    Hi sumanth

    Seems heavy rain in khammam.
WD 40 is a degreaser but not applicable for chains.
Best way is to clean with mixture of kerosene + old engine oil ( 70:30 ratio ) Use old toothbrush & waste cloth to remove the dirt. After cleaning do pressure wash on the chain ( not mandatory )
Wait for sometime then apply the lube.
    Just follow my shadow.

I have sent emails to the area manager and the company. But no proper response. They suggested fixing lower piece of the SF's engine faring. But it would cost 3~4 k. And you will have to remove the leg/engine guard. No reply to my last email yet.

            What was it?
It would help others to understand the issue better, no?

First it was monsoon and my bike is new, second the manual book holder was blocking the air flow bro.
Now engine is Rev happy though, and about the cooling issue is about the bike's fast cooling

Attittude of some people is very irritating. When they need help, they would write everything in detail. Once the problem got solved we have to beg to find out how the hell it got fixed...

Keep this to your personal inboxes. Let there only be bikes here. Now don't quote me back saying I'm supporting others and not a few. A clean thread would be better.

Bro. If you still feel the chain is greasy. Better u try raw kerosene with toothbrush to remove the dirt.

My bike doesn't accelerates quickly, the problem is evident after cold start or slowing down and then accelerating at signals and speed breakers. Does fine when the road gets open.. This mostly happens after the 'E' mark starts blinking. If low fuel is the case then it's a very sad encounter as because the mileage this time would be just 29 km per litre. I tried changing re-fuelling stations, checked tire pressure, chain slackness, changed engine oil twice before 2K mark even have set the RPM indicator to 5K limit even though the bike have crossed the 1.6K mark, but nothing helped. The average mileage still hovers around 30-32 kms.

The bike is due for service next week. What could be the issue?

Don't worry. If u drive rash & rev hard pls don't do. Do check mileage after a normal drive. For ur satisfaction get the petrol in pet bottle & fill it in exact reserve. If the same mileage continues then these are the work you need to do to improve the mileage.

                          1. Clean sparkplug
                          2. Clean air filter
                          3. Fill petrol in shell
                          4. Correct air pressure in tyres
                          5. Check for any smoke from exhaust ( mild & hard rev )
                          6. Check Co2 levels
                          7. Change the AFR screw to factory setting.
                          8. Avoid unnecessary sudden braking.
                          9. Don't use the clutch in traffic signals. Better switch off the engine.
                          10. No sudden acceleration.
                          Ride safe...

Appreciate your reply. I normally drive in a sedate manner and these are the figures I got after normal rides. On the contrary the last time when I took it for a spin, a 400 km round trip on a highway it returned 42+ km/litre (tank full method) even after maintaining an average speed of 70-80 km/hr. The mileage problem I encountered happens when I ride less say 2-3 km/day. Anyway I will have them checked in the next service.

                                Hello Sir,

If the points dynamo mentioned haven't worked out then it could be due to following reasons.

The way we complete run in is important. Since you are setting the rev limiter to 5k rpm even after 1.6k km, I guess you would have continually run your bike in a very sedate way during run in. It is necessary to rev the engine higher during run in, AT TIMES AND NOT FREQUENTLY. ALSO, It should be momentary and should not be maintained for minutes together. Sometimes the bike sets in to a style of riding that we usually do in the run in, which I presume was sedate in your case. So the way you completed the run in matters. Moreover if you had tried testing its top speed during run in, it would have resulted in a different problem to the engine and you would still get a lower mileage and poor acceleration. I think you should start revving your bike gradually with more km. Under revved and over revved engine during run in will always be a problem later. Also let the engine warm up before you actually go to the main roads. I have tried this and it works. A warmed up gixxer is so pleasing to ride. I have felt the difference in acceleration and mileage from a warmed up engine. Its really reasonable as per what the company claims and as compared to what many other bikes return in reality.

If the bike is relatively new, then don't worry about the mileage. I have only been seeing the new gixxer owners talk about less mileage before 1st service or even 2nd. And from my experience, new bikes usually gulp more fuel. But not all new bikes. I have had a close friend who owns a gixxer and it has returned him 54kmpl before first service itself. There are exceptions and also various other factors also matter. These factors may not be applicable to everyone and every gixxer.

You have mentioned the mileage problem only when you ride 2-3km per day. I think you should up this number gradually and don't maintain constant revvs on highway riding for prolonged time!

Finish off your service and then let us know how the bike performs!

                                Thanks
