Hey truelypulsarian, As I had mentioned in a previous post, I got my Engine oil changed @ 500kms at an outside shop.
I used same spec Honda engine oil. Now they've used the official oil during my 1st service.
I did not feel any difference in the performance or mileage.

I also plan to change oil @ around 1750-2000, which will be either Shell or Honda. I even got 2 spare oil filters when I did my service so that I can use it while changing oil outside.

After 6or7k kms I plan to move to fully synthetic, shell helix ultra.

As I said in my previous post, entirely your judgement call. Depends on where you live, how watery your daily commuting route is and what season in the year you are removing the mudguard etc. With summer fast approaching, this is the right time to remove the extended mudguard as rains are rare.

That sounds good! By any chance, can we get this OKS chain spray online? If so, please post a link for us here.

Complain to suzuki regarding this poor quality paint job if possible with pics.
This is not at all expected from suzuki. My friends gs150r engine paint is still in good condition after 3 years of purchase.

I would have done that but my service centre straight away agreed to replace it for me after seeing it! So for now, I am holding back. My only concern is what if the replacement part also brings up the same problem after a month or two since a lot of people are reporting the same problem on here.

You do keep inspecting your engine often to see if any paint is peeling off! I hope it doesn't happen for you but we both purchased our bikes around the same time so the possibilities of both our bikes being in the same batch is high.

Mine is December 2014 too and hence I told that to you! BTW, the manufacturing date you see on the monoshock is not of the bike's! It is the manufacturing date of the monoshock. My monoshock had 8.12.2014 on it. The underbelly of my seat had 12/12/14 marked on it. My dealer got the bike delivered to him on the 26th of December. So it is safe to say that my bike was assembled roughly after the 12th of December and before the 20th considering it takes atleast 6-7 days for the lorries to drive down from Gurgoan to Bangalore.

Read my post above, also your RC book will have the right information as to when(month and year) exactly the bike was manufactured as both the RTO and insurance company make a note of it.

If nut and bolt is lost, take it to SVC immediately. They will have to replace it free of charge since it was their fault delivering the bike to you without proper checks.

You can go to the 1st service at 750+ kms on the odo.

The way to check the Manufacturing Date is by comparing the chassis code(VIN-Vehicle Identification Number). Every manufacturer has a certain alpha-numeric system corresponding to month/year. Just check which alphabet/number corresponds to month/year after checking suzuki's system...

If one were to have a VIN such as MB8NG4BALE8XXXXXX..... the 10th and 11th digits correspond to Year and month. Which in this case & my bike is 2014'August...

Gixxer's manufactured in 2015, will have 'F', instead of the 'E'. People in the know, correct me if iam wrong.

Also, for people complaiining about the hard gear shift, give it till about 1500-1700kms. Also, suzuki have always been known to have the best gearshifters, right from their Samurai, shaolin days. The thing is, you shouldnt compare it to the Fz or other bikes. In this(or at least my friend's), the gear was smooth to the point of slippery where you dont feel the lever clicking into place.
Point is, even after the gears loosen up, the travel will be butter smooth, but the gear will still have that definitive click for which you need to give a bit of pressure from your foot. hmm...hope i made myself clear.

Got my 2 chain cleaning and lubrication done today evening got charged Rs125/- as asked the service personnel to tune the monoshock to 3 setting as I was finding it quite stiff on setting number 4 and hurting my back , kms done till now 2500kms with a mileage of 41-43kms , same area near the clutch case as posted in earlier posts noticed paint chipoff they took a photograph and told me to come back when the new part comes delivered to them

Why so low mileage? You drive mostly on low gears with more acceleration?
Do check your acceleration level, it's 0 or +2.
When I got my gixxer delivered it was +2 and then they did set in on 0.
My milage is consistent above 50 always.
