Is it sand remaining in that part? Also the plate was wet when the sound was coming..
Even my papa said this type of noise came another day but went away..

could be mud/sand between pads and disc plate.
    Try pressurized water between them.

Performance is great. I use to clean & lube every 750 kms. Since my usage of bike is high & I'll cover this 750 kms in just 15-20 days. Better u follow the same 750 kms. I don't use any exclusive cleaner for my bike. I use kerosene to clean the chain. After that I'll use this 3M lube. I bought the same from local automobile shop for Rs. 140 - 75g. This is a small can & it can be used for 3 or 4 times & depends on how u use effectively.

For painted parts - 3M cream-based polish after every wash, Turtle Wax green protector every 3 months.

For rubber/plastic (unpainted) parts - 3M rubber protector & silicone polish...

If you see the manual its clearly mentioned that we can use any kind of soap/ mild detergent water with a sponge and immediately wipe it after cleaning, with a soft dry cloth/ sponge to prevent any reaction with the paint. The sponge must be dipped in the soap/detergent solution now and then until the cleaning process is over. This can be done once a month or whenever earlier if the dirt is excess. Also solutions with alcohol content or any spirit must be avoided to prevent the paint from deteriorating.

Use cool running water to remove dirt initially before using soap/ detergent. Don't scrape off the dry dirt, it might scrape out the paint too.

You can use car wax to polish the painted area.

I would suggest every owner to coat teflon evenly with proper interval or use clear sticker over the painted parts to avoid unexpected scratches and dirt accumulation!

Please elaborate on why you suggest Teflon* coating and clear-stickers?

Teflon: It retains the the glossy glow of the metallic paint for 1.5 months at least. Fine dust accumulates as a layer over the coating which is easy to blow off or wipe. There is no sediment sticking on to the paint. Moreover, when using cleaning agents, this layer is a little protective until the coating lasts. It can prevent the chemical in the cleaner reacting with the paint. But it's hard to know when this coating will wear off. All of a sudden we can find a loss in gloss and dust sticking on to the painted areas and creating a dull look and a little wear.

Clear sticker: I would say its the cheapest way to prevent minor scratches that happen without our knowledge. It's most useful for metal parts or bike having metal tanks. It is useful on metal tanks if you are using tank bags with magnets for locking on to the tank. It is done in most of the sticker shops for around 300-500 rupees and lasts really long unless you don't use your bike in the most rustic of the terrains. It acts as a transparent layer and if there is any scratch with a sharp object or even the key, it takes it until it wears off. We can use detergents or soaps on it without worrying about any reaction with the paint. Moreover it takes time to wear off completely. Dust or hard dirt? It can take it and we can clean it without scraping the paint! But with time, like any other plastic sticker, it diminishes the glow of the paint, especially if it the paint is white or any other bright color say yellow, because of continuous exposure to dusty environments.

These are the uses I have practically seen on my own bikes and my friends' bikes!

Disadvantages? Well, with my experience, all I can say is that they're temporary and need to be redone with time. It's hard to find when they would wear off. Because all of a sudden you could find signs that this layer is getting diminished with dust/external agents. Nothing else I have found till now.

Its also hard to find people who apply these two perfectly. There should be popular shops though.

These are usual problems with every Gixxer... Millage depends on your riding type...once give it tuning so that they can adjust to get max millage..
And coming to harshnesses change the engine oil...
Some bikes has Front disc rusting problem...

I happened to meet and ride to the beach with @Dynamo this morning. Early morning Sunday cityscape was so calm and free The bike is a breeze to ride along with the flowing roads. It was a good 42 odd km ride!

The K&N sticker appears cool on the white mudguard!

Hey guys.. Just received the delivery of my black gixxer yesterday.
So far finding the gear shifts to be a lot harder than I expected it to be. Especially while shifting from 2nd to third.. Foot is still sore from shifting yesterday.. I know this is a common problem and should go away with time.. Meanwhile I'm gonna be on the lookout for padded shoes.. Does anyone have any suggestions for temporarily dealing with it?
Also I don't plan on riding the bike during the rains.. So would it be alright to remove the rear mudguard?.. My concern is that will it spray water on the back of pillion during small patches of wet and muddy roads?

Yesterday did the Chennai-Pondy-Chennai drive and following are a few observations. Since it was a business meet, I initially planned to drive in car, but since i got the Gixxer, never did any long trip and finally decided to take the Gixxy.

Wednesday evening, started direct from office to Pondy @ 5.15pm and kept driving at sedate speeds of around 70-75kmph. Throughout my journey, did not have a drop of rain, but the entire route was kind of, a drizzle had occurred right before I came. It was super cool and pretty enjoyable.

Just took a 20 min break for tender coconut. The shopkeeper too turned out to be a passionate biker and said my bike looks cool with the LEDs for parking and Head lights. He has booked a R15 it seems. Had a nice chat about some of the exotic bikes and cars which he usually sees during the weekend. Reached Pondy around 7.30-7.45pm.

Completed my work, and stayed over at a relative's place and next morning had planned to start by 7.30 to reach office on omr by 10. But as usual, woke up late and started only by 8.45. Tanked up and realized fuel was more than 4rs less compared to chennai.

Decided to catch up the lost time and also wanted to test the Gixxy's limits, Did the complete journey in speeds between 95-115. Took a 40 minute breather near kalpakkam for Tendercocnut.

The onward journey gave me around 45kmpl and I expected the return journey to be around 40, but so far, I think I have got much better milage taking into consideration the speeds at which I was driving. Will confirm when the bike hits reserve.

The bike is super smooth regardless of the speed. Awesome road-grip offered by the stock tires. Feels a bit edgy only when there is strong cross or head winds. The SF would just be a lot more planted in those situations. It has superb power delivery throughout the rev range and only loses a bit post 8.5k rpm. But still its too good for a 155cc. Absolutely zero fatigue in my onward journey and felt a little bit of tiredness during return as the speeds were a lot higher. Reached office by 11.

                                Some snaps from the drive.

Off topic: The FZ V2 is absolutely no match to the Gixxy in a drag. The Old FZ actually gives a lot more competition but still loses out.

Got a call from Pramaan Suzuki and they offered me couple of free tickets to this week's Gixxer cup race at irunkattukkottai on Sunday. Also heard from them that they have placed an order for the full faring I wanted to fit to my white Gixxer. They said they will get back to me in 15 days regarding status and price. Pretty exciting if I can convert my Gixxer into the SF.

Also bros, it would be great if we all chennai guys could plan a group drive.

                                Hi,

Nice to get in contact with a suzuki gixxer owner from pramaan suzuki Adambakkam

Got the same calls and all that you stated above

It will be nice if we chennai gixxy owners plan a trip to pondy

                                Im ready for it

Before that lets all try to meet with our beast at a point within chennai and have a small drive within chennai.

                                Cheerz

I bought my gixxer on 24th Jan 2015 and its past 5+ months and im happy with my bike only problem till now from purchase day is Hard Gear Shift even at full clutch ;( and im getting mileage of 50+ till now at all modes of driving.
