Before long trips, check for any unusual sounds from the bike when running in city conditions, check tyre pressure and also physically inspect both they tyres to see if it has any lumps or damage to it. Check engine oil level, front disc brake oil level and top up/refill if necessary. If you will be riding at night, check if the lights and indicators are working fine. Clean and lube the drive chain. This is very important.
This bike is an absolute delight on the highways once the engine warms up to highway temperatures! You can easily cruise between 80 to 90 kmph without straining the bike and expect good mileage figures too. Yesterday I rode 365 kms straight with a tankful and I expect it to run another 100 kms atleast before the fuel level hits reserve.
As for riding tips, first and foremost is believe in yourself that you can do it. Riding on highways is no rocket science but you have to be extra careful because it isn't the same as riding within city limits. Speeds are high, wind factor, bending roads, high speed vehicles overtaking you etc plus the possibility of village people and their cattles crossing the road without any warning will catch you off guard. Always be in control of your vehicle. Don't try to keep up with your friend (he seems more experienced) just because he is faster. Since this is your first long ride, being comfortable with the speed at which you think you have control over the vehicle is more important. Try to stick to the left most lane if it is a six lane highway.raintree has specified what's necessary. Take enough snack, water and toolkit. Carry your user manual because if there is no signal on some highway, you cant get access to xbhp :P :P have a good chemistry with your fellow rider :P take enough breaks and most importantly check for this :Originally posted by imranaryan View PostThanks bro.. For such a good advice

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Sorry that you couldn't find what you wanted. I am also helpless as I don't have access to any scanning medium right now. Moreover, asking an owner to scan the whole manual is a bit taxing :P who would spend that much time when the bike is so good and you keep riding it :POriginally posted by sivaprasaad View PostI did, but couldn't find anything. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Anyone feels low when they spend a day away from their suzuki? :3 :/ Like it's right in front of your eyes wrapped up in rain cover but there is some work preventing you from going to it and kick it on! :/ And after completing the work you are so exhausted to remove the cover to ride your bike. Darkness spreads over and people around you stop you from going out and have some fun in the night.
All I hear is that don't go gently deep into that night for there's tomorrow.
GRRRRR.....!Last edited by srinath2494; 07-02-2015, 11:02 PM.
