From an assertive 'it's the bike cover' in the previous post to 'may be because of bike cover' now eh?

Haha check with other darker colors. I feel it could be the case for fewer pieces.

I can show you exceptions like this. The front suspension in my bike is matte black and it's the case for only a few others; perhaps they are of the same batch. Very hard to spot on road. Prolly one of you guys could have one too. Most gixxers have shiny-black front suspension. The shinier ones face paint peel-off easily even though they run on smooth roads without dirt. This is weird too in my view point haha.
1st stop pinpointing others, I don't know why you check grammar in a technical forum, this is really irritating I was just sharing my experience and ideas and its my wish to use any kind of sentence 'assertive' etc..."it's the bike cover" thats just a statement, did I use any words like "i'm confirm its the bike cover , i'm sure its the bike cover"? I faced same issue exactly at same place, in my case I found the reason to be cover and out of curiosity I put that statement.

I don't mean to say that if we use bike cover the paint will peel off, I say the paint peeling at that point maybe because of bike cover.

And my front suspension is also matte black.

Oh yeah just 3 days back I changed engine oil and oil filter, that too same Mobil ...feeling the difference...yes its really awesome...its a semi-synthetic oil...engine heating reduced, pick up is excellent, but gear didn't get smooth as it is only 3 days after changing oil...will post my experience with it after few 1kms.

You have to be specific if its mineral or synthetic or if its given from the svc and how much it costs?
Or is it 5100 or 7100?
          It's 7100 Deb

There is mileage drop from 45 to 40 and throttle is not free it's struggling to reach 75 kmph

Is it because of oil change or any other factors?

            RPM Set at 7500

Please suggest me what to be done?

            Thank you

              Guys,

Hi had been facing major issues for last one month, zero throttle response at certain RPM, drastic mileage drop, my mileage was only '25 kmpl', etc... Reason for all these issues is the change in timing of my bike(misfiring)...took my bike to SVC nothing changed, took it to local mechanic no difference.

And then finally we did tappet adjustment by ourselves in our house(me and my uncle), removed the side casings, fuel tank completely, opened the engine head and started the work.

              "Inlet valve clearance: 0.07
              Outlet valve clearance: 0.09"

We just tried this settings as trial and error method, but this is really working very great, there is a lot of improvement in pick up, acceleration, throttle response at mid range is awesome, no words to express the performance of bike after tuning.

I am testing mileage which may take a bit time, I will check twice or thrice to know the average mileage, will surely update after checkinng.

Nice job mate.[emoji122] Is there any improvement in your mileage, since that was one of the problems initially. Do let us know if it has improved after testing.

I think with change to synthetic oil, the heat has come down a bit...

Would beg to differ on that mate. Mineral will not last more than about 2000 - 2500 kms post which it loses viscosity and is really harmful for the engine for obvious reasons. Synths last from around 4000 - 4500 kms. But they can last longer than that because the last time I got an oil change for my NS after 4600 kms running, the discarded oil still had a lot of viscosity and was taken by my local mechanic. He then used the oil for his own bike. He told me, when asked, that the oil still has a lot of viscosity for regular commuter bikes but something like an NS which has a heavy engine (I am guessing he meant powerful) would take out a max of 100 - 200 kms off it.

Thanks for the info buddy.. I earlier had Hero Honda Karizma where the service center used to fill mineral oil and oil change was 4,000 Kms interval.. So I thought mineral oil last that long in general...

Guess synthetic is the way to go...

Gixxer service interval is 4,000 kms.. Service center had been filling mineral oil only until 7th service... Would it have hurt the engine [emoji17]

Cannot comment for sure if at all damage has been done or not bro, although I hope not, but I rarely pay attention to what the service guide states. On deeper thought, I do not think damage would have been done since there are top ups done in every alternating service.

I think in the NS also it states 4000 - 4500 km or so with top ups in between however that's for the mineral oil and I do the 4.5 K km change with Motul 7100.

                        I follow simple rules -

                        1. Synth oil of matching rating change 4000 - 4500 kms. I use Motul 7100 20W50.
                        2. Oil filter change everytime theres an oil change
                        3. Chain slackness adjustment and cleaning / lubing every 400 kms
                        4. greasing of cables every fortnight ...

I am all set to rock and roll !!

In a nutshell : fairing on naked gixxer is as good as 'ueue' in Queue.

But some people prefer to look at the word complete and also think the 'ueue' is very functional.

It comes down to your preference in the end.

                              Hi folks,

Trust everyone is riding safe and enjoying winters. Just stopped by for queries and to share experience:

                              1. Recent visitor to SVC, any idea when Skid Plates accessory would be available? I will install them, call to Dwarka Suzuki, Delhi -- yielded no definite answers.

                              2. Had to change spark plug before 8K kms, the noob SVC mechanic had adjusted the A/F mixture to rich. Did CO test and tuned the engine again. Alright now.

                              3. 4th Service oil change was by Idemitsu oil. I can clearly hear 'tak tak tak' sound during cold start which fades of after 0.8 to 1 kms ride. I live in Gurgaon, so just keen if it due to cold start, oil pressure not being built-up or something else which I have to address in service center.

                              4. My disc plates would be changed during 5th service - rusting issue. Just curious, labour chargers has to borne by the owner?

During my discussion with Services center folks, they refused to use any other engine oil other the available in SVC. Didn't protest, wrote mail to Suzuki, awaiting response. Yet to speak to manager, will push him for this.

Had a minor mishap - a black four-legged man's best friend jumped in middle of no where on a foggy evening, sudden breaking, construction site's sand ---> Torn jeans, minor buries on keens, muscle pain in left shoulder. Was wearing jacket, gloves and helmet - no major damages. Still hounding for the F**kwit, the day I catch him, ice bucket water test for sure.

Few places I'm planning for trip after winter recedes and I save enough funds:

                              - Kasol
                              - Chakrata
                              - Shimla (maybe but it is Mini-Chandigarh now)
                              - Manali

                              Cheers folks! Ride safe.

Please let us know when you are done with 'thinking'. We will respond you with an answer of 'No'. I'm just kidding, welcome to the xBHP. Nice to see a member from Indore. My brother resides in Indore and tells tall tails of the place. One story can still recall - my brother was planning to by a Honda CBR 250R, upon his query on bike's colour availability, new marketing chap responded - 'Woh to company wale jo colour bhejte hain wahi aata hai, sir!, so woh hum guarantee nahi lenge'. My borther owns a Maruti Swift now, thanks to the chap.
