Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I had sprayed WD40 on the disk brakes to prevent rusting...Later i just took my bike for a ride..I came to know that i had lost the disk breaking..the bike woundn't stop!...Came back to my home...Sprayed the force of water on the disk brakes...and later did some hard breaking for few times!....The brakes were back to normal! Note: Do not spray WD40 or apply wax on the disk brakes it will make the surface of the disk brakes oily and slippery which will reduce the braking.Originally posted by harshadhulipala5 View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello Friends, Today I got call from Suzuki showroomAutozone Okhla New Delhi. And they are providing free service camp for Gixxer .
Camp will be open for 2 days. They will do washing , chain cleaning and lube and repair defects (if any) for free.
It's very good move from Suzuki India to provide such a value added services. Kodus to Suzuki India hope they will bring more motor bikes in India in coming days.
It's been around 1.5months for my Gixxer (grey) odo reading is 1200kms. 1st service done. I have no issues with my bike (touchwood) .
Engine is super smooth I was driving Pulsar 150 before. Breaks also fine. Console looks cool.
I just face one issue some times with pillion on bike, it touch some big speed breakers. I don't know why someone make such big breakers. I thought bike is just perfect for our roads. But issue with the people who make such inappropriate speed breakers.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I had a pretty bad experience with Gixxer yesterday night coming back from office. Bike stopped in the middle of nothing acting like it is running out of fuel. I changed fuel knobe to reserve (I was expecting hitting reserve any time) and still engine didn't understood that and acted like crawling for fuel. I parked bike aside and looked around and found that fuel is leaking through the overflow pipe located right near the break pedal. Heart stopped working for few seconds. I have no idea what to do. I just couldn't accept that my 24 days old bike (ODO 950km) which came out of first service two days ago stopped in night on highway with this totally awkward issue that fuel leakage. I was so desprate and have no idea whom to call for help. First I called the sales executive of Suzuki (that's the only contact I had with my showroom) and she said that this issue is totally new and she have no idea what is this. She gave me SVC number but she already said that they won't be there since the office hours are passed. One of my friend over suggested me that it is happening due to overflow so just turn off the fuel and start the engine and drive. Then it will drain all the fuel from carb and then turn fuel back on will fix the issue. I tried that but no luck. When ever I turn fuel back on it started bleeding. Desprate hours. I tried to open the side panel so that I can atleast look what is the problem and where the fuel is coming from. But again bad luck. One of the screw right below the seat is tighten so hard and I couldn't open it in the rain. Mean while one of my friend gave me a contact number of a local mechanic. Below is the conversation with him.
Me : Hi, My name is jithesh I got a gixxer few days old. Right now when I turn on my fuel....
He couldn't let me complete the sentance and he started talking "fuel is coming through the over flow pipes right ?".
I was very happy. Because I just found a expert who understands the exact issue without even completling the sentance. I said yes. He told me that stay there he will come to my location and will help me.
I waited for an hour and he showed up. A man like me may be two or three years old than me with a Duke in heavy rain stopped his ride infront of my gixxer and asked me "Are you Jithesh ?"
Now he inspected the bike and he said that it is happening due to over flow valve block. It happens either because low quality petrol or too much water flooding to tank. He pulled out the overflow pipe from right side to left side just show me where it is fixed or not. He told me exactly how to deal with this problem in future. He simply started the engine in fuel off mode and drained all the fuel in the carb then gently tapped on the bottom of carb with the spanner. Gently means very gently. He looked to me like he know exactly what is happening while he is tapping on it and I was like a LKG student or an alien who have no idea how this is gonna fix the issue. But surprisingly it is got fixed. Fuel turned on and no more over flow. He said that with that tap valve got unblocked and back to functioning again. He left the over flow pipe in the left side and told me to keep it like that for a day to confirm that it is not happening any more. He really saved my ass. Literally.
And about the mechanic guy, his name is Musthafa. He is a gentle man and genious. He is a tourer too. He didn't took a single rupee from me since he is not actually done anything and even after that he offered me cup of tea. Good people exists
Is this really happened due to water/poor fuel quality ? or is this a SVC mistake (because they cleaned filters in first service) ? What you guys think ? Please don't ignore. Share your views. Cheers.Owns : Baby Gixxer

Nice that you found a good mechanic. My troubles started after I did some riding in the rain. It must be the water in the tank.Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostI had a pretty bad experience with Gixxer yesterday night coming back from office. Hey, thanks for sharing this information. Now you have to tell us at which petrol bunk you fill your petrol and how the bunk usually is. It could be due to water logging or service centre mechanics usually over doing things and giving us a totally new problem on resolving one. I suspect it could be either water or improper handling by service mechanics and not the petrol. If it had been the petrol, then you would have had this problem earlier before your 1st service.
Anyway, prepare yourself better for your long trips in the future!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Wow. Fantastic....Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostCongrats! SMK seems to be a better dealer compared to other suzuki dealers in Chennai.
Check for the following:
1. Scratches on the bike. In and out.
2. ODO meter reading less than 10km.
3. Engine oil, brake oil levels.
4. If you have opted for teflon coating, then double check if its done.
5. Check the brakes, accelerator play and clutch play.
6. Most importantly check if all the documents are perfect. At the time of purchase, this includes insurance papers(all the pages and forms), vehicle invoice, statement of account including all accessories break up and details, delivery note, extended warranty booklet if you have applied for, user manual, a duplicate key and all free service coupons sealed by the dealer.
7. Check for proper working of the instrument console, switchgears. Focus on the gear shift indicator before you take the delivery.
8. Check if the engine is free revving, slowly and gradually.
9. Fill petrol asap after taking the delivery.
10. Some showrooms don't do the stickering on number plates. So check if its done or get it done immediately outside. You don't want to be stopped by cops on the very first day.
11. Check if all the lights, indicators and electricals are fine.
12. Cross check the engine and chassis number once again although they do it. Check if the bike is a new one. Anyway after registration you can't change it and mostly they would give you one from the lot manufactured after May.
13. Check if all the accessories you have opted for are fitted and proper break up of cost is provided for the same.
The bike's suspension is perfect for everyday use and the view is relative. Maybe the rider you spoke with used a bike with softer suspensions. It seems to be adequate and can even ride on bad roads. I find this one plush compared to my older ride. Yes, you need to slow down considerably to avoid scraping the belly of the bike on speed breakers if you are with a pillion. But that's inherently a problem with the bike and only the company can provide a solution. You can set the suspension depending on your preference later on, if you find the factory settings tight. And only the rear suspension can be changed.

Best way to remove the residue of WD40 or oil spill- is to wash the disk & pad with mild shampoo or pril. You'll feel the difference. Don't go for the ride immediately. Once dry go for a rideOriginally posted by rockin.pavanr View PostI had sprayed WD40 on the disk brakes to prevent rusting...Later i just took my bike for a ride..I came to know that i had lost the disk breaking..the bike woundn't stop!...Came back to my home...Sprayed the force of water on the disk brakes...and later did some hard breaking for few times!....The brakes were back to normal! P.S- I stay in Thoraipakkam,OMRNo. Take the toll road(200 ft road from OMR to pallavaram). Take right at kamatchi hospital towards velachery. This road is called velachery main road. Before taking the bridge, turn left to bazar road, madipakkam. Then you will find OMS suzuki recently opened there for suzuki bikes. Its the closest. They handle suzuki cars too.Originally posted by Dynamo View PostCongrats. Instead of better, look for nearby dealer. I think ABT which is in Nandanam.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
My gixxer's rear view mirror cracked today
.
Mirror hit my arm when I held my bike which was about to fall while parking. Impact wasnt that much (didnt have any pain in my arm) but mirror cracked..
Thumbs up to the quality (and usability) of mirrors. Read a couple of RVM cracking cases in this forum.
ADVICE: Please take extra care of the mirrors.
QUESTION: Anyone changed the RVM in gixxer to a useful and better quality ones?Last edited by blitzz577; 06-26-2015, 11:44 PM.

I did from Indian oil. Usually I do from HP which is directly run by company. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This is an update to my previous post about having too many punctures in the rear tyre within a week of purchase.
Post pursuing the issue with Suzuki they have finally got the rear tyre replaced with a new one from MRF.
And for the guy who suggested to change my route instead, I got the tyre changed with a new one at absolutely no cost. [emoji4]
Glad to have received good support from Suzuki, MRF and the dealer Kiran Suzuki (Thane - Mumbai ).
