I meant the feeler guage (stanley from amazon.in).
A linemans plier (commonly known as cutting plier) can do the task of the tappet adjustment tool.
I believe all bikes have the same technology to adjust tappets. Can find out only after opening Gixxer engine head. I have already adjusted tappets on my Uni with the tools I have.
I have most other spanners, screw drivers & allen keys to do other tasks.
The below page has the pictures of the required tools.
Time is a big constraint and we have planned to adjust tappet on Pongal holidays on both my Unicorn & his Gixxer.2005 - Hercules MTB Thriller | 2018 - Apollo Evade
2010 - Unicorn- 61K
2011 - GS - 49K
2016 - Gusto - 15K
2017 - Tiago XZ 1.2P - 11K

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Guys,
I want to do some modification to my Gixxer 155 like :- Changing factory horn to some loud one.
- Changing factory head light to some high lumen led one.
Can you please suggest good places(mechanics/garages) in Mumbai to do such modifications?
Thanks all !----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hey Guys,
Quick Question - Does "Philips 12342XVPB1 H4 12V 60/55W X-treme Vision Plus" will fit directly in gixxer ie. plug n play ?
Philips 12342XVPB1 H4 12V 60/55W X-treme Vision Plus Car Headlight Bulb: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike
I feel OEM bulb is not sufficient.
Thanks

I would also like to know if you or anyone else is using the same bulb and there is an improvement over OEM after using this. Do I need to change the Number plate and parking bulbs to LED to compensate the higher wattage of extreme vision.?Last edited by vinay_k; 01-11-2016, 05:31 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
First of all buddy i personally felt mine lighting problems get resolved with aligned of the headlamp dome...you can adjust the throw by loosing the screw below the headlamps and then adjusting the dome...now two mods are gixxer famous one of them is headlamp other being the hornOriginally posted by vinay_k View PostThanks buddy,

I am the horn guy but i Haven't changed lamp
And i personally seen two persons who have changed the headlamps onr with a 35 watt orsam and other with a 55 watt Phillips
Now i didn't find much improvement over mine readjusted high beam with the 35 watts high beam
But if i compare with the 55 watt then its noticeable and he is using it over 7-8 months now on a gixxer so far i haven't got any problems from him
And he didn't compensated the lights for the loads all are there in their places without turning to LEDs
For me i have added a fairing light in my SF which consists of two LEDs and yet to face any problems so i don't think you will too
Hoped it helped
Please let the community know what you finally did

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I have Philips xtremevision, not xtremevision plus. But everything else is same, its a 55w bulb and I have it for almost a month now. Before that I had Phillips Bluvision also 55w. It's is good and no need to of changing anything else to LED.Originally posted by vinay_k View PostThanks buddy,

Though I turn on the lights only after I start the bike. I have also changed the headlamp to point a little bit low so now all is well.
You can change to Philips xtremevision plus 55w without any issue.
