Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Instead of buying a new lever you can peel off the paint from ur gixxer's existing lever or you can use sandpaper to remove the black paint. Bcoz I did in my previous bike. This is just a suggestion.Originally posted by probike View PostJust follow my shadow.

Few months back i even tried by removing the front sprocket cover & rotated the wheel by hand to find the exact location of the noise. If any one of the sprockets is misaligned & chains not perfectly seating into the sprocket teeth's this will create the noise. Lubing will solve the issue temporarily but definitely chain alignment should be done.
Dynamo, are you saying that all gixxer hiving this sound(tak-tak) have some issue with chain alignment and not due to sensor ?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I am planning to do a 900 kms round trip in the next couple of days and just before I start, I am planning to clean and lube the chain.
Will this hold up for a good 800 to 900 kms of running or should I carry the clean and lube can with me during this trip?Owns a baby Gixxer starting Jan '15

Depends on the route and weather. Monsoon, so yes. Roads? You gotta say what kind of roads you're going to ride on

Has anyone tried to use some other brake and clutch lever in gixxer. I have grey gixxer I want to replace stock one from TVS apache's silver one attaching pic for the same. Any suggestions....
I come from an RTR and I believe it wouldn't suit gixxer. The lever is heavy compared to gixxer's and it is usually hard. Also the size is longer than gixxer's which would be a problem when cutting through traffic or parking in tight places as gixxer's single piece handle is wider than RTR's. You would definitely feel an undesirable clutch play once you install it. I also doubt if it would be a proper fit and start making noises due to the same.
Please don't go for poor quality after market clutch and brake levers. Any clutch play is good when corrected at the bottom end of the cable. And that's the proper way. Don't fall prey to these.
If you desperately want a change, get the stock levers painted at a good paint shop for vehicles. It would make some change that you want :P

Thambi mostly :P what's your age? :P Anyway, if that's the case make your trips on those days when the sky's clear. No need for lubing then. If you wish to have fun in rain, then carry one. I find too many riders concerned about lubing chain now and then for no reason. I feel the manual can be followed for the same.
Inside Chennai, errmmm...the weather is so unsure :P you can get a lube once you reach the place and after checking the condition of the chain.
If I were you, I would do this. If the bike is in good condition, I would ride it to Chennai and check if the chain needs lubing. Once the work is done here, before starting back to Bangalore, I would again Check and go about to ride if the chain is fine. And again, after reaching Bangalore, I would check it. You see, if not 700 or 800 km at one go, the lube can withstand 300-400km at once! I hope service centres can help in lubing. We don't have to carry a bottle all the way. Both Chennai and Bangalore have good service networks.Last edited by srinath2494; 06-29-2015, 08:00 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Now u can rev your bike till 9500RPM ...Anyhow Mileage depends on your riding style! .. As i rev my bike and usually shift between 6000-7000RPM i get a mileage between 40-45km/l in City...45-50 in Highways...It's better to switch to Semi Synthetic after 5000kms!Originally posted by chamara View PostHi Guys
I completed my gixxer bike 2nd service after 3400km . I hope now no rpm limitation now , Am I right ?
Or are they any RPM limitation(setting) even though after 2nd service
Any suggestion should I remove it ?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This could be off topic but I couldn't resist but share the excitement
Today I got to see a GSXR-1000 in person and wow it was out of the world :O :O It looks massive and heavy in reality! I heard from the person who ordered it that it produces roughly 158 HP of power to the rear wheel*. WOW :O it had really fat 190 size rear tyre which is bigger than most of the car tyres! This is the first time I came face to face with a superbike and it was extremely fascinating! I think having some relatives working in customs would probably help in seeing more and more superbikes :P :P I felt it could weighed lesser though.
*maybe less or more? I am just going by the owner's views.Last edited by srinath2494; 06-29-2015, 11:19 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi
Anyone feeling pain in palm after prolonged rides? I feel pain in my right hand after about 10km ride.. If its about getting used to the handlebars and seating position I should experience pain in both the hands (or) is it simply because of twisting accelerator I am feeling more pain in right hand? Also I feel the Handlebar is straight.. Any suggestions?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yes, right hand has to do some more work of twisting the throttle. I don't think this is an issue to discuss at all. Every time a rider needs to adapt to newer bikes both physically and mentally.Originally posted by blitzz577 View PostHi
