Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Make sure the engine doesn't get too hot during the ride. Preferably give breaks at around 30-45 mins intervals and don't maintain a steady speed/rpm. Also, stay under 5-6k rpm as much as possible. Don't worry too much and enjoy the ride bro.Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostUp and down around 250km

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks for bringing up this issue. I had a good 30km ride this morning on my gixxer on open roads (outer ring road and inside city)Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostAttention guys. Since Manson is here keep in mind that the fuel cap is silently allowing water to get inside. So make sure to keep it clean if you are parking your ride in open rain.

I noticed a few noteworthy things.
1. yesterday while filling up fuel, I noticed that the fuel cap is hard to fit in and also noticed the space around it which lets water inside as in the above pic. Do carry a rain over or when you close the fuel filler cap, use a plastic cover between the cap and the tank and then press hard until it fits in. This is something easy and its also so air tight. Just like how pickle bottles are packed before transportation :P :P :P But make sure it doesn't permanently hamper the cap and the slots where it fits in.
2. I don't want to get off this bike. Its so smooth and cruising at 50-60kmph (since m in run in period) is so breezy. The bike grabs a lot of attention. Some came by my side to ask the price and how it is to ride. I think the bike hasn't become common yet. Is it a rivalry or something? All the fz riders who saw me riding, overtook me, honked and looked back. Well, got nothing to do with that, but I feel the ego can be really less. :P
3. The exhaust sound is so bassy at such speeds that I never want to come down. Mind you, one should also respect the traffic.
4. The bike's rear mudguard feels like an extension and when in traffic, I felt like really conscious about it. Maybe its a matter of time, getting used to it.
5. The tyres are so good. I intentionally halted the bike in second gear. To my surprise, the bike didn't get cut off :O But quickly I set the bike moving as I thought playing around with the new engine would be harmful for the bike.
6. I got a crashguard which had paint worn off in few places(small patches though). I noticed it after removing the protective cover it came with. So I hope these scratches and no-paint areas are not a result of a used piece/ a crashed one. The crash guard looks puny too.
7. The footpegs are so low. I had my left foot under the gear lever and when I leaned the bike into a turn, my shoe scraped a bit.
8. I noticed that the bike revs freely compared to my older ride. So its smoother too. Also since I come from clip on handlebars, I like how easy it is to use the single piece one. Feels like a toy. :P
9. Wish I wasn't called back home :P the bike is so good to ride. Lesson learnt, always buy a bike that will make you want to ride again once you get down from it :P Japenese bikes are far better and very user friendly than their Indian counterparts. This is my view and I don't wish to disrespect anyone or any bike in particular.
10. Got thumbs up and stares from fellow gixxer and sf riders. Felt good while on road
11. I suggest all of you to do teflon coating or apply clear sticker. I parked the bike in a dusty area where there were lorries carrying sand and bricks. I thought the bike would have been nasty but surprisingly when I took the bike off the sand, I saw the dust and fine sand falling down on their own. Previously, when my friend and I took his gixxer to far off beaches, we noticed that the sand and dust stick to the bike, even long after the bike was in motion. And you can see a fine layer of the same on the fingers when you wipe it off.
12. The bar end weights, I mean, why are they even there?
13. The fueling in first gear is so not nice. Its not precise. But I love not changing gears frequently and the engine not lugging in higher gears and lower speeds. I came across the gear shift issues; that it is hard. But I feel it will set in soft like my friend's 3000km old gixxer and of course yes, these hard shifts are in a way reassuring that the gear is slotted in place :P Wearing sandals while riding can be painful. Especially the left foot :P
So here is a pic in broad daylight

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
got 250km trip from dehradun to 'new tehri' which involved lots of hilly inclines ,bends etc .I was with my friend who was having 150CBR both were riding with pillions .
Few are the points I noticed during our ride .
1. main stand touches the road when you lean to left side specially if riding with pillion while cornering .Some time it gets scary if doing that maneuver at high speed .The massive mrf tyres give too much confidence to lean at cornering.
2. Gixxer was torquier than the CBR 150 as I was able to defeat him on drag race thanks to higher power to weight ration but on longer run CBR was able to take over the gixxy.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Just two days back I also went for a trip from Chennai to tirumala tirupati. Its almost 170 kms & my friends brought bullet classic 350 & Bajaj avenger. In our team my gixxy is small in cc but all my friends drive my bike for shorter distance & they amazed. We maintained average speed of 85 kmph but I just tested my Gixxer's level of performance. As I touched 115 kmph max. I feel little vibs on the foot pegs as soon as I cross 95 kmph & above. Now I feel the engine more refined & smooth. During the ride we had only 3 halts of just 15 mins. The hill ride was full of fun & it was in the night. I was on 3rd & 4th gear during the hill ride. Gixxer handles well in U bend & hairpin bend. Even on the high altitude gixxer didn't fed up. At last I got mileage of 40 kmpl.Just follow my shadow.

this is nice. Say I'm hiding it on the frame area as shown. I keep it in ON position just so I can start my bike as usual. So, how do I open the frame again and switch it off so that I can park the vehicle safe in a public area and redo the same to start it again once I return?

Maybe you could find a more convenient place for the switch.Originally posted by srinath2494 View Postthis is nice. Say I'm hiding it on the frame area as shown. Btw I've made a mobile phone charger for my bike. [emoji1]
