  • Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155

Hi.. I have bought a Blue Gixxer on 8th Jan. Completed 1750 KM till now. I have an issue: when I open the throttle to accelerate, the engine accelerates rapidly without me revving. Happens after I cross 4.5K RPM. When I close the throttle, engine becomes normal. This issue has started after I complained to the SVC about the hard gear shifts and they replaced the Gear shafts and springs. Any suggestions? Thanks

Even i also changed the some spring which rectified the hard gear shifts & gears not engaging properly but didnt faced the issue as u stated.
I think the culprit is throttle cable get it checked in the svc.

Also, the bike is not smooth as I have felt the vibrations transferred from the engine onto the handlebar and the footpegs after crossing 5.5k RPM. How's your experience when ridden above 5.5K RPM?

Check if your clutch lever is having proper play as mentioned in manual. May be the clutch is slightly engaged causing bike to rev more without building speed. This may cause increases vibes as well.

Dont think too much about the runin process max rpm u can reach is 4.5k but dont ride at constant speed vary the rpm not the speed after 500km u can give the engine short bursts up to 5 k rpm thats it.

Completed my first service at 877 kms! Guys, I feel I have been ripped off with the chain cleaning and lubrication part! 215+ rupees only for that. Is this the normal price? They used two different MOTUL cans(one for cleaning and another for lubrication). Please advise.

Also experiencing the paint peeling off issue near the engine oil inlet(will post pics of it later) casing like a few others on here just after a month of purchasing. My service centre has agreed to replace this for me and they have ordered the part already from Suzuki along with replacing the kicker lever which they have scratched before delivering the bike to me!

On the plus side, immediately after engine oil change, I feel gear shifts have loosened up a bit. I wouldn't call it butter smooth yet but I can notice a good difference from what it used to be before. Should I still force my SVC to change the clutch spring that you all got changed or give it some time and see if it smoothens further?

I just did it yesterday after my first service! Removing 8 screws is all it takes. The naked rear looks good but water splash(on your own bike and people riding behind your bike) will definitely increase if the route/road you take normally to wherever you go has stagnant water. So it's your judgement call.

The chain cleaning and lubrication part is a complete rip off in Suzuki for gixxer:banghead: I forbade them to do so during the service.. Still they performed it saying "its a compulsion" for the price they charge, we can actually buy a large can of chain lub:what:
About the clutch spring change, I did not get mine changed... There are no problems while shifting at all, for me, after first service... So I think its ur discretion

Don't have pics of my bike with rear mud guard removed yet! Posting a couple of pics from other users from a fb group I am part of.

                            1. Chain clean and lubing is a complete loot. Rs. 215 for a tiny amount of magic liquid sprayed is a lot. You can buy OKS chain spray in 200 or less for a small can that be used for 5 or more times depending on how generous you are on the can nozzle.

                            2. Get the clutch adjusted first and check if you can find the gearshifts better. Even after adjusting clutch if you don't find it getting better, try the other way of asking them to check/change the clutch spring.
                            Regards,

Is the Gear Shift problem common in most of the Gixxers?
My friend is facing tough time shifting gears, even after 1st service the gear shifting is very very hard.

Its only for first service as they are using some special technique for it. From next time they will charge only 20 bucks for chain lubrication

I think they charged so much because they used Motul for it. I have a Pulsar 200 DTSI and it has an O-ring chain. I use OKS chain lubricant spray for lubricating the chain and its cheaper than Motul. For cleaning i believe that there might be cheaper stuff in the market.
