If you read all the previous posts, you would note that there have been multiple instances of paint peel-off reported by fellow xbhpians(some even put photographs). I'm surprised you guys missed it!
Nevertheless, if the issue has been resolved as you say there is none, thats just great!

Also, other 2 lesser bothersome issues have been poop pillion seating and low ground clearance from an Indian road infra perspective.

The paint peel off you are referring to is not the body paint, but the thermal paint on the clutch case....
Certain batches, specifically those manufactured from December onwards have this...and that too very random cases.

        1. Rusting- Absolutely no rusting. As someone had mentioned before, the Gixxer was stock a couple of months ahead of the lauch so that ppl don't face too much waiting time. Rusting was common only in those initial set which were idle in the yards and you know the yards will be usually poorly maintained.
Paint Chipping- % of bikes with this issue is very small. Even in those cases they have been replaced without much issues.
Hard Gears- People complaining of it are mostly those with very less kms and not yet fully run in. Mine is getting smoother and smoother every day as I drive more. Post 1k service it has become much better than before and now it even smoother. I would say it needs at least 3 to 5k kms to completely run in. Just keep in mind, Suzukis are probably one of the best in gears. My uncle's 15yr Suzuki Fiero gear is still butter smooth.
Tyre Wobbling- I've not come across even a handful of gixxer owners with this issue.

        2. If you're looking for outright performance at that budget go for the 200NS, but if ur looking for quality, better refinement, long term maintenance etc, the Gixxer beats 200NS hands down. And its not a poor performer either. It's the best in 150 cc segment. Remember Bajaj is known for their quality issues and I have first hand experience with pulsar, discover and wave in my family.

        3. 200NS should be a bit taller than the Gixxer, but for 5.7 which is my height too, you won't face any issues with both. The Gixxer will be a little more compact size compared to the 200NS which gives you a big bike feel.

        4. Yes the performance of 200NS is quite beautiful and justifies the price tag. But the real concern is how it holds after a couple of years use. Though the Gixxer is new, I would say the quality of Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki will always be a couple of notches above Bajaj.

Hope I have given you answers to make a decision. You won't regret both bikes. Both are extremely good, 200NS is raw power with macho looks whereas the other is a well put together and super refined Suzuki.
Thanks a lot for the input @ swami.n. It would be very helpful for me to take a decision. Things for me are tilting more in the favour of Gixxer though, given the practicality the bike offers in almost every scenario... I don't want to sound repetitive but the issues i mentioned in my former post are the only factors of concern for me, except which everything indeed is going in the favour of the Gixxer. Although the fact remains true that even these issues I'm talking about were very efficiently addressed by Suzuki. Let me ride the 200NS once and feel its manageability and I'll be soon in for the final decision. :-)

          Hi Guys!
I have been following this thread for the past few days and boy the reviews are good!
I've made up mind to get a Gixxer soon!
Guys from Mumbai can you guide me to a good Suzuki showroom.
I stay in Malad and found the Andheri(Dolphin Suzuki) one closest to me. Is it good or do i look elsewhere?

P.S.: The Andheri one is quoting 88k OTR.

My bike had its 1st rain experience on 28th Feb. The outcome was it looked like a dirt bike.

I had approached the SVC couple of weeks before for want of accessories but they don't even have a footrest for ladies, let alone mudgaurd protection against rains.
Needless to talk of my jeans and boots.
Was rain expected at this point - no way

                1. Price difference on showroom and website price(2K, I am from pune). Is it ok?
                2. Can we get any discount or offers from showroom or from Suzuki for this?
                3. What are other necessary things we need to purchase along with Bike.?

Also can you please post this to "Suzuki Gixxer 155" ownership thread.

                Thanks,
                Vijay

I had asked this question in December and am asking for suggestions once again. It took me an hour to clean my bike yesterday and today rains again played spoilsport while going to office.I feel if this rear mudgaurd is attached it should help not only me but also a lot of fellow gixxer owners.request members to explain pros and cons.

It requires owners gixxer and fz16 to come together and tinker about compatibility; esp the mounting points. Every other means are apparently expensive.

                    Btw, I liked r15-v2 tyre-hugger more than fz16 v2.

fitting the FZ tyre hugger would be a tedious process...
better option will be attaching a small rubber flap to the end of the existing tyre hugger...

and if possible we can fit the front mudguard extension of Duke in Gixxer's front mudguard...

                        Agreed.
The r15 tyre is much more aesthetically done.
Having said that, vijay's solution if the front mudguard extension is the most practical.
What I have found from my rain riding experience is that, the mud splash on the rear portion of the bike is mainly a result of other vehicles splashing the water onto you.
One peaceful rain experience, found that if you ensure water doesnt splash onto you, the the real pain point is only around the crash guard area, and the rear mudguard. Even my monoshock was relatively clean given the conditions I rode in.

Yes I thought of fitting Yamaha's rear mudguard from my local mechanic but wasnt sure as if its not properly done will be a costly affair.front mudgaurd solution provided seems ideal.thank you for the inputs.

                                Hi fellow Gixxer owners...

Regarding rain issue, I feel the same. There is lot of mud coming from the front tyre.. the duke mudgaurd extension seems like a good idea...
Even from the back tyre there is mud falling on top of the pillion riders feet..

Its been 300+ kms in my odo, I checked my mileage twice and I seem to be getting only around 39 kms. Anybody facing similar issue? please suggest..
