Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
First I upgraded with Philips Premium 55/60w and there was good improvement, Currently I am using Philips Xtreme vision 55/60w and the difference is much more noticeable.
Infact the low beam is better than my friend's 100/90w Hella bulb in his 200NS.
Any 55/60w is definitely better than the current 35/35 bulb for sure.
You can try Xtreme vision or Osram Night breaker.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Where did you get the Xtreme vision? AFAIK it is dicontinued from the company itself. Would be great if I get my hand on one. And how much does it cost?Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostFirst I upgraded with Philips Premium 55/60w and there was good improvement, Currently I am using Philips Xtreme vision 55/60w and the difference is much more noticeable.

Currently I'm using 55/60 Premium Vision and it works fine. The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yes you are correct, It is indeed discontinued according to the Philips marketing executive who was present at the shop when I purchased the bulb. I was lucky as I got the last piece(single blister pack). It was manufactured in the year 2012(made in poland) and it costed me Rs.600.Originally posted by Avinash666 View PostWhere did you get the Xtreme vision? According to the link provided by Habshan this might be the new bulb - Xtreme vision PLUS as it quotes +130% where as xtreme vision is +100% and xtreme Power is +80%.
You can even consider
if you want 4000K color temperature; Xtreme vision is 3700KLast edited by sandeepcf; 07-23-2015, 01:37 AM.

Any difference with such a little color temperature variation?

You could share a couple of photos to make a better impact.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostFirst I upgraded with Philips Premium 55/60w and there was good improvement, Currently I am using Philips Xtreme vision 55/60w and the difference is much more noticeable.

Doesn't 55/60w bulbs throw more heat in comparison to stock 35w?

Is it a direct fit on the Gixxer, or we gotta do some modifications? Also, will it hamper battery charging/discharging?Originally posted by Habshan View PostPhilips 12342XVPB1 H4 12V 60/55W X-treme Vision Plus Car Headlight Bulb: Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Check with your ASC... If ASC says higher power Headlight bulb does not violate warranty terms, buy one and ask for their help in changing it..Originally posted by amruthvvkp View PostWill changing the headlight bulb void any warranty?
We have strange rules implementation , while some ASCs are different than others...I had read in different forums how ASC helped in filling Engine Oil Different from recommended, and also how ASC is very strict in following the book. I guess it all depends on the customer , and Service Center relationship. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
got call from dealer yesterday saying" sir suzuki conducting the service camp on 21&22nd of this month "went with a expectation to meet some comapany engineers or higher authorities to complain about the hard gear shifts and other issues.i was expecting to see state sales head and service head as they are in my whatsapp so i went
,but for my surprise i came up with this banner
it was for gixxer and sf chain lube camp .i asked him is it free? he said actually we cost it 80-100 during the service
but now its for 70rupees only...there was no officials no nothing ..i told him i have motul in home i will do it my self and tomorrow im giving my bike for 2nd service so it will be useless if opt for it now..he asked me to take one picture of my bike i told him okay..and i know one mechanic in this workshop he is well know to me i call him uncle and he is the only one with some good expeirence .he took my bike and i told to him about my hard gear issues and he said few days back company engineers came here and told us about the issue and they asked me about the issues customers complaing .they told us the issue of gearbox was exsist in gixxer and they will send parts for replacemenst if you complaint them(i gave complaint againest dealer in past so this mechanic dont want to get scold by his boss for giving me this info).and he lubed the chan and adjusted clutch .other side show room guy was taking pic to submit to suzuki as of no gixxers came for this camp due to lack of awareness .mechanic lubed the chain for free and
today i gave my bike for 2nd service.service manager was present today "he got pissed cause last time i complained againest the dealership"this time he was cautios with me and said "anna any complaint "i said "no came for second service

"he said "okay nice rim strips where did you got them?"i told him from online and i said gears became hard and downshift became pain and bike refuses to downshift on sudden stopping gear box having issues i told him with humble voice
"he said yes yesterday we conducted camp to solve gear isssuers .in gixxer aprt from lubing we got instruction from company to widen the airfilter hole
?? And change the worn rubber gasket!!""" and from my last complaint againest the rusted bolt he remebered it and told the mechanic to replace the part as it was arrived to him decades before...
.. I told him i have chain lube so just change the engine oil and handle is not smooth 'he said okay and quoted 290/- rupess estimated and mechanic told me that handle became bit hard and i told them to lube some bolts and im happy with the mileage im getting 50kmpl..and came home
now from this it seems like suzuki doing hard home work to clear the issues and boost the sales good work suzuki ..but i still dont know when they resolve the gear issues ..asper the service manager "suzuki doing un official or secret recall ?!!!!! for gear issues "
??im thinking to log a complaint!!or should i ask state service head in whatsapp to let me know when he next gonna visit my city(as per mechanic dealer management not informing suzuki offcials visit to service cenetr cause of the customers feedback might be negative on dealer.and mechanic told me that suzuki team will visit dealer each month and include one enginer and a service sales heads .so im planing to get notified by whatsapp from the service head of this state on his next visit to explain this issue and get it resolved under his supervison.last time sale head called me and asked me to meet him to resolve issues as he became a good friends in whatsapp cause of my exams i told him im sorry i cant and he said its okay we try on next meet..) have to see whats gonna happen .i dont know what new issues gonna rise up as few members here got drop in mileage after 2nd service

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yes it's a direct fit. I swapped the bulb myself, following the manual. About the battery, sandeepcf has been using it for 8 months, and me for 4 months. No issues so far.Originally posted by eddyjamerson View PostIs it a direct fit on the Gixxer, or we gotta do some modifications? Also, will it hamper battery charging/discharging?
However, I did some calculations and I suppose a fully charged battery would die if the headlamp(60 watts) is to be switched on for ~30-35 mins without the engine running.
Cheers !

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yes that is true. The bike has a DC electrical system I think, so it basically drains the battery if the headlight is turned on without the engine running. But what concerns me is that will the battery life worsens if I upgrade the headlight.Originally posted by Habshan View PostYes it's a direct fit. I swapped the bulb myself, following the manual. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
An automotive or starting battery is designed for brief bursts of high current and cannot withstand more than a few deep discharges before failure. Which is why I calculated the time in which the battery will be deeply discharged, so that it can be avoided.Originally posted by amruthvvkp View PostYes that is true. The bike has a DC electrical system I think, so it basically drains the battery if the headlight is turned on without the engine running. But what concerns me is that will the battery life worsens if I upgrade the headlight.
About battery life, there are many factors which determine it. In a word, yes, the battery life will shorten if the load is increased. But the real question is, by how much? In our scenario, I'd say not much.
The life span of a battery depends on how you use it. That's the no. of charge cycles, Operating temperatures, temperatures the battery has been exposed to, how long the battery sits between charges, deep discharges etc.
It's not worth looking into all these factors just for the sake of upgrading the headlamp.
In my opinion, we pay for the battery for the utility it offers. And the load increase here is not very high, that it takes the battery out of it's comfort zone. So, if you are concerned about safety and need more lighting, just go ahead with the upgrade and claim the warranty if the battery gives up in the period. Or if you are too concerned about the life span of your battery, you could stick to the stock headlamp and change the battery in 2 years anyway.[emoji1]
Peace !
