Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Its actually a lot more easier to maintain in Rain if you can just allocate a good 15 minutes. What I do in rainy season is, before end of the day, I just pour a couple of mugs of water when the dirt is still wet. It will immediately remove the mud. Wipe with a wet cloth and pour another couple of mugs to remove the remaining dirt and wipe with a dry cloth. By this way, my bike is always spic and span when I take it out in the morning.Originally posted by kypa View PostVery rightly said.the only time I get is to clean d bike thoroughly on weekends.hence the new bike look is gone. Ya but daily cleaning in these rains are a pain.

Polish the bike once in a month or so.
In summer(Which is close to 8 months here in chennai :-)) its totally different. Just as Dynamo said, remove the dust with and just wipe with a wet cloth. More than enough.
Always ensure that the bike is not left wet and allowed to dry on its own. It spoils a lot of parts. One small suggestion is, try to avoid washing the bike as much as possible. Water is a chief enemy to many parts. I even tell not to do water wash while leaving for service. I always ensure my bike is neat, even when giving for service. And I ask them not to wipe also. Usually they used recycled water which harms the paint and use oil cloth which again spoils the shine.Last edited by swami.n; 07-14-2015, 12:20 PM.

Will cause vibes and reduce chain life. Nothing much.Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostI couldn't find time to lube my chain due to my hectic work schedule. It is been 1400km+ now.
I think I can make it only on this weekend. Running like this will make any serious issues ?

However, it hardly takes 2 min to lube the chain before one goes to sleep at night.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Drove the bike under heavy rain for 4-5 days & i could see rust marks on the chain ,so i took a tooth brush & engine oil in bottle cap & did a chain brush while doing tooth brush
Now both are shining good even after I drove in rain last week .

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Happened to find the following poster in the waiting area of my SVC in Bangalore. From what I see, this price for chain cleaning and lubing should be universal across India as it has been set by Suzuki themselves. Seems like most of the SVC's are ripping us off by charging more than 200+ rupees. Will be complaining to Suzuki India about this and I urge you all to do the same.Originally posted by imranaryan View PostHere in Kolkata they charge 295, thats y am thinking if cleaning chain myself.. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Either use a dedicated chain cleaner or diesel - works just fine. Kerosene, though hugely debated for modern chains, works well too!Originally posted by Jithesh KtAny help on this ? I am going to lube myself today evening. I need to complete the check list. That's the hurry. Sorry
