Is the throttle lever resting on the idle screw? If not, adjust throttle play keeping handle bar straight and then check and adjust idle. The throttle lever should rest on the idle screw and should not hang mid air.

The problem may be bcoz of choke on the left. Do check the position of choke & keep this closed. As told by john p Daniel adjust idiling properly.

            • Regarding Hard Gear shifting problem

              Hi all,

As i have mentioned in the forum earlier about the HARD GEAR SHIFTING PROBLEM in Gixxer and my Complaint in the official Suzuki India website

To all my fellow Gixxer owners, Kindly file a complaint in website if you are not satisfied with the service they provide because that will only be an end point which forces the service shop to work upon the issue made in website from Suzuki India.

Ultimately you don't need to go upon service people for any issues, instead you will get mails and calls from service people.

Today im happy to the core that myself and my Beast GixxY, we both are served with utmost care by service people which is entirely different from what we both experienced during 1st and 2nd service.

Now, the service people are saying, we will open the gear system and check each & every part with utmost care, look upon the damage part if any and will replace anything from bolt to any huge part that is damaged to make the gear system smooth and proper without any further glitch in shifting gears.

Lets me wait and see, What they change or replace or clean in the Gear system of my Beast so that its proper and smooth

              And

To someone in the thread who pointed improper gear shift while driving by riders is the cause for hard shift.

Baby i think you are kidding upon you, i have a doubt that you are new to biking and such a thing what you pointed will happen only to New amateur drivers.

Gixxer is not my first gear bike further im riding 40 kms daily both in highways and nook streets around city.

Now the bike has crossed 5500 kms in 5.5 months.

              -----------------

              Finally

Let me come back to you all once the bike is out from his treatment to share what is the reason for hard gear shift from service people point of view and how they rectified the issue or is it same as before.

                • Guys.. One if my friend's Gixxer has a faulty engibe kill switch.. He went to Svc and they said it will cost 270..since the warranty guy was not there so they asked for the charge.. They also said to take a written notice so that he gets his money back if this falls under warranty...

It should be replaced under warranty right? He doesn't have extended warranty

The hard shifting persisted in the beginning.. I went to the svc and they lubed it and it got smooth after that.. Its hard but still not as it was before.. And the gear problem while downshifting has been faced by all of my friends too.. Suppose i am at 4th gear 35kmph..suddenly you have to slow down.. At that time while downshifting sometimes it doesn't.. There's no gear indicator on the display too.. This happens mostly in 3rd and 2nd gear.. This got reduced after i went to svc.. But i faced twice after that.. And my friends face it too sometimes..

Nevertheless i still live the Gixxer.. Its gearshift may be hard but i love it.. The 'kat' sound i hear feels as if the gear has locked in the position.. Heck even when i try to ride an Apache i feel uncomfortable with the shifting.. The gear feels so loose..

                  Gixxer.. The beast💪✌👊

Clean the disk & pad with water.

I would suggest members posted of this issue to visit your respective SVC fellow and convince him in trying this.guys I would not say this is the solution but at least in my case after so many kms also I was not happy with it.in fact the regular didn't service yesterday and this new fellow finally got my work done.am happy and he asked me to check the performance this week and come back if any issues.
