Actually I came to know about this Teflon coating in Suzuki Gixxer SF Subforum. In some Suzuki showrooms they are adding this in accessories list, but I was not aware this when I bought my bike.

First of all Teflon is a registered brand name owned by the makers DuPont.
They do not make any such coating for automobile industry.
Secondly, for a teflon coating to adhere to any surface, it needs to undergo a chemo thermo reaction. Typical example of teflon coating is the non stick pan/tava your mom uses in the kitchen.the coating is bonded using extreme temp and pressure.
What the showroom guys claim as teflon coat is nothing other than a decent polish which wont last very long if bike is used daily. Ur best bet is keep ur bike dusted.dont wash too often.when u do wash, use shampoo generously to ensure dirt is suspended before u wash it with clean water.once surface is clean, use any half decent polish like waxpol or formula1 or turtle to get a nice shine...dont get carried away spending big money on meguirs etc and microfibre cloth etc. ive been there n done that..bloody waste of money[emoji23] .use ur old soft cotton t-shirt.

You will get it at any local automotive shop that sells spares or accessories.

I hope Polish has nothing to do with rust.

Try Eurogold once it is very quick in its job. Yes Soft Inner Vest type material is very effective. Teflon coating never lasts more than a month depending on dirt and dusts...they will even restrict you to use waxpol kind of polish so from 1 month to 6 month you can not do any thing for your bike except waiting for next teflon coating...

I have heard 3m products are also good though I never used it.

Hi guys finally took delivery of my bike, while returning back home it was drizzling now bike is all muddy. And one query I am hearing two sounds when bike is in idle from engine cylinder and silencer is this normal in gixxer ? I never heard this sound like these two sounds in any other bike except pulsar which will have whizzing sound from cylinder. But in my bike it's like air intake help me out.

Hi,got 3rd service done yesterday at 7700 kms on the odo.as I had quoted earlier about hard downshifts earlier I had requested the SVC to change clutch parts which they were not having in the first place and also were not sure whether it will be done for free or not.this delayed my service and I gave them some time to come out with a solution as they requested me not to post on Suzuki website as it will turn out to be a complaint against them.yesterday also they didn't have any answer and asked me to get d service done without making oil change and later come some other day for clutch parts and oil change.I had to pressurise them and after couple of hours they got approval for doing the needful.work reg clutch parts got over in a hour and to my surprise they didn't charge me labour charges and gasket replacement as they told it would be applicable.the SVC guy removed the whole clutch casing to replace with new parts but instead clieaned every part and refitted them without letting me be aware of it.the result was that very surprising for me because the downshifting now is so smooth that I am amazed and have no words.because of him cleaning every part and lubricating them appropriately the issue is gone.now my downshifts are smoother then the upshifts and sometimes from 5th gear I go to 3rd as its smooth.I need to get smooth now [emoji12].
I would suggest members posted of this issue to visit your respective SVC fellow and convince him in trying this.guys I would not say this is the solution but at least in my case after so many kms also I was not happy with it.in fact the regular didn't service yesterday and this new fellow finally got my work done.am happy and he asked me to check the performance this week and come back if any issues.

Good to hear. People who face this problem usually don't run in the bike properly. They may vary the rpm and speed regularly but they don't understand that the gearbox needs to be worked in order to vary the speeds during run in. It is advisable for everyone in the run in period to use their bikes in streets and in traffic where it is subjected to proper gear changes and also not to avoid any speed breakers as it will force riders to downshift and upshift regularly. Don't hesitate coming all the way down to first gear and then going back up to 5th.

But it also has to be noted that the bike must be revved evenly. So its good to take the bike to open roads but not keep it in the same gear and at same rpm for longer periods. To break the wrong notion prevailing, this bike has great low and mid range torque but that doesn't mean it is a scoot :P don't slot it in 5th gear and ride around like a scoot until the engine lugs and you are forced to downshift. Don't escape the strain; work through the gears, brakes and rpm properly. The tyres will also automatically break in optimally if the speeds, roads and turns are constantly varied

I find this complaint most in cases where the bike is not ridden as it should be during the run in period.

Actually he opened the casing to place new parts but later told that the existing ones were good enough and needed to be properly cleaned and fitted and may be would not have been done by the factory earlier.so he refitted them with care and sorted the issue.wish this was done at the 1st or 2nd service when I raised the. Issue.I had followed the run in method properly as per the manual and what srinath2424 told. My running is daily around 50 kms and mostly 60-40 highway-peak traffic.so it was beneficial to me That I could change gears optimally as well as run the. Engine properly on the open highways.

Check throttle play is within spec. Also ensure correct idle after checking throttle play.
