100-120 km. I did more than 3500 km with this oil & the oil level reduced only to a very small extent as seen from the oil inspection window.
                  3. The odometer of the gixxer is pretty accurate. As per Google Maps (point to point), Vadodara - Mumbai distance is 416km. The trip meter showed 417 km which is very accurate.
                  4. There were minimal vibes at those speeds which were felt at the foot pegs.
                  5. I used 3M chain lube every 800 km which made the bike smoother after every spray.
                  6. Overall the bike performed as per my expectations.

Could also be due to lose fork nuts. I had the same thud sound issue with my NS. First reaction of the service guys - cone set. Second check - fork nuts, which turned out to be lose.

The handle will not wobble due to lose fork nuts since the fork nuts limit vertical movement.

Reading this thread makes me realise how good a bike Gixxer is...

Also, 7100 should not reduce since it will not vaporize as its fully synthetic. I did a blasting run from Pune to Bangalore averaging 85 kmph over 940 kms so you can imagine the speeds and still had the same level of oil as i had before riding.

Moreover during my entire recent roadtrip of 5300 kms i did not have to fill or even top up the oil. 7100 holds up that good.

You might want to get that checked unless you are leaking oil which is known issue with 7100 though wasnt the case wimme.

300v is not good for anything but out and out racing bro. Its a pure racing breed oil. Plus it does not enhance engine life. I would suggest 7100 post checking the rating of the oil.

There is apparently no difference in the oil levels when I checked again. You are right. Being fully synthetic, it does not vapourise. May be the difference was seen as the bike must have been parked at an inclination.
