Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
you got 39kmpl, I got only 37kmpl and was frustated. Its only after 2000kms my mileage is being consistent at 46~47kmpl.Originally posted by lazarus View PostIts been 300+ kms in my odo, I checked my mileage twice and I seem to be getting only around 39 kms. Anybody facing similar issue? please suggest..
Also after reduction in petrol prices most petrol bunks in my place started cheating. Check that too.. I once filled Rs.50 petrol for testing and I got 14kms for 0.75liters(pump reading).
I am bringing up this question again to all owners: - what is the difference between city mileage and highway mileage, because I see no difference at all and even 1 or 2 kms less than city riding. Totally confused.

I questioned myself the same, but purchased Blue only and there are no regrets.Originally posted by wandarer View PostWhich is the best looking colour on Gixxer? I liked the blue. But does it look bit gaudy?
Don't choose Grey at allllll. I saw a grey colored Gixxer which was covered with dust and oh my god that was an instant Turn-off.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Will the service center people accept our own oil instead of their recommended oil?
I just purchased Elf MOTO4 Tech 10w50 and planning to go for second service tomorrow.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Some svc accepts and some other rejects and says your warrenty will be void bla bla bla... But considering the grade you have chosen while suzuki recomended grade is 10w40 i doubt if they willing to do it... In my opinion don't try other grade oil. untill the engine is properly settled in. Also fs oils are not recomended for run in period. After some 6000 kms you can try this by a local mech or by your self.
A thicker oil will reduce acceleration and fuel economy a little.Last edited by Jith_in; 03-02-2015, 11:51 PM.Off the BOTTLE & On the THROTTLE

With increasing daytime temperatures in my area my Engine is heating up pretty quickly even with a 10km riding and the bike is emanating paint smell(which did not happen in winter).
That is why I chose 10w50.

Ohh.. It's my mistake so you can use 10w50 too.. But during engine run-in avoid using a fully synthetic oil. Better keep it for changes after 6 k.Originally posted by sandeepcf View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Completed 900 kms on my Gixxer. First service was done at 700 kms. The gearshifts have really settled down now- now the 'box is effortless yet feels precise to operate. I am revving it to 6500 rpm now- up from 4500 rpm before the first service.
The bike has been ridden through heavy rain for 2 consecutive days. When I started it today morning, the electric starter wouldn't respond for the first couple of times. I kick-started it(it started at the first attempt), then switched it off and tried with the thumb starter again. The bike started this time and the starter worked faultlessly through the rest of the day- it was used on numerous occasions as I rode nearly a 100 kms today. I guess the slight malfunction was down to the starter coil getting wet due to tons of splashed water. Will have to observe this over a longer period, although I'm nearly certain it was a one-off thing.
On another note, it is frustrating as hell to spend an hour washing the bike every morning for 3 consecutive days, only to have it muddied the very same evening! I don't know what I will do in the monsoons.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It is not a one time thing atleast for me. The problem resurfaced after a long time and the malfunction happened atleast 3 times in a 2 day period. It was really embarrassing when I couldn't start the engine when the traffic signal went green from red and people honking behind me.Originally posted by Ajinx View Postalthough I'm nearly certain it was a one-off thing.

When was this? Did it recur after the 2 days? If yes, what steps did you take?Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostIt is not a one time thing atleast for me. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
In my opinion,200NS is a cheap piece of metal with a motor. People have a problem with the Duke 200s exhaust note.Just wait until you hear the 200NS's exhaust note...oh wait, there is NO exhaust note, its the chain rattling that you hear!!!Originally posted by SUSHANT RANJAN View PostHello guys,
I've been following this thread since recent times since the commencement of my plan to buy a new bike for myself. I'm new to bikes and do not have much experience riding the same. As far as my choice for bikes is considered, I've shortlisted the Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar 200NS as the difference of price between them is just Rs. 15k which is making things all the more confusing for me.
What I've sorted out after reading all the posts on this thread is that there are certain common issues with Gixxer reported by many owners including rusting, paint chipping off, hard gear shifts, tyre wobbling, etc. So my first question to all of you...Do these issues exist anymore in your Gixxer...? Or have they been sorted out...?
Secondly, also I'd request all the experts here to kindly recommend me either of the bikes (200NS or the Gixxer) based on the fact that my maximum ride will be in the city with occasional highway trips, although the lesser mileage of 200NS (compared to Gixxer) won't be a big problem for me since my running is quite less.
It is only these issues relating to the Gixxer reported commonly by owners on this thread which is not very confident-inspiring when you have your hard-earned money at stake. XBHPians provide your insight please.
Just for info, I'm 22 years old with height 5'7" weight 72kgs, which won't be a problem driving/handling the Gixxer in my opinion...What about the 200NS in same respect...?
Also, is the performance of 200NS compared to the Gixxer so stupendous so as to justify spending an extra Rs. 15k on that...?
Please help me to make a choice by answering the questions I've written in bold. Thanks a lot in advance... :-)You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Completed 2360 kms, yesterday went to sv to increase throttle response. He set normal idle rpm to 1.5k rpm but when driving idle rpm was reaching 2.5k + so I myself set idle rpm on 1k and now my bike feels super smooth and gear shift is butter smooth.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Guys is there any problem in driving Gixxer about 130km before the first service ? Because I have to goto my native for registration process. I don't want to register it in the current city I am living right now. Is there anything to take care during the trip ? Or not at all recommended ? Pelase advice.Owns : Baby Gixxer

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
No problem. Just keep the rpm's that are recommended in the manual and don't ride at constant rpm/speed for long. Keep varying. And if you like, take rest of 10-15 mins after 70kms.Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostGuys is there any problem in driving Gixxer about 130km before the first service ?
