I couldn't get any solution here..
Although every bike has minimal vibe in its power and, which for us is 50-65, mine was vibing excessively.
So I took it to the SVC knowing its a carb issue. Someone messed with during my 2nd svs.
He spent half hour tuning it. anand and SatSon explained it depends on how rich/lean the carb is tuned. Has to be retuned to how factory set it.
Its fine now. Good way to check is a super smooth and steady idle.

So after tuning does your bike still gives vibe or it has completely vanished?

Hey guys! Planning to get a gixxer next month. Gonna be my first motorcycle. Was confused between this and the fz v2 but after the test drive found myself leaning more towards the gixxer. Now my only concern is the reliability of the bike and after sales service in Chennai. Can any long term user shed light on this?

Hello,

I love this thread. Helped me a lot to zero-in on Gixxer.
Has anyone taken his Gixxer for a tour (say >700kms)? I bought mine in March and since 1st service is done, I am thinking of taking her for a long spin!
Any suggestions??

Thanks all.

I did Pune to Mumbai last weekend, and this was before the first servicing. 400kms in 2 days. The bike did it with ease, but then it's not a long enough trip to tax the bike. I don't think you'll have a problem on a 700km trip. Go for it. As long as you don't get too rev happy you should be fine.

First service done @ 1015kms...
engine & gearshifts feel smoother now...
(have also changed the engine oil @ 500kms from outside mechanic).

Total bill - 536rs.

Is the chain cleaning & chain lube price of 150rs. & 75rs. resp the standard rate..??
or was i charged more..??

Totally not acceptable. Chain cleaning & lube totally not worth for the price paid. U can do it by yourself. There r lot many videos avbl in YouTube for reference if u r a starter. You can buy 3M lube & cleaner for Rs. 300 & can be used 3-4 times.

Thanks mate! Yes.. I did a small one to Lohgad Fort (about 150 kms to-n-fro) and bike was stressfree all along. just wanted to have some experience about the preformance for long trips, confort when driving 100km+ in a single go, etc etc..

Hi
I'm from Chennai. My bike is just 2 months old. I was doing research for the past 1 yr & since the launch of gixxer. Its really value for money bike & Suzuki is a global brand & they also focus on reliability & it'll run for years. Regarding after sales that depends upon the scv. My scv is not bad but you should raise your voice in all scv's to get the job done. It's the universal truth. I'm really happy now & will be happy in future.

Hi Vjay
I'd second Dynamo on his opinion as rs 225 is a high rate for chain clean and lube.
If you prefer DIY which I love personally, you can get a variety of chain lubes available in the market : few notable names are-
1)oks chain spray : approx rs 300
2 )motul chain lube: rs 550 for 500ml
3) TVS chain spray:
4) 3m chain lube:

Local ones like Diamond chain lube (rs100 ) etc are also there,

Cheaper alternative methods also include using sae90 gear oils.
All depends on what you prefer.

For cleaning chain you may do it yourself by putting the bike in center stand and using a brush and solvent or cleaner to clean and then apply the lube or.
You can go to a local mech-pay him 50bucks to clean and lube your chain.
The rates are moderate everywhere and range in the bill you showed but owing to the 14.5% vat and 4% approx service charge the bill amount looks a bit bigger.
You can avoid and get a lube and be happy for the next 2000-3000kms approx depending on usage
Regards and ride safe.

I did my first service and had around 5-6 ltrs of fuel filled. Ridden for 180 km and fuel indicator is on last point...Is this common or should I check with SVC????
