      I AM FROM KOLKATA

I can tell you the reason for cracked mirror as I too have a cracked mirror after i parked my gixxer on the parking lot .

If you parked your bike near the wall slightly touching your mirror ,then if some one pushes your bike with little force( unintentionally) the whole pressure goes to the mirrors & it cracks easily as the cladding is not thick enough to buffer minor bumps at certain angles .
I faced this too & got cracked LHS Mirror on the parking lot
Now I take care while parking my bike near to wall touching the mirrors .

I took my Gixxer with 310kms on the odo to Bombay on Sunday, and came back today, Tuesday. The ride was really fun. I was a bit worried about how I'd manage to ride on the ghats, when I'm still not comfortable with taking sharp turns. But, I shouldn't have worried. The bike took care of me.

The ride was really comfortable. The seating position didn't tire me at all on the journey. I was really comfortable all through the ride. The only part of me that did need a break was my butt. The seats need more cushioning!!

The brakes are really crisp and gave me tons of confidence. The engines got enough grunt that I didn't need to downshift too often on my journey back up. I was in 5th for most of the ride. Even when I was doing long inclines. The throttle response was fantastic even while going uphill, in 5th gear. I'm still in the running in period, so I didn't go over 4500rpm( ~62km/h), but the bike used to go from 40-60 in 5th almost instantaneously, while going uphill! I did downshift over steep slopes, but that was usually to 4th gear. The only times I went below that were when I slowed down for speed-breakers and sharp turns.
There was just 1 time that I went into second to climb a hill. That was for a stretch of ghats that was really steep, and had turns too sharp for an inexperienced rider like me to navigate at speed.

I'd filled the tank a week before I left, and added 1.5lts on the return journey, because the fuel indicator was showing 2 bars.
So far, with about 14 lts totally filled, and with 2 bars still showing on the fuel gauge, the bikes covered about 550kms. That's 300kms on the highway, and 250 in the city. So, assuming there's about 4lts still in the tank, it works out to an average of about 55-58 kmpl in ~50-50 mixed riding. And means that I should be able to cover about 550-600kms per tank fill, in good road conditions. Which is more than enough to visit all but the remotest of places.

On my journey to Bombay, and the trip back to Pune, I saw plenty of bikers out on their machines, enjoying the open roads. There were a few guys on Harleys. An entire group on their Enfields. And bunches of guys on Dukes zipping by. The road was filled with them on Sunday. Surprisingly there were plenty of bikers out for pleasure on Tuesday as well.
But, when I think about my journey, passing through miles of greenery, feeling cool clean fresh air wash over my body, over roads that are in really good shape, with enough turns and hills to keep things interesting, and with a machine between my legs that I'm having a ton of fun playing with (!!!!), I think I shouldn't be surprised at how many people take their bikes out just for the thrill of the ride.

I took just 1 break on both legs of my journey. The first time, because I was tired, and the second, because I was hungry. I didn't click many pictures, but I did capture a couple of my bike for this forum.

          Hi,
I recently faced thus issue as SVC meddled with carb. Ask them to tune it properly.

            Hi.
How and where did you get the tank stuckering done?
Any particular brand of sticker. I have placed mine the same way, but the part in front of the rank near the V crease is slightly pulling up and not lying flat.

Have you cleaned that ??? I found the reason. Person who sits in pillion will keep their heel on the chrome cover. Due to mud may be the chrome peeled off. Take to SCV & shout for replacement. I found this major issue on my first sight of gixxer & reported to showroom manager.

Sure this youtube video will help our gixxer owners to know more about carb. I think gixxy is having similiar kind of carb UCAL UCD29. But you can understand the principle & functioning.

                              Anyone getting unrealistic mileage figures?
I did a mileage check by refueling with 2 liter petrol & the return I got was just 62 kms i.e 31 kmpl. Despite riding at a low speed & keeping rpm around 4-6k. This happened two times back to back.
Strangely few days back while on highway with speed hovering around 70-80 kmph most of the time I got 42 kmpl. Strange indeed! [emoji17]
