Bike got punctured at 5 places... rear tire
Here they charge 100 bucks per puncture just to seal it with a silly plug, taking just few minutes.

Thanks for explaining it again. Its the same as I figured out from my mid school science :P I was actually thinking that there was some vent or breather pipe(if the term is right) to do this. And hence came up with the ingenious plastic paper idea :P Really, I thought the slots in the tank cap are for locking the cap in place. I figured a small slot, which if at all when covered by a plastic paper would get blocked. Is it that vent?
I've experienced what Divya said with my Splendor. I used a plastic between the primary and secondary(rectangular) fuel caps to prevent vibration of the cap and kept riding. The bike simply choked and stopped after some time. But I think there is no tank water drain tube for Splendor.

Stupidity is when there is no ignorance and your opinion about an issue is totally worthless. Until now, I can say for sure, many were ignorant of the fact that the tank needs continuous air flow to keep the pressure.

No. There is no dedicated hole as such. The flap on tank lid is enough for air to let through the key slot and avoid *most* of water. Putting a plastic would cut out air flowing in through the cap hole. The air would remain trapped between the plastic and tank cap. Hope this clarifies.

P.S : fill your tank to the brim and ride in chock a block traffic and bend down to the tank hole. You'd smell petrol fumes even with the tank lid closed.

Get yourself a toolkit. Costs 150 for 5 plugs. Also 5 punctures may render the tire useless if highway usage is often.

Well, some motorcycles do have dedicated ventilation passage continuing from tank-air-vent-pipe integrated into to tank lid.

So, there is a tank-air-vent-pipe, that's settled. Let's find out if tank lid has any dedicated air-passage(port/hole) for ventilation.

Can someone post some pics of Gixxer's tank lid and tank opening?

Riders should note, here brim means the bottom of the tank's opening neck. Refer to the owner's manual for more info.

As I pointed out earlier that gixxer's tank is having an air vent hole next to tank mouth. I'll share the pic tomorrow.

That's one end of air-vent, the other end is the rubber pipe visible outside tank.

Does tank lid have any hole/port opening at two ends?

There is a tiny gap between the lid & the tank. Air flow through the tiny gap & from there the breather pipe do its work. Let's finish this with a neat diagram tomorrow.

                            Hi friends,
I have a problem with my Gixxer . I think it has fueling problems in it, apart from normal morning starts now in monsoon times it kind of doesn't pull when I give revs beyond 3-5k suddenly unless I activate choke. This happens almost every time I park the bike and restart it after a hour or two now in monsoon. After I ride for 1-2 km its all fine.
Is it common or something is wrong. Reply soon

                            Thanks

                              #1 - seats on the air-vent-hose/pipe
#2 - opens insides the tank itself.
